  • Beautiful home and amenities with an awesome water view!

"The property is excellantly maintained and the furnishings are perfect for a relaxing stay on the island. The view is gorgeous and we felt right at home. A lovely basket of goodies (coffee especially and creamer in the fridge!) were awaiting our arrival."

  • Celebrating a milestone birthday!

"This home was the PERFECT place to celebrate my 50th birthday with friends and family. Every bedroom is so very tastefully outfitted and comfortable, and each has a view of the water. Everyone had a wonderful night's sleep. There are four bedrooms and a lovely, single bed tucked away in its own, private room downstairs. There are also 4 bathrooms (the master bathroom should be registered as a Wonder of the World.) We held a private dinner party one evening and parking was no problem. Despite it being a somewhat chilly evening, people found the wrap-around deck a good spot for conversation (I cannot even imagine what a delight it must be in better weather!) A private chef cooked for the dinner party, and he and his sous chef were pleased by the state-of-the-art cooking appliances and had plenty of room to work their magic. Plus, there is service for 16 (plates, soup/salad bowls, wine glasses, water glasses, silver)! We had to rent an extra table to accommodate the 15 guests--but, as you'd suspect, there was more than enough room for an extra 8-top table. Also, the acoustics of the dining and living rooms worked brilliantly with my little Bluetooth speaker for dinner music. Given the private chef and the logistics of the dinner party, I was in contact with the owner regularly for days leading up to the event, and she was super gracious with her time and with her suggestions. Very simply, she was a lovely and attentive host. All in all, it was a magical weekend; the house was a huge contributor to the enjoyment of my celebration. Several people, including the chef, expressed interest in contacting the owner about renting the home for themselves. This is a home not to be missed--I will definitely rent this gem again, this time in the summertime when the views and the private beach access can be more fully enjoyed!"

  • School reunion group

"Excellent. The "finder" of your property was "universally" applauded. Beautiful home, lovely setting, close to the city, amenities, adventures. Now 60 yrs + reunion group gets together every 2 years even after 35 years. 6-7 couples (some occasionally without the spouse), we like adventures (not too extreme), cooking in a group, and hanging on the patio talking and laughing about our legendary (and sometimes imaginary, I suppose) adventures, now and in the past. Great to have the canoes and kayaks for pleasant paddling in Eagle Harbor. The visitors come from NH, Wisconsin, Oregon, Idaho, SF, DC, and SW Washington state. The lawn perfect for "ladder golf," bocce, croquet. The gardens lovely. The biking a bit arduous-this island is not flat-but doable, even for "older (but not old) geezers." The game room (Ping-Pong, pool, foosball) was nice. Suggestions (not criticisms) previously communicated to the owner post visit: We like to cook together - you were lacking a 12 skillet. Get an 8,10,12 inch non-stick skillet set. In same vein, your knives were OK, but certainly could have use a sharpening (or simply buy a recommended sharper and keep it there). The clam shells on the driveway and patio left by the gulls "cracking" clams lent a quaint and "seaside" touch, but probably should have been swept off before our arrival - it was cute, but bare feet and broken clam shell do not go together. Leave the push broom you lent us out and available or just blower it out prior to guest arrival. Very minor. And finally, but also minor (and mentioned in my email to the owner), the bedrooms and bathrooms were lovely. But the commodes (toilets) are dated and while the flushing serviceable (although we had to plunge one of the guest bathroom toilets), it was slow (but successful). I would recommend "Comfort Height" (ADA height) toilets in the bath downstairs, the master and one guest bath. Maybe leave one regular height in one of the guests. Upgrade to the elongated models from the "round front." Flushing technology (yes, I am in the plumbing wholesale business) has improved greatly over the last 10-15 years and I think you can do better, even on less water. I want to emphasize this was very, very minor and probably only I gave this much thought."

  • Perfect Quiet Getaway

"My wife and I spent a week at the Little Farmhouse. Sure, the pictures look great. Obviously some care went into the design and decor. Wait until you visit and then step into the cottage - it is amazing. Caroline has made incredibly thoughtful choices that are not only beautiful, but give the visitors every practical thing that could be desired. There was fresh ground coffee waiting for us! A bed and towels for the pooch! We felt absolutely catered to the entire time. The location of the cottage on the island is great. It's quiet, but easy to get anywhere. That particular area is very walkable with trails nearby. When not out exploring the island, we were more than happy to sit on the porch while the dog rolled around in the grass. I can't recommend the Little Farmhouse enough. If you are visiting Bainbridge Island, that is the place to stay."
