  • Fabulous place for a long weekend...

"We stayed at this property in The Hollows and had a wonderful time. The property's central location to The Hollows is wonderful. Short drive, or long walk, to the pool, sand volleyball court, and lake make this a wonderful option for spending time on the North shore of Lake Travis. The unit itself is as advertised: clean, spacious, comfortable, and easy. Whether we were on the go or recovering from activity in front of the TV, we were well-served by this great rental. The owners were super-easy to work with. They communicated really well ahead of our rental, were infinitely patient with silly and often redundant questions, and very responsive to any needs we had. Can't recommend this unit enough for a great time at Lake Travis. Some pointers about The Hollows: Common areas are very busy on Friday and Saturday. Sunday and Monday were quiet, although food service at the pool stops at dinner and resumes on Wednesday. Boat and kayak rentals are easy from the pier or from a kayak rental service that came to us. Guys at the pier are great! Check with them to get permission to fish from the dock... they're really great."

  • Thanksgiving Rental Review

"The house has a lovely view of the lake and is very comfortable for a family, even had a few games for the kids. The complex is nice and has a number of areas for walking. The house had supplies for cooking and so we were able to make nice family meals together. Plenty of space between the rooms so that there was quiet time as well and the porch view is lovely."

  • Thinking of making this our yearly trip

"I will say first that the cabin is even better than pictured! Very homey, but large at the same time. We never felt crowded with 5 adults and 2 two-year-olds. The kitchen had all of the cooking tools we needed to eat in most nights. The grill worked well. The pool at the Hollows was freezing cold, but once you got used to it it was nice on a 90 plus degree day. You may need to do a little child-proofing if you have toddlers (we blocked the corners of the fireplace with a couple decorative pillows), and consider some sort of seating/dining option if you're planning on eating in. The dining chairs are too puffy for our strap on booster seats (not that we remembered to bring them) and cheerios were spilled frequently because the kiddos couldn't quite reach the table. Just minor inconveniences that were our fault, and that didn't impact the trip negatively. As important to me as the location and home is the quality of the hosting, and Lynn was amazing. When an issue came up she dealt with it right away--someone was there in less than an hour. A few general notes about the area for anyone who wants food advice. My husband is a big planner and mostly looked for restaurants in the Lago Vista and Jonestown areas (okay, we ate out more than I initially indicated), but we had mixed results. More Restaurant had great fish and chips but everything else was lacking. The donut place next door to More was very good, though they overcharged me. J&J's BBQ was fine, Latte Vista Cafe was good, but only has outdoor seating. Our favorite places were a little farther, in Cedar Park and Leander. We recommend Blue Corn Harvest, Farm to Fork, Mouton's, and Dig Pub. All really great food and the drives didn't feel bad at all. Oh, and our kids loved Hop and Happy, a bounce house entertainment center that's pretty much back in Austin (where we live) but definitely ended up being worth the drive. Overall, it was a great trip! We'd love for this to be the "lake house" our kids get used to and visit often! Thanks!"
