is well cared for and Raymond is an excellent host. The location near Ballyvaughn and just steps from Bishop's Quarter strand is ideal. I am looking forward to staying again in 2027!
The Kitchen was fully equipped for cooking and parking felt safe and easy. Check in was easy after a long drive for us. The environment was beautiful and long walks on the beach and dunes were wonderful. Host was very responsive and helpful during the stay.
We had a wonderful time staying at this lovable cottage. The wood stove in the living room was great while relaxing in the evenings. The on-demand hot water in the upstairs bathroom shower was terrific for starting our days exploring the Burren and Aran Islands and other attractions in the area.
We loved having our own little house with everything we needed. It was a quick walk to the beach and wet had a beautiful view. There's fields all around the house with darling, curious cows too! A cozy wood burning stove in the lounge with views of the ever changing hillsides. Also, highly recommend Monk's restaurant, which you can see across the water into Ballyvaughan.
A beautiful cottage, just a short walk from an ocean beach, and a short drive from some of the best seafood restaurants! A perfect, warm, dry, cozy base of operations for exploring The Burren!!
Our stay a Bishop’s Quarter was extremely relaxing, peaceful, and pleasant. It was nice to get away from blaring police sirens, revving motorcycles, and endless fireworks being shot off all times of the day. The neighbors are quiet, too (they’re cows hahah). Raymond was quick to respond to my messages and was accommodating with our needs. He was pleasant and friendly and came down a few times to check in. The cottage was clean and in a beautiful location, we walked down to Galway Bay every evening. I don’t have any complaints at all. I found the bed in the en suite to be one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in. I didn’t want to leave. This was our first experience with self-catering and it was great. If you don’t mind self-catering, I highly recommend Raymond’s yellow-door cottage!

Beautiful situated cottage looking out on the North Clare coast.
Very convenient to Burren college of Art … the beauty spots of the county ..
Safe and plenty of parking.. big garden around the house.
Perfect location at the northernmost point of the Burren, a great starting point for excursions. The house has everything you need, a beautiful setting, and maximum peace and quiet! Very friendly, accommodating host! Wonderful vacation, we'd love to come back!
We loved our stay! You can walk down to the water and see the tide pools. We had our three children with us. Ray was an amazing host and very accommodating. We are sorry we missed his visit. This cottage is in a great central location and we enjoyed the cleanliness and layout. We would give it 100 stars and definitely come back! Thank you Ray!
The house is large and well located in the Burren region, close to the seashore, very peaceful.
Arrival and departure procedures very easy, the owner was very friendly.
From the moment we checked in Ray was a wonderful host. The house was very clean and cozy. The location is unbeatable--right near the ocean with a farm in the backyard and a short drive to local sights like Galway and the Cliffs of Moher. Could not have picked a better place to stay and hope to be back soon.
Our first trip to Ireland and our first stay and it did not disappoint! Well, the weather could have been better. The house is perfect and Raymond was quick to answer any questions we had. Kitchen had everything we needed, beds were comfy. We used this as a home base and did lots of driving to explore the area. Thanks again, Raymond!
We had a nice relaxing stay at Raymond's cottages. The cottage was very neat and clean and the beds were very comfy. Everything worked well. We used the TV box to charge our devices, as our European adapter had previously failed. Great place to stay by the beach. Would stay again! Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Ballyvaughn. Ray is a great host--check in was a breeze and the location of the house is terrific-- close to town, but quiet--with great access to Bishop's Quarter--a lovely strand for walking- The view from the house couldn't be prettier. This would be a great spot for a family, as there is plenty of room. We will be back for sure.

Lovely location
When we searched VRBO site for a property, we included a hot tub b in the search.I also emailed VRBO to ask if there was a tub as there were no photos. VRBO replied yesThere is NO hot tub at this property
We wish we could have stayed longer! It's a really nice modern place with plenty of space, beautiful views and a great location! Its a short walk down to the beach and a short drive into the village. Ray was very responsive. There was an issue with the hot water the night we arrived, (which turned out to be minor) Ray replied to every message quickly and it was taken care of the next morning. Highly recommended.
We spent 5 days in this beautiful college in Ballyvaughan.Location is great. Just a short walk to the beach and a 5 min drive to the village, where we could find easily a shop that provides with food and all you may need for your stay. Good starting point for the exploration of Irlands western part. The interior of the house is as described. Nothing was missing for us and we enjoyed the spacious kitchen and the cozy living room. Plenty of bedrooms and several bathrooms.Check-in was organized by Raymond in a very easy way, Raymond was always reachable and a perfect host. We would decide to come back any time.

A good location but the house can be improved
First of all, I have to say that we are used to VRBO's Premier Hosts. Our expectations are higher for Premier Hosts, especially since we paid more than at any other locations in the past.
Let's start with the good things. The location is awesome, close to many activities and a beautiful sunset. We took several great photos. The home has 3 bedrooms, which could easily sleep 6. Also, the owner was kind enough to let us check in earlier, which was good.
On the other side:
- The home has several (kind of) spider webs, and the kitchen cabinets had a smell (like an old shack).
- The cutlery was old, and some pieces didn't have handles or were broken.
- Only one roll of toilet paper, with no spare.
- No external garbage bin.
- No basic condiments such as salt.
- A fireplace without wood.
- The internet was slow, not workable even for texting.
- The old heating system was hard to set; some of the handles were so old they didn't stick to their hubs.
- Beds were small for tall people (5'10"), and some were uncomfortable to the point where we took the kids' beds instead.
Maybe we are picky, but I am pretty sure many of these are show-stoppers for others. For us, they were, and we left a day earlier.

So sorry your stay didn’t live up to your expectations. If you would have told me I would have made every effort to address them.

Highly recommend this detached holiday cottage just a mile or so outside Ballyvaughn. It is just off N67 on lane to the sea so it is just 200 yard walk for a morning swimThe cottage is roomy,3 good size bedrooms,(2 upstairs) large kitchen with big dining table and large lawned garden and is the end house so lovely views to fields and sea. Peaceful setting.Host replies immediately to any requests and is very helpful, called in 1st evening, he recommended local restaurants. Ample parking.Really enjoyed our stay in a beautiful area.
