  • Beautiful Sunsets in a Gorgeous Condo

"My husband, daughter and I stayed in Halii Kai 12 b for 9 nights over the New Year’s holiday. It was exactly as advertised: clean, well provisioned, with a spectacular view of sunset and whales! They even have the martini glasses and shaker to make sunset martinis! What they didn’t tell us was that in winter you can step out on the grass and watch sunrise too!! The furnishings are upscale and the kitchen has lovely pots, pans and appliances. We have stayed at Halii Kai before and so were a bit concerned that since the b units have no windows on the sides, it would be like staying in a cave. The orientation of this unit allows light in all day long. The only draw back of that is it is a bit too hot to sit on the lanai in the afternoon because the sun shines directly on you and there is no shade. Since the amazing oceanfront Halii Kai pool is just steps away, this is an easy problem to overcome. I only have two recommendations to make this unit better. We would have loved to have a bbq on the lanai as did all of the other units in this building. The grill at the pool is often busy, so it can be challenging to time a meal. Also, we had asked that the two twins in the second bedroom be converted to a king. This was done without the proper bolster so the crack between the 2 twin mattresses was very obvious and quite uncomfortable for our daughter. The management suggested I use some extra bedding to fill in the crack and this helped a bit. If they get the proper kit for changing the twins into a king then, I would recommend this unit for 2 couples traveling together; otherwise it is best for a couple and two singles. Overall, these two issues are far out weighed by benefits of this unit’s amenities from bathrobes and soft bath towels, to the well stocked kitchen and pantry with leftover basics from previous guests to its location very close to the Halii Kai pool complex and the ability to sip martinis while watching the sun set into the ocean!"

  • Wonderful Waikoloa

"We had never visited Hawaii before, so decided to rent Den and Sylvie's very comfortable condo in Waikoloa, about 20 minutes north of Kona. We really did feel as though we were staying in a friend's home for 11 nights. The location allowed us to explore beaches on the dry (Kona) side of the island as well as travel easily to Waimea in the central part of the island, to the Kohala peninsula in the north, and to Hilo and a number of interesting sites on the island's wet side. All in all being based in this lovely home was a great way to introduce ourselves to the Big Island. We were also struck by how wonderfully the condo introduced us to the culture of Hawaii through the art, music, furnishings, and guide books available for our use. It was easy to eat meals in when we chose to, as the kitchen was extremely well organized and stocked with everything from herbs and spices to high quality cookware. We really couldn't have asked for a nicer home away from home."

  • Outstanding accomidations at Palm Villas

"We first contacted the owner, "Christine" by e-mail and arranged a month stay at her hawaii condo. She was honest and delightful to deal with right from the start. We arrived at Palm Villas late at night. Midnight to be exact. The lights were on for us, and everything was in absolutely perfect condition!! The property manager "Robin" had gone out of her way to put some breakfast supplies, coffee, pineapple, eggs, milk etc, in the fridge for our first morning! It was too late for us to shop, so that was a wonderful and appreciated effort. When we walked in to the condo it was spotless! Everything you could ask for was there, and all in good working order. The kitchen appliances all worked perfectly, they were quite new, and VERY clean. The linen was clean, the furniture was clean, All the little things were in place as well. The carport was a bonus, and it was full of supplies like snorkel gear for almost all ages, boogie boards, cooler for the beach, chairs for the beach etc. Nothing was forgotten, and just an overwhelming surprise compared to most places we've rented in hawaii. As one writer puts it, "the pictures don't do it justice", and its true! Outstanding job ladies! It's nice to be involved with a class act once in a while!! We'll see you again!"
