  • Fabulous weekend getaway with friends!

"A group of old friends from Juneau, AK reunited at this beautiful country farm house for the Kentucky Derby weekend. We were amazed at the affordability of the house, given it's size (two-story, 3-bed, 3-bath) and impressive landscape. This house is an easy day drive to several bourbon distilleries, including into Louisville for the Derby. Neighboring towns Lebanon and Bardstown have nice, quaint restaurants, tap rooms, and clothing boutiques for those who enjoy shopping. Caron Tucker is a wonderful hostess - she was most helpful with directions to nearby attractions/restaurants and made our group's stay comfortable and easy. I cannot wait to return to this area for a longer stay to explore more of the country and enjoy this home again!"

  • Weekend Getaway

"We had a great time at Apple Valley! The pool was very nice also! We rented a pontoon from the state dock which was easy and convenient. Would definitely stay again!"

  • Lots of space!

"Our family of 8 adults and two dogs had a delightful weekend at this house. The view was lovely from the back deck and inside there was more than enough room for all of us to stretch out and enjoy ourselves. The ping-pong table came in handy on rain mornings, as did the spacious table in the kitchen for board games. The grill was large and worked great. Good beds, plenty of towels, fairly well stocked kitchen - we settled right in an had a great time. Not too far from both Jamestown Dock and State Dock. Quiet neighborhood for walking."

  • reposting for this great little spot!!!

"not sure what happened to my original review but felt like I needed to repost. We really enjoyed our stay here- here for a week oct., '15. Jennifer and her family were great hosts. At the time they lived nearby but were building on the back of this property and have probably moved in by now. The space is just perfect as a base camp to visit many attractions in KY. Berea area offers lots of crafts, several states parks 30min-1hr away. Cumberland falls falls is great. about 45 minutes to Lexington- ky horse park, keeneland racetrack, lots of beautiful horse farms and tours, Toyota plant tour- great and free but call ahead!!!), bourbon tours, we made a day trip out of red river gorge, nada tunnel, and Butcher Holler(Loretta Lynn). you can ride out daily for different things and return to this cozy place and hike around or relax in the swing on the porch. it was clean and comfy and had what we needed. It is easy to find and easy parking. It is intended as a place away so there is no tv. There is internet but usually have to have the door open or be outside for it to work- wifi. dollar general just a couple of miles away to pick up a few misc things if you need. we took our mcycle to ride the area and had plenty of room to get in with truck/trailer and everything was safe. it is everything it seems to be and wonderful bargain!!!"
