  • Perfect!

"This was our second stay at the Greene's lovely, comfortable camp. We can definitively say the lake and area is every bit as beautiful in mid-August as it was in early June! The Greene's go above and beyond to ensure visitors have everything they need for a wonderful vacation. The surrounding areas provide as much or as little activity as one visiting would wish. Again, thank you so much for everything! Melanie & Kevin"

  • PERFECT getaway!

"We went to Call of the Loon to celebrate my 50th birthday. My one birthday request to my family of 4 (including 2 teenage daughters) was that we "unplug" for the long weekend. No electronics, including no phones, TV, or music. Although the cottage came equipped with electronics (and a huge tv!), Call of the Loon allowed us to slow down, to sit for hours and take in the gorgeous and colorful fall leaves, the loons, the ducks, the sunrises, the stars. Call of the Loon allowed us to fully relax, read, take naps on the cozy couches, play games, sit by the outside fire as the sun set. Call of the Loon encouraged us to drink coffee on the deck in the am and wine in the pm (adults only!). Call of the Loon provided the opportunity for us to slow down, be mindful, be grateful and appreciate the present moment. BEST location for such a celebration! Thanks, Brad!"

  • Beautiful, private place!

"We stayed in mid June of 2016 and what a wonderful week it was! Things we LOVED The privacy, you can't see another house from any angle of the home/yard. The lot is steep, but beautifully wooded. The house it set well off the road. The dock was thoughtfully done, the area down by the water is wide enough to accommodate several chairs, and in our case a couple of sleeping dogs. The floating raft 15 feet out is a wonderful addition. The decks! This home actually has three, one level with the top floor of the house with a nice hot tub, large outdoor table, a grill, and a smoker! The lower one is set up so you can walk right out of the basement. The third is set down by the water with a fire pit. The setup of the home. Two of the three bedrooms have TVs, and the living room has a comfy couch and a recliner, also with a TV. The basement has an awesome bar set up, a couple of great recliners and another TV. It was great for us as we had two couples who couldn't agree on what to watch on a rainy night. They provided two Kayaks and a canoe. Hang a right off the dock and go to what looks like the end of the lake there is an amazing swampy/boggy area that is awesome to explore! Especially if you are a bird watcher. The loons have no fear of people and when you stop paddling and just float quietly they come surprisingly close. We also saw red wing blackbirds, painted turtles, snapping turtles, and ducks we couldn't identify. It really is a home. The kitchen has what you need. There are a few baskets of books, board games and a PS3 in the children's (bunk bed) room. Rich, the owner, is a nice guy. Excellent communication and helpful! The best part of this home, it's pet friendly. It's very easy to gate off the upper area of the porch so they can hang out with you. The hardwood flooring makes it easy to sweep up pet hair before you head home. Things to keep in mind if you rent this property. There are lots of stairs! Might not be the best choice for grandma and grandpa. This is a log home, anyone who has experience with them knows that they "settle" with time. A few of the interior doors don't stay shut very well. The driveway is STEEP. They aren't kidding about that. Unless you are jumping off the dock there isn't an easy way into the water and if you are a big baby like me you will need water shoes, the ground is mucky. In the owner's defense they may groom it more later in the season. Overall we LOVED this cabin and would be happy to return!"
