  • A wonderful place to kick back, unwind, and enjoy nature in a lovely setting and comfortable cottage

"Biscay Sunsets is the perfect place to recharge one's batteries! We took a few side trips to Pemaquid Point, New Harbor and Christmas Cove, but each time we breathed a sign of relief upon returning to the cottage where we would take a swim and/or settle into the adirondack chairs to enjoy the soft breezes. Swimming, walking, boating, horseshoes, reading, and swinging in the hammock... Can't wait to return!"

  • Best Vacation ever!

"This is our 5th time here and it is always Heaven for 2 weeks, quiet mornings with coffee watching the ocean and lobster boats from the living room and quiet walks to Pemaquid Light House. Even in the fog and rain it is the best vacation ever. The renovated kitchen was nothing less than gourmet and so beautiful. We cooked in every night and it was a joy. Everything was spotless and so elegant. We always feel so fortunate that you allow us to share your home for 4 weeks out of the year. It is so much more than a "rental". It's a home at Pemaquid Point. See you in October...we can't wait. Barbara and Tom Furlong"

  • Fantastic Maine coastal getaway!

"Our family spent a week at this gorgeous home and loved every minute. The house is beautiful and comfortable with water views on all sides. Private and remote in feel but only a 5 minute walk to one of the best lobster shacks around. Adirondack chairs on the point for reading. Lovely patio to watch the sunsets. Dock for swimming, kayaking and canoeing. The owner Rick answered every question within minutes. He also gave us some great local tips. I didn't want to leave!"

  • Another amazing week at "The Laughing Gull"

"This was our third stay at the Gull and each has been fabulous. I almost hesitate to write a review because the secret will be out. Among the many, there are three primary reasons for our return year after year. First, the property is well-maintained. Second, the location and view are what people go to Maine to experience. Third, it is comforting that the owners live directly across the street and are attentive to all needs. Eg. the water heater died Sunday and it was replaced Monday. The road on which the property is located is quiet and the only things that disturb that serenity is the crashing of waves and the gentle hum of the lobster boats casting their traps. There are all kinds of entertainment within a couple of miles: the fort which dates back to the French and Indian War; the archeology of the original Pemaquid settlement (compete with graveyard) which dates back to the 1640's; informal dining at the Contented Sole, Shaws, and the Seagull; fine dining at the Bradley; the incredible breakfasts at Cupboard Cafe; and the convenience of Reilly's grocery store just up the street. There is no need to leave the area, but if you choose to do so, within easy driving distance there are four noteworthy destinations: 1. Boothbay Harbor with its botanical gardens, aquarium, shopping, and tall ship cruises, 2. Rockland with its Farnsworth (Wyeth) Museum and newly opened Museum of Modern Art, 3. Damariscotta with a large grocery store, quaint shops, and movie theatre, and 4. Hardy Boat Cruises which sail to Monhegan Island and take evening cruises up and down the beautiful rocky coast of the peninsula. I cannot overestimate the importance of having the owners nearby. They are genuinely nice people committed to the area."
