  • Wonderful! Comfortable! Everything we could possibly need! :-)

"Where to start? I was doing Lavaman and my husband and a friend were with for fun and support. We were looking for a place where our rooms gave us a bit of separation, open common area and a place for my gear and our snorkeling and other beach gear. This was the perfect place. A beautiful home with everything we could ask for, not to mention how spotless it was on arrival. The layout was idea, lots of open space, while the bedrooms had their privacy with the master upstairs and the second bedroom downstairs and tucked away. The kitchen had all the gadgets we could have possibly used, including a coffee grinder :-) We never actually watched tv, but did use it for the music channels. The pool was about a minute walk from the front door and included a spa. Lots of towels for home and the beach and linens for the beds. The lanai was such a pleasant place to sit and be quiet, visit or get some work done. The garage was wonderful to have available! I was able to keep my bike inside and we could lay out our beach gear. Oh and bicycles! What a nice thing to have available to use - our friend used one often. There is so much to do and available on the resort, I can kind of understand how some people stay one the property their entire visit. But! That is not us. We hop in the car and head out exploring, this trip we went as far as the Kapoho Tide Pools in one direction to Two Step in another direction, and Hawi in yet another direction - and all points in between. This is on our radar for 2018 Lavaman. We know it's perfect for us. Mahalo!"

  • Beautiful Property, Beyond Expectations!

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First trip to Big Island for family of six. We stayed in four different places over ten nights, to see more of the island. Our 5 nights at Hali'i Kai were by far our favorite and when we return, we would be inclined to stay here for the entire visit. Conveniently located, Condo was very comfortable, exceptionally clean and tastefully furnished. Loved all the extras like games, movies, beach equipment and tennis racquets for the grandkids (ages 9,11,14). LOVED the pool area, especially during and after sunset. Great menu at the poolside restaurant and bar. Thank you for letting us enjoy your beautiful Hawaiian home! Hope to be back one day very soon. :)"

  • Nice unit and good value but arguably best suited to older couples

"Overall this is a nice place provided you are looking for a quiet condo and have tempered expectations of the local beach and pool. Pros: - Overall quality of unit and complex (best in area?) - Well equipped with several kitchen basics and beach stuff - Spacious; great for sharing with another couple - Local paths / trails are cool - Quiet Cons: - Retirement community vibe - Beach within walking distance (A-bay) is a disappointment - Nice pool area but not heated (cold!) and lots of rules (no toys, etc) - Couch is in dire need of replacement - Management company is nice and polite but behind the times with online booking (fax/mail) - Local shopping areas areas (King/Queens shops) have buzz-kill elements like a Macy's and Macaroni Grill - Quiet We had a small maintenance issue that the manager attempted to remedy immediately. The floor is really dirty - probably from folks not taking off their shoes and tracking street grime on to the tile floor. We are strict shoes-off folks so after seeing black soles after 30 minutes I called to request a cleaning. They promptly came and re-washed but is didn't really help. I didn't push it. Overall the place is in nice condition but the floor needs some help. I suppose it is hard with a rental... The complex is really nice but it was hard with a 4 year old - A-bay is a drag, cold pool, no pool toys permitted. All in, it is probably about the best you'll do in the Kohala area but it isn't a great family set up if you are comparing vs a resort."

  • Amazing Place

"Beautiful apartment on an excellent location. The apartment is equipped with everything one would wish for. Nice sandy beach is on a walking distance as well as a supermarket. The infinity pool is overlooking a big artificial lake facing west with amazing sunsets."
