  • Best Location

"Two of us spent three weeks at this condo in Hali’i Kai. It was the perfect setting. We loved the view of the golf course and ocean from the lanai. Very soothing. The sunsets were stunning. The condo is exceptionally quiet for sleeping and the beds are comfortable. Each morning before the sun rose and each night before going to bed, I walked out on the lawn behind the lanai to watch the stars. A real treat. The Ocean Club within the resort complex is an easy walk and so handy with the private bar and restaurant (good food), exercise area, and pool. The unit is well maintained and the owner was very responsive. We appreciated the grill on the lanai, where we cooked fresh fish. When served along with a salad made of local ingredients, we enjoyed delicious and easy dinners. Our favorite place to buy fish was at “Da Fish House” in Kawaihae, a short drive north along the highway. The building doesn’t look like much, but you can purchase fish caught the same day. We like to golf and find the Big Island to have the best courses and greatest variety. We enjoy all the courses along the Kohala Coast as well as the Big Island Country Club, which is inland and at a higher elevation."

  • Great House, Great Location

"Age range, 60, 30s, 20s and young kids. The house was great for everyone. Location: About 25 minute drive from the airport, straight up the highway. Very easy to find. It's situated on the fishpond (look it up, very interesting history) which makes for a nice buffer between you and the beach-goers. The beach is a five minute walk, either through the beach club or marriott sidewalk - super easy to get to. The fishpond is also really neat because you can look in it and see all kinds of creatures from fish to eels and crab. It makes for a really pretty setting. Also, within a one minute drive is a nice grocery market and two nice upper-midscale outdoor shopping areas. Very nice to have so close by. The other houses in the area are all well kept and we never heard a peep from anyone on either side of us (did see cars in the driveway, so someone was there). Amenities: The beds where all comfortable. I have some back issues but slept great, which doesn't usually happen when I travel. The beds all have nice, big Hawaiian Quilts on them (as shown in the photos) - very nice touch. The two masters have big bathrooms with standup showers that lead to outdoor, private showers and each has a large, jetted tub as well has dual sinks. All other bedrooms have standard baths a shown in the photos. All very clean and well appointed. The dining room has a huge solid wood table (very cool) that can seat 10 or 12 without issue - probably more. The kitchen was my favorite part. Very nice Viking kitchen with everything you'll need to cook breakfast, lunch or dinner - something we did a lot. Family room was very large with plenty of seating. One of my favorite features is the opening walls to the back yard. We had some great nights where we could open up the whole house and let the fresh air in. What a treat. We spent a ton of time in the pool. It's lit at night and the jacuzzi is heated. What more do you need? The grill outside works great and we used that and ate outside a few times. The grounds are kept up really nicely. There are trees and flowers all round the front, back and side yards. The details were not overlooked here. And last but not least, Tjaden, the on-site property manger, was awesome. Ask him anything and he'll make it happen. Overall this house really made a great home for our family for the week. We'd all highly recommend it."

  • Perfect Hawaii Getaway - So Much Better Than A Hotel!

"I've been to the Big Island many times with friends and family and we've always gone the hotel route because it's I wish I had stayed in a condo earlier! I loved waking up to the ocean breezes, making coffee and sitting out on the lanai before heading out to the beach for a walk. I really enjoyed making our meals in and enjoying the lanai and the condo itself. So quiet and peaceful, there were several days we never left the complex! I read three books during the time we were there which in itself was a welcome respite. Jayne, the owner, is great to work with, we had a long talk before we arrived about all of her favorite places and the condo itself. She's a great resource and you can tell the pride of ownership is really there. The place is spotless, and there is plenty of everything....beach towels, beach chairs and toys, a fully stocked kitchen, games, you name it and she's incorporated it. A/Bay is just a short walk away....we went to about 5 different beaches but loved coming back to A/bay....we had many walks there in the morning and enjoyed Lava Lava's Happy Hour there as well! We will definitely be back, and I highly recommend this condo."
