  • SO WONDERFUL. Look no further.

"Its going to be hard to keep this review short. This home is amazing in all ways. It is beautiful, the view is stunning, the grounds are impressive, and the house is well stocked with just about anything you might need. Literally, you only need food and the owners are great about telling you the best places to go for it. I met the property manager who was wonderful is well and gave us some good tips of things to do locally. The house was impeccably clean, the beds very comfortable, and having the ohana unit was wonderful. The ohana unit is great for older kids, another couple, parents etc. My entire family spanning from the age of 2 to 48 absolutely loved this house and enjoyed our stay immensely. It can't be beat."

  • FAB-U-LOUS!!!

"Everything you'd need, is there! This is my 6th go around with VRBO and AirBnB and I've gotta tell you, I have yet to be disappointed. Hotels should take caution for with this option and the rates? Hotels are going to be a thing of the past. Where do I begin...privacy. The foliage is grown to offer just that...and peaceful aside from the Coqui's which is fine because my family and I slept well still. Better the Coqui's up mauka (mountain) than traffic noise and sounds of O'ahu. The house is comfortable, welcoming and very spacious. We were there for an entirely sad reason, but being in this home and only a few miles from Ho'okena Beach made the mood a little bit lighter. Bob, my family and I cannot thank you enough for your hospitality. I do apologize for the late review, but I didn't want to post a modest review. I needed to post exactly what your property deserves. I'd definitely send people your way. Mahalo Bob Hoffman a me Hale Honu!!!"

  • Beautiful house/setting, easily accommodated group of 8

"The pictures of this place do not do it justice. When you drive down the long, very steep and windy road to get here you wonder what you are getting yourself into and then you open the door to this beautifully decorated house (reminded me of what I would imagine an expat house in India looks like) with views of the ocean from the dining room, kitchen, and one of the bedrooms, lanais everywhere, a hot tub, a is amazing. We were a family of 8 - 2 little kids (5,9), 3 grandparents, and 3 adults. The house easily accommodated us sleeping wise and never felt crowded. It was clean and well stocked. My kids loved being a hop away from the pebble beach and played in the waves almost every day. We walked to the black sand beach once but my kids liked the pebble beach the best. The crater rim hike leaving from the pebble beach is nice (fyi, 7:45 is too late to start - hot and no shade!). The house is nicely situated for sightseeing in S. Kona - we went to the kula kai caverns, volcano national park, and the place of refuge. If you aren't a vegetarian, be sure to get some local grass fed beef and shaved ice from the Kealia ranch store. Check out the smoothies and baked goods (and great guacamole) at the S. Kona fruit stand. The only word of caution/thing I wish we did more of was plan our food a little better. This house is a little off the beaten path - an hour from Costco (and the airport), 30 min in either direction for groceries, and 15-20 min from restaurants. So if you can get most of your groceries for your stay on you way in definitely do that and then supplement here and there (there is a nice farmers market on Sun in Capt. Cook). We planned day by day and that wasn't really ideal for us. You could easily come to this house for a week and never go anywhere else - you have an amazing house, easy access to 2 beaches, hiking - or you can use it as a nice base and travel around the island. We didn't have a chance to meet Deanna in person but she was extremely responsive over email."

  • Last Name...Grigg vacation review

"Of course our vacation was one of our best ever. Thank you to our hosts for adding my son and his wife at the last minute. Otherwise there was nothing that we needed that was not already supplied. The views are amazing. The road in is steep, but don't worry, you get use to it pretty quickly. At first we thought, "my, we are so far out", then we realized that our choice was perfect for us. Hawaii is a big Island and we were close to some of the best snorkeling available. We were surrounded by dolphins and turtles almost every adventure into the water. And I can't express enough how magical the Manta Ray Magic adventure was. Huge graceful Mantas gliding within inches of us was a experience we will never forget. Don't worry about the geckos and millipedes they are harmless and intriguing. I would like to say if you have your porch light on at night, you'll see moths and geckos everywhere. We loved it. If you do not, keep the light off and they won't show up. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us."
