  • Great place for a family gathering ! ! !

"We took the family to the lake house for a relaxing mini vacation. First of all, kudos to Scott who gave us accurate detailed travel directions and specifics about the area and the townhouse. He pointed out places to go for food and supplies. He was very helpful, even getting me out of an unexpected jam. The townhouse was amazing, such a comfortable spacious place. We used the full size kitchen, outdoor grill, washer and dryer, all the amenities of home. During the heat of the day, we enjoyed the game room and outdoor balcony. The kids enjoyed morning fishing and swimming in the lake, but loved the kayaking. Even with the curfew imposed on their phone and devices, the kids never got bored. We found board games and books, watched movies, and even resurrected the latent ping pong touch. At night everyone retreated to their own comfortable bed. The A/C was strong and kept the place very comfortable. Truly a great place for a family gathering and a great value."

  • Family Gathering

"Our first experience booking accommodations through VRBO (or, any similar website). I felt comfortable with the whole experience. The owner was responsive, answering emails within 24 hours. The Parke's condo is very nice, cute decor (some of the window blinds need to be replaced) and accommodated 8 adults just fine. I chose this condo because the third bedroom has two sets of bunk beds. So, everyone could have a bed w/o using the pull out couch. We loved the large balcony! The family room has seating for 6 in view of the TV (there are 3 remotes, one had no batteries). So, we just pulled up 2 dining rm chairs when gathered to watch the Olympics. Good times! One comment about the shower in the master bath: It is a large shower and the floor was very slippery. Either a mat or a grab bar, or both, should be considered for safety. Liked the Hollows and would definitely go back."

  • Had our wedding here! It was great!

"We rented out both properties for four nights for our ~70 person wedding and it was the perfect venue. Did the rehearsal dinner, wedding, and reception all on property. We had our wedding party stay with us for the nights preceding the wedding to help with decoration and enjoy the beautiful property. Out-of-town guests either stayed in Austin and drove up (a little over an hour) or stayed at the La Quinta in Marble Falls (~15 min drive). Nancy and Sarah were great to interact with and were very helpful throughout. We chose this place because it was a little more of a blank slate than a lot of the venues we looked at. The infrastructure is there to be an event venue but it's clearly laid out to be more of a gathering place about 30 people rather than the 70 we had for the wedding. I think we had 32 people staying there at its fullest. With that amount the property would have been fine as is but required some legwork to comfortably seat and party the entire 70-person wedding. We had live music in what we referred to as "The Barn" (the main building on the Moriah Side) Friday and Saturday night. The space has great acoustics, but we had to move all of the furniture to the walls to make room for dancing. We had a three-piece (sax, bass, guitar) and a four-piece bluegrass band (Bottom Dollar String Band out of Austin). I was definitely surprised at how well the place handled the sound and think it could do something heavier (like with a drum set) but apparently loud late night music can be an issue with neighbors so I'd be hesitant to bring in a band that was too loud. We had no problems with the bluegrass band playing till midnight or so. We provided a number for the neighbors to call us directly if there were any issues. The tall ceilings and wood interior do a lot to absorb without being too reverby, and you could hear comfortably in the fire pit area. Food was catered by Vanilla Orchid out of Austin, they prepped everything beforehand and used the kitchen in Moriah to cook all of it onsite, came out fantastic. There's a service entry area on the western side of the property that was very helpful. Rentals were through Marquee out of Austin, they charged like $600 extra to deliver out to Marble Falls but got a bunch of quality tables, dinnerware, and glassware so it was all good. We did the bar ourselves, photographer was Olivia Vale. All vendors are highly recommended and now know the property well."
