This is our third year there. We enjoy it because the location is close to the bay and the Gulf and the backyard is very private, attractive and shaded. Overall, the location is perfect for us. It work well for our dog too because the backyard is fenced and the neighborhood is a very dog-friendly place.
Owner response:Thank-you - always look forward to your visits.

We visited for 5 days last summer, and i must say, it was, by FAR, our favorite vacation rental ever!! I'm back on this page now to reserve another week for this summer. I really can't say enough good things... 1st, the location is PERFECT: Quite, charming, friendly local neighbors, non-touristy, wild peacocks roam, the bay can be seen from the front porch, and a quite, non-busy, clean, prefect beach is a 2 minute kid-friendly bike ride away! There is SOOOO much to do, so close!! 2nd, the cottage is GREAT: CLEAN, comfy beds, homey feel, well stocked with great movies, games, dishes, towels, KAYAKS and BIKES! 3rd, Adele is wonderful to do 'business' with and really made our stay a joy!!
Recommended for:Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We loved exploring Historic Long Beach Village and watching the Peacocks, having our traditional waffle ice cream cone at Scoop Daddys and visiting the Mote Aquarium and observing the manatees. Next we will plan on more time.

This is a pleasant and cozy place. Also, well-equipped for fun with bikes, kayaks, secluded backyard and deck with hot tub and grill. We look forward to coming again.

Kayaking around Jewfish Key at 7pm and then walking on the low-tide sandbar at the north end of Jewfish - seeing crabs, urchins, crustaceans and the like. Kayaking the Mangrove tunnels at Lido Key, snorkeling at Point of the Rocks and mostly swimming Here at the Best Beach.

This place was such a great find. Like the previous comment. I'm afraid it may be booked forever if word gets out. It had every immenity we could think of. Very comfortable, lots of towels, hot water, the layout was spacious but still had the cozy beach feel. It's 3 minutes to walk to the water and watch out for the peacocks. There's a restaurant right at the end of the corner if you want a quick snack and don't want to cook. We visited the Mote Aquarium while we visited and that place was great. The kids had a wonderful time. We can't wait to go back.

This house was such a find! I almost hesitate to rave about it for fear that it will be booked next time we want to stay! It is very well-equipped and quaintly decorated. Everything was clean, new and it really felt like home. Great location on the island and good walking proximity to nearby restaurants and beach access. The "extras" were quite a treat - kayak, grill, hot tub, beach toys, etc. Our friends rented the 1-bedroom on the property and it was nice to have everyone close by for meals and socializing. Adele was a pleasure to work with and was also helpful by phone during our stay. Thanks so much and we look forward to our next vacation at the French Cottage.
