  • Family Thanksgiving

"We enjoyed our time in Highlands. The house was nice but the Kitchen does not have enough cook ware or utensils to work with. The back porch was definitely the highlight of this Home with the awesome fireplace ! It was nice that we were close to everything ! Would love to visit again!"

  • Perfect getaway

"The owner made this very easy. The cabin had everything you could want. It's relatively close to town, secluded, has a view, fireplace, high quality, etc. We will definitely be back."

  • Beyond Our Expectations - Lakefront and Close To Town

"We had the pleasure of staying at this property in July of this year. Truly, it exceeded our expectations. The property is beyond special. It's like a shoot from Town and Country magazine. It really feels like you're at an estate home. The grounds are enchanting ... winding stone paths and lake front views everywhere. The furnishings are exquisite, the appointments are thoughtful and it was stocked with firewood for the outdoor fire pit and the living room main fireplace - which we used every night. It was also close to downtown Highlands. (Great restaurants). We also walked around the lake every night and used the two canoes. My daughter and son in law stayed in the guest house... which is ADORABLE .... and my grand kids stayed in the loft.. they loved the loft! This home is kind of like visiting a WPA lodge... it feels historic the moment you walk in it... but it's perfectly preserved and updated and the lake siting can't be described. Oh... my husband was on the internet the whole time... and we enjoyed the flat screen TV's everywhere. My favorite spot was the main terrace overlooking the lake at cocktail hour ... it was just phenomenal .... and there were no great pictures of it. The fire pit was there too. We'll be back. I'm surprised that they rent it all ... it's that special."

  • Doesn't get any better!

"What an amazing house. Our family (my husband, our 5 kids ages 19-32 plus two daughter-in-laws, and me) stayed here December 26, 2016 - January 2, 2017 and had the greatest time. The property is absolutely beautiful, so much to see and lots of places to explore. The deer and turkeys visited everyday. The location was perfect! Far away from neighbors but not too far to go spend the day shopping, skiing, horseback riding, dinning or hiking. The house was truly a home. This house has lots of room yet was so cozy for a night of watching t.v. and there is also a huge table for board games, cards and family gatherings. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed from board games to blankets. All the reclaimed wood used to build this home gave it so much character, it is an architect's dream. The house manger, Sherry, was wonderful and went above and beyond. I would wholeheartedly recommend this fantastic place. Patty"
