This 140 square meter (1500 square feet) three-bedroom three-bathroom triplex apartment is located on the 4th floor in a charming and newly renovated five-story townhouse (together with 2br 2ba VRBO Listing #303342), steps from Saint Sulpice, Saint Germain des Près, and the lovely Jardin de Luxembourg. The house is found on one the most chic addresses in Paris - the very elegant, quiet, wide and extremely safe Rue de Tournon (also home to the French Senate and the Garde Républicaine). There are only two residential units on the top floors of this building, and both of them belong to the same owner. The bottom floors are occupied by a discrete art gallery open only a few hours a day.
This flat was fully renovated in 2010 by an interior designer using the finest materials and finishes, including a top of the line made-to-measure kitchen with Lacanche stove, marble countertops, and stocked with Gien china (a renowned French brand), antique oak and slate floors, custom wood library, and luxurious bathrooms finished in marble, antique teak floors, tumbled marble tiles, and with Horus faucets. There is air conditioning in all rooms.
It can sleep up to 7 people (including a air bed for one person).
This unit faces full west and the living room is flooded with sunshine all afternoon until sunset (which occurs around 10pm in the summer!) The bedrooms are quiet and face an interior courtyard.
This apartment is ideally situated in the middle of all the best that the left bank has to offer! Rue de Tournon is the continuation of the very central Rue de Seine, which runs through the heart of St Germain des Pres. The closest metro stops are Odeon and Mabillon, both which are a 2-3 minute walk from the apartment. The beatiful Jardin de Luxembourg is a one minute walk away from the flat as is the Eglise Saint Sulpice. The Carrefour de L'Odeon is a two minute walk away, and a little farther (five minutes on foot) is the Eglise Saint Germain and Cafe de Flore.
Please note that Bedroom 2 & Bedroom 3 are accessed through a covered outdoor passageway on the fifth floor. The passageway is approximately 3-4 meters (10 feet) long, covered by a permanent roof and in the winter on the sides by chic Moroccan tenting material. See fifth floor floorplan below - specifically the passageway between the kitchen and bedrooms.

We so enjoyed our stay. The apartment is beautifully appointed and full of character. Given that Paris can be noisy at night, the bedrooms in this apartment are comfortable and quiet so a good night's sleep is guaranteed. The views from the terrace and upper bedrooms are amazing and while were were there during the winter, we dream of going back and having dinner or drinks on the terrace. The owner requires a large deposit for this beautiful apartment, but he returned it in full within 48 hours of our departure. The neighborhood is fantastic and we were so happy to spend New Years in such a perfect area of Paris. Plus, with all the stairs we were guaranteed a great work out everyday, so being so close to one of the best patisseries in Paris was not a problem. :)Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We were 3 couples (early 40's) traveling together and this place could not have been more perfect! The photos really do not do the place justice. We arrived to a beautifully appointed space and Choi & Clement the driver helped us with our luggage. The stairs up to the flat are arduous, but they remind you that you're young! & in Paris! It was also a great way to work off the cheese & bread we ate daily. We walked everywhere & the Odeon Metro stop was around the corner if we needed it. Shopped at the Monoprix like locals and had cocktail hour every evening with our friends on the terrace. The balcony was a place we spent a lot of time and at night the biggest surprise was watching the Eiffel Tower light up. The location is close enough to St. Germain to be right in it when you want, but situated on a quieter street so at night you could not hear a peep. With three couples, I would recommend deciding ahead if time who will get the biggest room--it definitely has more value. The other two rooms are great, but smaller and they share a toilet, so it's better for two couples who know each other well. The space is so sound, you really don't hear any noise from your housemates. The art, the furnishings, the lighting, the kitchen, everything--was exceptionally tasteful and perfect. This place is very special and we will definitely be returning! (Highly recommend a cocktail bar close by called Le Schmuck, Cire Trudon for candles & Paul in St. Germain for morning café & pain lardon. All within a quick, beautiful walk. Miss it already.)Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our week long stay at this lovely apartment was wonderful, everything was exactly as advertised and pictured. Doing business with Ludovic the owner was a pleasurable experience and our security deposit was returned in a timely fashion. Everything was ready when we arrived, we were greeted by the housekeeper who explained the home to us, we had everything we needed in the kitchen, the neighborhood was quiet and within walking distance of most major Paris sights. It served us well as a home base for our visit and it’s nice to know we have a great place to stay for our future visits to Paris. I would highly recommend this apartment for families looking for a lovely, charming, and quaint typical Parisenne apartment.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family loved staying at this apartment. The reward for climbing those steps is having a beautiful terrace with views of the Senate dome and the St. Germain neighborhood. The owner was very helpful with advice on nearby restaurants and businesses. We loved being able to make our own meals. I highly recommend this place.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Our family stayed at this beautiful apartment for our childrens Spring Break in mid March. My wifes father traveled with us, so the 3rd bedroom on the top floor worked out very well for both functionality & privacy. This apartments layout is really perfect for young families. We are very much looking forward to staying here again on our next visit to Paris. The only caveat that I would mention is that there are a fair number of stairs to climb to reach the entrance (there is no elevator), so all travelers should be prepared for this ahead of time. The owner was kind enough to provide us a contact with a driver (Clement) who met us at the train station and drove us to the apartment. He was extremely helpful in many ways. He speaks excellent English and has a historians knowledge of Paris. He drove us to the apartment, introduced us to the friendly housekeeper who lives across the street, and helped us with our luggage. The apartment itself has a very interesting layout spanning 3 floors. The photos on the website are accurate, but pictures really don't convey what a unique and interesting design that this apartment offers. The views are excellent and the furnishing is all high end. As far as location is concerned, I can't think of a better place to be in Paris. Rue de Tournon is a quiet street, yet very centrally located. The Jardin du Luxembourg is an ideal place for a morning jog and is only a block away. It has an excellent childrens playground as well. Additionally, there is a great market (Marche de Saint Germain) and bakery (Gerard Mulot) within short walking distance. Our family even walked to sites such as Notre Dame and the Louvre without any difficulty. The Metro is nearby as well for places a little further afield. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would hope to do so again if its available during our next trip to France.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Choosing a special place that would comfortably accomodate three couples was not an easy task given we wanted to stay in the coveted St Germain district. When we found this property we were thrilled. But even more so after our arrival! It was the perfect place for our week...close to the shops, museums, great restaurants and, in our opinion, on one of the best residential streets in Paris. For those nights that we decided to eat in we had the pleasure of cooking in a gourmet kitchen that was outfitted with the owners personal china, cooking utensils, linens etc. The entire apartment had the feel of a real home (which it is) rather than a rental. From the furniture, to the art, to the linens and recently renovated en suite bathrooms, no details were overlooked. In fact, it was hard to leave! The charming owner was readily available to answer any questions as well as his property manager who lives across the street. We are already talking about returning for a month's stay!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Beautiful Luxury Apartment, Fabulous Location, Accommodating Owner When we arrived, we were met by the caretaker who helped carry our bags to the fourth floor, which was most welcomed. The apartment is beautiful, recently renovated, using quality materials, and much more personal than other rentals that we saw. It was well equipped with everything there to make us comfortable, from ironed sheets to service for 12. The layout offers privacy for each of the three bedrooms with in-suite bathrooms, making it perfect for a girls trip or for several couples staying together. With the three floor arrangement, however, it would not be suitable for a family with young children. The location is perfect for enjoying all that the Left Bank has to offer. Located in a quiet residential area within a block of the Luxenbourg Gardens and yet only 2 blocks from the restaurants and sidewalk cafes of San Germain. Equally convenient, there are several metro stations with in a five minute walk and several wonderful museums also within the same radius. It made everything so easy. The owner was very accommodating. He handled all of our requests promptly and our security deposit was returned on a timely bias. All and all our entire experience was amazing. For a truly memorable stay in Paris, we would highly recommend this apartment.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The apartment is spectacular; the views from the terrace and esp. the top floor bedroom are fantastic. Had no problem with the stairs unless one has real issues with mobility they are easy to get up and down (and our ages ranged from 3 to 72); also from my experience in old Parisian buildings the tiny elevators one sometimes finds are very prone to break down. The stairs inside the apartment are not safe for small toddlers or crawling babies but our 3 year old was fine. The kitchen was a rare treat; I’ve stayed in a variety of vrbo type apts in various places but never had anything like a lacanche to work with, fantastic stove, and a great layout. We prefer shopping and cooking to eating out and this was the perfect apartment for that. With three kids (3, 5, 8) we spend a fair bit of time in the Luxembourg gardens and you can’t get much closer than this; also close to the Marche St. Germain etc.; great location. Bedrooms all spacious and plenty of privacy. Listing was accurate, property was clean and very well looked after, owner was very helpful. Had a great time and can’t wait to go back.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for this super nice review, Missy. We are happy that you had a good stay. Nonetheless, we want to specify that we think that the place is not too safe for kids below 7 years old and that for all kids below that age, we have a strict waiver to be signed.

Our family (2 adults with 20 and 17 year old) stayed here over the winter holidays and greatly enjoyed our trip. We were visiting our daughter who was studying in Paris. I had stayed with my daughter for a week in November in the two bedroom apartment located directly below (VBRO #303342) in the building available from the same owner. The owners were so accomodating and made our stay very enjoyable. The apartment is QUITE SPECTACTULAR, from the beautiful terrace overlooking Saint Sulpice, the Eiffel Tower and Paris rooftops to the impeccable decor and well maintained facilities. The apartment was remolded over a year ago but the entire property is spotless and quite new. The pictures do not do it justice. It is incredibly decorated and extremely comfortable. The location is perfect with the Jardin du Luxenbourg only a half block away along with wonderful cafes, boulangerie, pattiserie, open markets and restaurants all within a short distance. It is easily accessible to the metro but you are very centrally located to walk most everywhere. My son and husband are runners and ran everyday from the apartment enjoying all the sights Paris has to offer. We were comfortably able to entertain friends and cook dinner for ten people with enough beautiful dinnerware. The kitchen is very well equipped and the range is wonderful to cook on. We cannot say enough about this very special rental in Paris. The incredible two bedroom downstairs along with this beautiful three bedroom apartment would be ideal for extended families or friends traveling together. Enjoy this truly special Paris property!! We cannot wait to return very soon....Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I recently stayed at this beautiful apartment for three weeks in October 2011. Everything was very clean and in great working order. We loved having breakfast on the terrace, which was also a perfect place for a late afternoon glass of wine. When we arrived it was 80 degrees outside and when we left it was 28, heat and air conditioning both worked well. The kitchen is nicely equipped and the range was terrific. We had several dinner parties of 8 to 10 people and we had plenty of very pretty tableware to go around. All the bedrooms were comfortable, bathrooms and showers roomy although one toilet room was very tiny. Be aware that this apartment has a lot of stairs and is not appropriate for everyone! Location is central and within easy walking distance to most everything. There was a construction project happening on both sides of the building while we were there which was very annoying in the morning after late dinners out (it is Paris after all) but I believe it was slated to finish up soon.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Jackie and Tom. We loved having you and were also very impressed and honored to have Tom cooking in our kitchen! We also thank you for having extended your stay to our smaller downstairs unit. Besides those renovations from 9am to 4pm, indeed almost over, the street is one of the most quiet of Paris and the bedrooms all face the courtyard. Also you are on the top floor of the building so no one is walking on your head. As shown on the floorplan and some pictures, you have an interior staircase leading to the kitchen, terrace and bedroom 2 and another one leading to bedroom 3. Floors are not high and the advantage is that each bedroom is on a seperate floor allowing for more privacy.
