  • Perfect cottage surrounded by hills but close to town!

"If you want the best of both worlds in Highlands, this little cottage is perfect -- quiet and away from it all, but also close to the fun and activity of Highlands. With one bedroom upstairs and one downstairs, the home feels spacious and at the same time cozy. The back porch is nestled amid towering rhododendrum, and a beautiful creek weaves across the back yard. For our week's stay, I don't think we heard a car go by a single time. I loved the experience of just getting there -- putting my car in low gear and climbing up the winding Stoney Creek Road to the front door. This is a "don't miss" home away from home if you want a full Highlands experience."

  • Great property! Peaceful setting and very convenient to activities.

"Our stay at the Butler's home was perfect. The house itself exceeded our expectations. It was nicely appointed and tastefully decorated with a perfect balance of rustic (think mountain lodge) and modern (nice, high end kitchen equipment). The location was perfectly situated to enjoy all that the Highlands, NC area has to offer. We strongly suggest the Whiteside Mountain hike, Dry Falls, and the Nantahala Outdoor Center whitewater rapids adventure. For dining, don't miss Cyprus. Communication with the Butlers was outstanding. All of my questions were answered in a very timely fashion. They were friendly and helpful. The welcome letter was extremely helpful and covered pretty much all you would need to know to get checked in. The only minor complaint that we had was the internet service is somewhat intermittent in nature. However, that is clearly the internet service provider's problem and no fault of the Butler's. Just be sure to complete any critical online work prior to coming. Overall, we couldn't have asked for more, and we will be returning in the future. Thank you! Robb and Lori Dunn"

  • The perfect mountain retreat!

"Our week in June was the third summer we have vacationed in this spacious and beautiful home in Old Edwards Club. Our group includes three couples and grandchildren ages 16, 12 and 10, and EVERYONE has plenty of room to spread out and relax. Kitchen is well appointed, baths are beautiful and porch must comfortable the whole week. We really enjoy the club pool, used it every day! We have already planned our week in 2017-thanks Debi and David for the memories!"

  • The scenery was beautiful.

"Thank you for sharing your homes with us. We enjoyed ourselves and had a very memorable Thanksgiving holiday there. It was very peaceful and relaxing. We encountered a couple of problems with the Camp Alexander cabin, but left a note for the cleaning people about them. The electrical plugs on both sides of the stove were bad and there was a leak under the kitchen sink. The plug on the left side of the stove caused the coffee pot wire to burn. Thankful I was standing beside it when it happened, so there was no damage. I bought a new coffee pot and left it there for you and also purchased one for the Honeymoon cabin, because there was only a small one there. We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent at your cabins and have already recommended them to someone. Again, thank you for the use of your cabins. They were very clean and well stocked. You might want to invest in a small mixer, since I needed one and didn't have one there."
