"We rented this house to be able to give our 5 year old son his first ever "Mid-Western" Christmas. It was in the country, yet within minutes to civilization, and words cannot explain how incredible this place really was!! When they said on the description that it was in the middle of a Christmas Tree farm and that the house had a basketball court, we thought that sounded too good to be true. But when we pulled into the drive and passed hundreds of Christmas trees, then went into the house and opened up the basement doors, we realized that it was 1000% REAL!! The basketball court was a REAL basketball court and our friends and family played real games the entire time. We took our 5 year old son outside, walked about 100 feet, and found the perfect Christmas Tree. The owners not only gave us their blessing to cut it down, they actually had a tree stand, decorations and everything else waiting for us right inside the door and had a saw in the garage for us to cut it down. The kitchen was one of the best I have ever seen with 2 ovens and a convection microwave and they had an outdoor pizza oven that we used to cook 6 pizzas during our trip!! The owners of the house, Chris and Cami, were 2 of the most amazing people we have ever met and in addition to having one of the most beautiful families that you will ever see (complete with 4 beautiful kids) they were genuinely nice and caring people!! They had the Christmas decorations ready, they had a welcome basket with all kinds of goodies, and the entire family stopped by to see us on Christmas Eve and even were thoughtful enough to give my son a remote controlled car. They assisted us, even provided us, with the opportunity to enjoy the best Christmas/Family trip that we have ever had!! No exaggeration, I could go on for hours talking about how incredible the owners were, how amazing their house was, and telling the world about how perfect everything was. But I will instead stop there as I want to make it crystal clear that even though I would recommend to anyone and everyone to stay here that THIS HOUSE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR CHRISTMAS as my family and I will be renting it for Christmas of 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and beyond!! On a scale of 5 stars, I would give the house 6 stars and the owners 7 stars. Thank you Chris and your entire family for helping our family to have the most amazing Christmas ever!!!!! And please pencil us in for the next 5 years!!!!"

The children had so much fun running, playing, hiking and enjoying our campfires each night! Another special perk to this property is the Caretaker, Preton! What a great guy! He checked on us daily, kept the firewood stocked and provided great conversations wtih a positive, happy, outgoing attitude! Preston made our Special Weekend even Better!! Also, the home was decorated for the Holidays with a Beautiful Christmas Tree, lights, etc. Our family had such a wonderful time that we will be reserving again for our 2017 ThankMass Weekend!"

  • Delightful Historic Family Home

"As a family, we have stayed together at several Home-Away vacation homes all over the USA. We rented this home in late September 2016. We had on this trip 5 adults and two children (ages 5 and 2). The 1808 Historic Family Home in Lebanon OH exceeded our expectations. It was clean and tidy, well decorated and plenty of room. The major overriding positive aspect to this rental home is its character and charm. The home was obviously occupied formerly by a large close knit, loving family. The decor was vintage and very well kept. Our family was so impressed with the feelings of being in a comfortable beautiful family oriented home. The welcome homemade bread was a very nice added touch. The family members we spoke and corresponded with were very helpful and hospitable. Thanks to you all ! The town of Lebanon is a quaint and pretty place with downtown attractions within walking distance. Wholeheartedly recommend this home to anyone wanting a vacation in a historic home nestled in a quiet historic neighborhood in a charming Mid America town."

  • Comfortable home in the country

"You can tell that the home has been recently remodeled and everything is in great working order. The only convenience that we could have asked for would have been a washing machine and clothes dryer--which made staying just over one week a little difficult with piles of laundry to deal with later. The home layout is nice and the location is very peaceful, a little way out in the country. The front room when you come in the door has an odd smell--perhaps it is a cleaning product that they use for something in the home. Fortunately we didn't have an allergic reaction to it, it was just annoying and didn't carry through into the bedroom areas. The deck on the back and the woods at the back of the yard were beautiful, although we didn't get a chance to use them. The bed in the first floor bedroom was rather uncomfortable and the pillows in the house were all very soft and flat, as if they had no filling. After awakening sore after the first couple of nights, I suppose I got used to it. I would definitely stay here again, as it is a very nice property at a very reasonable price. I recommend it despite the few (very small) criticisms noted above."
