Welcome, Bienvenue, Willkommen, Benvenuto, Bienvenido, Fáillte, Our cottage is just 1 mile inland from the Wild Atlantic Way, nestled between the Kyber pass to the west, and Slieve Elva to the east surrounded by the Burren hills of the Caher Valley. This unique karst landscape with its alpine flora is a haven for botanists and geologists. The fauna, including foxes, badgers, pine martins and wild goats roam freely over the hills and can be spotted using the binoculars that we provide for our guests. The cottage is perfectly situated as a starting point to many of the walking trails with spectacular views of Galway Bay. We provide maps and brochures featuring these trails.

The cottage is wheelchair accessible throughout so it's ideal for seniors. The master bedroom has a large ensuite bathroom and walk in closet. The main bathroom has a full/power shower and bathtub. Pitch pine floors throughout. Solar panels for heated water.

Phone - Please be aware there is no landline and no mobile phone coverage/cellular data access in the cottage due to its location in the caher valley. To get a signal, you will need to go 1/2 mile toward the coast road to pick up a reliable signal.

Fermoyle Cottage August 2020
The cottage is situated in the Burren Co. Clare and is surrounded by a captivating landscape. Fanore beech is about a mile away. You can drive there - we opted to walk down the scenic country road alongside the Caher river. There is plenty to do in the area and the cottage is only a short drive to local points of interest, pubs restaurants, shops, etc. The cottage itself and the facilities at the cottage exceeded our expectations. Our hosts had left us a welcome pack of the all the essentials so we didn't have to worry about rushing off to do some shopping when we arrived. We've recommended the cottage to friends and family.

Lovely house in a great location
The house was in a perfect location for the beautiful beach at Fanore and for exploring more widely in Clare. It was very clean and well equipped and we enjoyed the welcome pack. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. We missed a washing line as we were fortunate to have good weather, but there was plenty of space to dry clothes in the hot press. The satellite TV reception was not working while we were there. We contacted the owner who replied promptly and was helpful, although it couldn't be resolved due to the mountain location. Our only small gripe was that the grass around the house had been allowed to grow far too long which was not ideal for the children's ball games. All in all a fabulous holiday rental.

Lovely!
The cottage is situated happily in the middle of nowhere, with pretty views to The Burren. It is extremely well-appointed, the only thing missing is mobile reception, but that is not the owners' fault, nor is it necessarily a bad thing. When we had a slight problem, the owners were quick to fix it. Thank you very much!

I'm originally from the US and my wife is from County Clare. She grew up on a farm in this valley where we built the cottage in 2009. She has fond memories of hiking the mountains, horse riding and swimming in the crystal clear water of the Caher River which runs close to the cottage. We hope you enjoy your stay in this special part of the world.
