  • Fun 3 day weekend

"The house was very clean and had all the furnishings needed. We ate dinner at nearby restaurants but cooked breakfasts at the house. The pool table and hot tub made for some nice evenings. The owners answered any questions I had before going there. I would recommend this house for a nice relaxing stay."

  • Awesome family vacation

"As a family of 16, we've rented this place three times over the past six years. It has never failed to be exactly what we were looking for. With eight kids under 12, there is plenty of space inside and out. We take a day trip to Del Grosso's Amusement/Water Park (about an hour away) and several trips to Raystown Lake (half an hour away), but the majority of the time is spent playing yard games, enjoying the fabulous wrap around porch with plenty of rockers, or playing games and working puzzles on the large indoor dining table. If you're looking for a secluded spot where your family can run around freely, explore nearby woods, or simply relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, this is the place. Three full bathrooms, large living spaces, five bedrooms and other optional sleeping spaces, provide numerous options for the large family or group. Go, relax, and enjoy this excellent place that we hope to use for years to come!"

  • Probably the best designed vacation home I've ever seen.

"It's hard for me to add meaningfully to the years of overwhelmingly positive reviews you can read here -- honestly, they're pretty much right about all of it. This property is a gem. What I'll say is that unlike a lot of vacation homes I've stayed in, everything about the lodge really *worked*. All of the bathrooms and the kitchen actually vented outside (so, taking showers or cooking a stew didn't steam everyone). The central air actually propagated very well throughout the property -- not the usual "2nd floor is an oven while the first feels like the north pole". Thoughtful chandelier-style lighting and ceiling fans were absolutely everywhere (including the centerpiece deck / porch); and, I never had to hunt for a power outlet when I needed one. The "summer camp" theme is strong throughout the property, and made the place feel so much more like I'd gotten away from my city home -- the pictures simply don't do the place justice. Windows are placed strategically throughout so that you're never spiritually far from the pleasantly woodsy setting, and the tall vaulted ceiling was both visually handsome, and a treat for the ears in the rain. The layout of the property was very conducive to making spaces for people to get together and talk or play, while leaving plenty of room for some quiet reading when a bit more solitude was wanted. We honestly never missed the lack of Cable TV -- which is an endorsement all by itself. The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked and had room for two to comfortably work, and the dishwasher was a life-saver that did a better job than mine at home. About the only thing I really missed during our stay was a tub for soaking after a long day's hike, but it's hard to complain when there were 3 very nice showers and plentiful hot water. We're all very much looking forward to coming back next year!"

  • Great Stay!

"Everything was great! Doug, the owner, checked on us when we arrived and told us to call if we needed anything. The cabin comes fully stocked with just about everything you can think of to make yourself at home. Hoping to stay again next year. I'm thinking we've started a tradition!"
