  • Peaceful

"This is a great place to get away from it all. Mr. Williams was a great help, he answered a multitude of questions by phone, email and or text. The house is just as the pictures show, it has lots of room and very nice. There are plenty of boat ramps close by for those who love to boat, kayak and fish. All in all this was a great placed for me and my wife. Thanks again Mr. Williams and we look forward to visiting your home again in the future."

  • Perfect getaway location

"My husband and I happened upon this rental property when we were searching for somewhere to spend our 1st wedding anniversary. We feel so lucky to have found it! The views are absolutely amazing-- seriously. It's a corner lot, so there's a water view from nearly every window in the house. It's pet friendly, and our 3-year-old golden retriever mix LOVED playing in the river. I don't think she left the shallow water by the dock all day long! The back deck is shaded by Spanish moss trees. We enjoyed spending time on the deck, swinging in the hammock, drinking coffee on the bench swing, swimming by the dock, and taking the paddle boat out. Columbia is a small, but cute town. We ate at pretty much the only restaurant in town-- a tiny seafood tavern-- the food was delicious and the people were so friendly! We are already talking about when we can go back! Highly recommended :)"

  • Cute Country Cabin Getaway!

"The cabin was like none I have her stayed in. It is well kept and clean. I loved the craftmanship of it. The bathroom picture didn't do it any just of how big and beautiful it is. I love how private it is. It is definitely a place to stay if you want a nice relaxing secluded stay. This cabin is a HGTV fantic's dream like we are. Myself, husband and baby girl loved our stay. Thank you Layden's!"

  • Awesome!

"I was one of 6 former college room-mates who met for an annual weekend getaway--we had an awesome time! The house was roomy with comfortable beds and a large dining room table where we enjoyed catching up. We came prepared to cook/steam our own seafood but the kitchen was well equipped to prepare most anything (and the owner even offered his steamer pot). Our BEST meal was eaten outside on the picnic table located halfway down the dock--nice breeze, beautiful sunset, and the relaxing sound of gentle waves washing below the pier. Our early risers enjoyed morning coffee in the sunroom overlooking the Sound. With swimming, kayaking, and snoozing on the hammock/beach chairs, there was plenty to do on the property but we couldn't resist a trip into Edenton. We rented paddleboards for $5/hr (a real bargain), sampled Orange-ades from the fountain at the local pharmacy, and feasted on the local chili, cornbread, and sandwiches at Nothin Fancy Cafe. (We also had great pizza at Tommy's before our arrival.) The owners have really tried to think of everything. They had lots of information about the local area and a binder to provide all the details needed to enjoy the property. Alan checked on us the first day and even returned on Saturday to give us a boat tour of the Sound and River! We could not have asked for a better weekend and will definitely consider a return trip!"
