  • Second time as good as the first

"This is the second time our family has stayed at Nestledown. It was exactly as we remembered it - comfortable, peaceful, and convenient. A true home away from home. The hot tub and new grill were just icing on the cake. We enjoyed lounging on the front and back porches, short trips to both Cashiers, Highlands and even Asheville, and all day breezes through open windows. We'll be back."

  • Great mountain home

"House was beautiful with large deck overlooking a large valley and mountain. Large open floor plan kitchen with adjacent outdoor screened area with gas fireplace. We enjoyed the deck in the evenings and a glass of wine and no mosquitos. Cooked on the outdoor grill 2 nights and it worked great. Really enjoyed the large built on griddle in the kitchen, made making breakfast for 10 easy!"

  • Great Mountain Home

"My family recently spent one week in this house; their immediate reaction after seeing it was "wow, you picked a nice place." (I think my kids were expecting a barren, dusty, rustic cabin with mice scurrying around. Lloyd's house is anything but.) As others have noted, the house is very comfortable, very clean, and very much near hiking trails (e.g., Rabun Bald and Scaly Mountain), and the view is terrific (especially at sunrise). And it is very quiet: coming from the city, it was almost disconcertingly quiet. It had everything we needed, and we were indeed sorry to leave it at the end of the week. (As a final note: Lloyd acts very much in a professional manner; the whole rental process was easy, with no surprises.) If we are in the Highlands area again, we would definitely stay in this house."

  • Quiet & Quaint!

"If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is your place! Cute cabin surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest. My husband and I spent the weekend here as an early birthday for him. MJ and Scott keep their cabin spotless and the kitchen is well-stocked with all the utensils you'll need (although we didn't cook any meals here - too many excellent restaurants in Cashiers & Highlands to enjoy). It rained on and off, so we didn't get to use the fire pit out back, but we were able to spend time on the back porch with a beverage, listening to the little waterfall. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. We didn't see any local critters larger than a cute little frog, but I'm sure they're out there. MJ was very responsive and easy to work with. You'll love it here!"
