"The Cypress House On 1st Street" is a perfect place for a relaxing vacation. Within minutes this welcoming house with it's open floor plan, wrap-a-round porch with hammock and chairs will be your "Home Away-From Home". We found Cedar Key in a National Geographic "Zip Code" article featuring Cedar Key, Florida about ten years ago. We love this house and love this town! The house has 2,293 square feet,allowing you to comfortable enjoy your visit in Cedar Key. The GULF views from the front porch and a beautiful short walk-2 blocks-,allows you to stroll to Cedar Key's restaurants and gift shops. Be sure to read the reviews from other guests!
Walking or renting a local golf cart is the local means of travel. The town is known for being a special place. Off the beaten track, it helps maintain this "Old Florida" feel. You'll get the feeling to slow down minutes after coming into Cedar Key. Located on a typically quiet street,yet walking distance to many attactions,THE CYPRESS HOUSE allows you the opportunity to do as much or little as you want.
Outstanding fishing, art work, restaurants and fresh seafood are there to enjoy. Affordable Charter boats are available for fishing, or to take you to the neighboring islands for shelling and swimming, or a romantic picnic. Kayak,bike, horse & buggy ride,or stroll around town.
Cedar Key does not have a single traffic light in town. There is a library, hardware store, grocery store, convenience store, post office, 2 banks, and other store fronts within a few blocks fro the house.

Welcome to "THE CYPRESS HOUSE ON 1ST STREET",Cedar Key! This photo shows us standing on 1st Street, two blocks from the house. This is the best place to watch the sunset. With my camera in hand,one of the locals, while fishing, volunteered to take our picture. Our smiles are reflecting his good humor and good will. Two common traits of the kind people in Cedar Key. We hope you enjoy the fishing, reading, relaxing, biking,kayaking, restaurants,shopping, boating,hammock swinging,star gazing or whatever you like during your visit in Cedar Key!
The normally calm waters of the Gulf Of Mexico and variety of fish, hold a keen interest for my fisherman, husband. The Arts and Atmosphere of this quaint town lured me to Cedar Key. The location is a definite plus! Once we park the car, we can walk everywhere we want,the docks,restaurants,art galleries etc.
Cedar Keys unique location affords spectacular views of both sunrise and sunset! The upper bedroom allows the sunrise's golden glow view. One of the most photographed sites, "The Honey Moon Cottage", is located in the Gulf across from our house. Presently the pelican and other birds use it for their roost. All good for excellant photography! More pictures can be seen on our website. So whole heartedly we welcome you and hope you have a wonderful vacation!

"The Cypress House On 1st Street" has many advantages for a perfect stay in Cedar Key. If you would like to bring your boat or kayak, we are a few blocks from the fishing dock. The house has a long drive along side of the house and ample parking in front of the house for a small boat. There are about 6-7 small steps to the front porch. The first floor has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, laundry room, living room & kitchen. The open and wide design could accommodate most guests with limited mobility. Those escaping the colder north will love the location. Once you are settled into the house, you can stroll around town, visit the shops, eat at the seafood restaurants, or just sit on the porch in the adirondak chairs or swing in the hammock, with views of the Gulf of Mexico across the street. Our hope is that you have a restful, wonderful, blessed vacation ! My husband loves to fish the waters. I love to oil paint the scenery, read relax, shop and walk, when visiting.
