  • Nice cottage on a gorgeous lake!

"Stayed at the Granite Lake Cottage this past weekend and had a really nice stay. The cottage was a lot larger than we had anticipated which was great since we were a party of 6 adults. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. They replaced the refrigerator the day we arrived which was fine - even though the new one had to go in the living room since it didn't fit (not a big deal). Judi was great at getting us checked in and acquainted to the area. Saw some loons right off the dock. Enjoyed using all of the floats and boats that were stored in the garage. Pros: Cottage (beautiful living area looking over the lake, bedrooms are large), Lake, Nice Walk Around the Lake, Plenty of floats/kayaks/canoes to use. Cons: Little to no yard for playing lawn games - property is kind of wedged in between two other properties, right next to busy public boat launch, no WIFI or Cell Service (though I was OK with this!), no grill (there is a small propane camping grill but it is kind of useless - bring your own!) Overall a really nice stay and one we will keep in mind for the future."

  • The perfect retreat

"The experience of being here cannot be expressed in photos. From the beautiful vantage point of the generous wrap-around porch, to the cozy private deck off the master bedroom with the comfy chair, to the perfectly proportioned screened-in eating space, it was a wonderful place to relax, play and share precious time with those you love. It accommodated our family of a couple, a 2 year old and a grandmother, with room to spare for friends and other family members to stay for a couple days. I loved the 5 minute walk to the beach, which made that a special destination. It was hard to decide where to have the morning coffee -- in the upstairs porch, the downstairs porch, or the beach. Dinners with soft candlelight on the screened-in porch were a fabulous ending to days that offered a range of activities for all ages (kayak rides around the pristine lake were my favorite). Neighbors are friendly, and the owners are very helpful and available for any questions during the stay via email or phone. This is clearly a special home for them, and they have generously made available many unique items that are beyond the normal vacation rental. It is a place for creating lifelong memories, and I guarantee you will want to return."

  • Mother/Son Weekend Getaway

"We arrived at night in the dark with a non-functioning GPS. (our owner warned of this) Following a winding lakeside road we did find our destination where the owners had thoughtfully put on every possible light in the house. Great instructions for starting the pellet fireplace and the gas stove were waiting. The open space living area was attractive and stairs led to the master bedroom suite which my son claimed. Mother took the downstairs bedroom nearer the bathroom. Plenty of bed covers. We settled in. Although the weather had turned cold, rainy and windy the house, we did get to fish and hike every day right from the house which has a dock for a boat. Life preservers were available. Some good fish were large and small mouth bass. The kitchen was well equipped and the owners had supplied bottled spring water. We used the grill one night. The weather did not permit use of the nice deck overlooking the lake. Especially enjoyable was sitting by the gas fireplace in the sun room with a morning coffee and a good book. Pat came by and we had a good chat. She gave my son a fish net and offered more information about the area . I would recommend a leaf peeping or summer visit to fully enjoy this house."

  • Perfect family get away. Away from it all.

"My family and I (my wife and I, our three grown children, their spouses and 4 grandchildren) spent 3 nights at this house. We found it very comfortable and very roomy. We prepared all our meals there and went out during the day mostly hiking in the woods. We did go into Keene a couple of times during the day. Its a half hour ride where you can buy anything you need."
