  • We enjoyed our time here

"My husband and I stayed here for almost one month. We were on the go a lot and it was very easy coming and going from this property. It is well situated between Highlands and Cashiers. The place is nicely decorated. The kitchen is super well stocked for any type of cooking. I particularly liked the china, pretty autumn leaves. The bed linens are cotton sheen nice, high thread count sheets, however both my husband and agreed the two queen beds were too soft for us. We tried both. Just like all the other reviewers said, the neighbors are super nice and welcoming. They are a definite plus. I loved sitting out on the deck listening to the wind blowing through the trees and the stream far away. Sometimes we would enjoy happy hour with the neighbors. The Wifi worked good - we used it everyday, as we brought our laptop. The A/C worked good - sometimes we needed it, as some afternoons got hot. The owner is a quick communicator, very responsive. I always enjoyed coming home to the neighborhood and the home itself. Happy memories."

  • Quiet & Quaint!

"If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is your place! Cute cabin surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest. My husband and I spent the weekend here as an early birthday for him. MJ and Scott keep their cabin spotless and the kitchen is well-stocked with all the utensils you'll need (although we didn't cook any meals here - too many excellent restaurants in Cashiers & Highlands to enjoy). It rained on and off, so we didn't get to use the fire pit out back, but we were able to spend time on the back porch with a beverage, listening to the little waterfall. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. We didn't see any local critters larger than a cute little frog, but I'm sure they're out there. MJ was very responsive and easy to work with. You'll love it here!"

  • Wonderful Mountain House

"Our family of 5 needed a break from the SC heat and we were lucky enough to find this house. It is not too far from the Highlands but far enough away to feel secluded. Highland Gap is a wonderful subdivision and all you need to do is walk out of the front door and you are walking in the woods. We walked every day in the sub division. The house has a wonderful porch and a very nice kitchen and master bedroom. My daughters shared the upstairs bedroom and my son slept in the front den's fold out bed."

  • Another awesome "home away from home" stay.

"My family has been staying here for almost 20 years. It's amazing that a home with this unique character continues to evolve with amenities and technology without losing its appeal. Flat screen TV's, WiFi, hot tub, expanded deck for expansive views -- the list goes on and on. This year we were greeted with new flooring throughout the house and granite in the kitchen -- understated and classy. Our family has been blessed to be able to travel all over the world -- but this is our favorite place. So cool to have our son (who was 5 years old when we first stayed here) bring his new wife here for the first time over the 4th of July weekend. We've had dozens of guest join our family here over the years and many of them have booked time for their own vacation here. The only bad part of our stay is packing up and driving away."
