  • Great location, 4 1/2 stars

"Sachem trail is across the street allowing family members to ski on their own schedules. The mountain views from the living areas and both bedrooms was beautiful. The condo was well stocked with kitchen supplies, bathroom supplies as well as games and books. The living room had a flat screen TV with premium cable channels for those late night movies. If you are cooking for the family, the kitchen has plenty of pots, pans, dishes, coffee filters, and some basic condiments. Shaw grocery store was about 7 minutes away and had everything I needed. We really enjoyed the open concept kitchen, dining room, living room area where the family gathered when not on the slopes. Ladies, the only drawback was the narrow bathrooms that could really use an update( My husband and sons said they really didn't notice). Major plus, my dog was welcome and many neighbors also had dogs so no disapproving frowns walking down the street."

  • Charming, well-equipped cabin in a scenic and peaceful corner of Vermont

"My husband and I stayed for six days in mid-August in Ron's and Dottie's idyllic cabin on a hill. We enjoyed it very much. The cabin, while simple, is provided with everything one needs, in abundance. It was spotlessly clean and everything was in excellent condition. Facing west, allowing for beautiful afternoons and sunsets, the cabin has many windows, all with screens and shades, so it can be as light and breezy as one wishes inside. Outside there is a huge deck with Adirondack chairs and a picnic table. This was our favorite part... the sunsets were staggering, but we even enjoyed a summer storm. The area is lovely, with fields and woods, near the small and friendly village of Belmont (or Mechanicsville until it was renamed in the early 20th century); and the cabin is set well back from a little-traveled road. It is deliciously quiet. A thick folder put together by Ron and Dottie has tons of information on the area, including menus and maps, and suggestions of pertinent websites to follow up on. Ron was extremely friendly and helpful. He was on call for any questions, easy to contact, and very nice!, going out of his way, for example, to help us find a hike on our last day, and answering all questions (including a couple of unnecessary ones due to not having read the folder) with cheerful patience. He and Dottie gave us delicious large summer squash from their garden. All in all we felt most welcome in a relaxed atmosphere, while at the same time enjoying total privacy. We hope to return. Highly recommended!"

  • Winter trip to remember

"My family and I stayed here for Christmas and new years for our first ski trip in over 15 years. The house is so cozy and fun! Air hockey and roulette downstairs in the basement with the gas fireplace and the most comfortable couch in the world. It was the best place to hang out. Overall the location is great and such a short drive to okemo or jackson gore. Everything about the place was better than we expected. ."

  • Home away from home

"What a comfortable peaceful place to spend some winter time! After an "interesting" ride up the road, passing a beautiful lake on the left and Okemo trails on the right, we pulled up to the log cabin which was secluded enough without being in the middle of nowhere. The house is beyond comfortable with plenty of sleeping and seating room. The kitchen is huge with more than enough supplies. The hot tub was a real treat! The living room has three walls of windows with a wood burning stove. I slept in that room one night and woke up to a magnificent sunrise. Leslee was easily reachable and caretaker Jim was a gem! The back road to Okemo was useful. All of my guests were quite impressed with the comfort of this house and it's location."
