Belfast apartment description
Belfast, located in the heart of the mid-coast, and voted one of the top ten 'culturally cool towns in America' by USA Today, is the perfect location to experience your Maine adventures. Our 1 beroom 'Gallery Suite' is part of the old historic Phoenix Row building (circa; 1824) located on High Street. This large unit, exquisitely renovated and furnished will be your home-away-from-home.You will be steps away from a working waterfront that abounds with art galleries, boutiques/shops, cafes, restaurants, movies and live theater. Street musicians and performing artists line the sidewalks for the weekly Friday Night Art Walk, when the galleries showcase nationally recognized and local artists. Thursdays bring Summer Nights, where there's dancin' in the streets to local and regional bands. In July, The Celtic Festival is a salute to Belfast's Scots/Irish heritage and the Wooden Boat Competition is a tribute to the Maine maritime history. Every August, The Belfasts Maskers presents a Broadway musical under the stars overlooking the Harbor. See more at city chamber of commerce.
The Gallery Suite offers you the best of both worlds: private in-town living, steps from restaurants, galleries and theater and minutes from the harbor, hiking and beaches.
This 1 beroom suite features a very spacious living room tastefully furnished and decorated with period antiques, tin ceilings and a fireplace; a modern, fully equipped eat-in kitchen; and a full bath (claw foot tub and shower). Large private deck overlooks Belfast Harbor. Air conditioned with cable, a washer/dryer and a pull-out couch in the living room.

Historic Belfast Apartment
Historic Belfast Apartment
My husband and I chose this Belfast apartment for our "base" in our week-long Maine experience. While Belfast is a perfect location to explore mid-coast Maine, the apartment is in a great location in downtown Belfast close to restaurants, shops and the harbor. We enjoyed sitting on the deck looking at the beautiful harbor view each morning and evening. The bright and modern kitchen had all the necessary utensils--we took advantage of them and made a great breakfast each morning! The living room was spacious and well-furnished. The bedroom had a very comfortable bed and plenty of closet space. The bathroom was charming and nicely kept. The owner, Archie, did an excellent job of helping us with any questions or concerns. We couldn't be happier with our experience and would whole-heartedly recommend this apartment.

PERFECT RENTAL IN BELFAST!
PERFECT RENTAL IN BELFAST!
My husband and I rented this property for our anniversary weekend. Generally we stay in Belfast annually either at a hotel or rent a cabin on the water which are across the bridge from town. This year we really wanted to be in town. WE LOVED THIS PROPERTY. Seriously, I would consider living there if I ever moved to Belfast. You go up one flight of stairs to your door and upon entering it leads you up a private staircase to a very spacious apartment. I am not a lover of antiques as some people may be but found the furnishings to be very quaint and not overdone. The kitchen was modern. The bathroom was old charm but very nice and clean. The whole rental was immaculate. The Celtic Festival was in town this weekend we really enjoyed the spectacular fireworks off the lovely private deck to our rental. We enjoyed Darby's downstairs where we like to eat breakfast. The Maine Crab Cakes are to die for! If you like pub food Rollie's is a favorite of ours. They have the best hot wings of anyplace I've tried in Maine. Pizza is great too. And for your fresh seafood Young's Lobster Pound is the place. Take your wine, tablecloth, and a candle and enjoy delicious seafood on the water overlooking the bay. I can't say enough about how easy it was to work with Archie and the extra touches he did to make our stay memorable. I would definitely recommend this property.

The apartment was very large with ample closet space. It was remodeled nicely and conveniently located downtown. All the necessary kitchen supplies and bath and bed lines were provided and were in great condition. Outdoor furniture was also provided. The off-street parking was inconvenient. The back patio was nice with a harbor view but we were unable to use the stairs down to the street level (closer to where our car was) as this was a city labeled fire escape. However, we saw the owner using it daily from his apartment which was also on the second floor. The AC was a window AC in the bedroom which turned out okay as we had cool weather.

Owner response: Thank you so much for your feedback. We were happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay in our guest suite. Your comments help us see what steps we can take to make our guests even more comfortable. We realize the off street over-night parking ordinance can be inconvenient and we would like to work with the city to try to change that in the future. Regarding the back fire-exit stairwell, please understand that daily use by patrons is an insurance/liability issue. Again, thank you for your patronage, it was a pleasure having you visit our lovely town. Please come again.
