"The Gills could not be anymore charming and comfortable, and the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing week with family & friends. The attention to detail was amazing and found myself roaming the house just looking at everything which really pulled in the essence of Maine and Bailey's Island. The ocean views are spectacular and were especially enjoyed from the large deck around the house, with swinging chair. Their is a secret swimming hole right out front of the house where we spent our afternoons jumping from rocks. The house was very clean, the beds super comfortable and I think the upstairs shower is now one of my favorites ever. Staying at the Gills really made our vacation one of the best ever and can not wait to comeback!"

FANTASTIC! The photos don't do it justice! No sir!
"We had time to take a break from our tourist business to head Downeast for a bit and this was just what the doctor ordered. First - the cottage is IMMACULATE! Everything we needed and more. The deck is a sun scoop and we had lovely weather to enjoy some apps and refreshments. The fenced in little yard was perfect for our Dachshunds, one of whom found 2 tennis balls, he was in heaven! The pleasant beach/point area was quiet and relaxing. I wish we had time for a few days, maybe next year. Billy provided us with chairs and we hiked out to the point and read our books with just the sound of of the tide coming in. Our little Doxies loved exploring the rocks. Next time, a longer stay as work allows!
We live on a sailboat in the winter and work renting sailboats and teaching in Maine in the summers so it was a treat to enjoy the coast albeit briefly without having the phone ring. Someday, we'll be able to sail the coast and not worry about work, for now, this is our spot!
We brought our own linens and towels, although they were supplied, and hopefully left it as spotless as we found it for the next visitors. Why? Out of respect for the care that someone is putting into this property. Thanks very much Mr. Krott and Billy!"

"Birch Point is close to ideal. It's secluded and off the beaten path, yet still proximate to all the local attractions (Popham Beach, Bath and its shops, Reid State Park, etc). The house itself is perfect for a small family, and its water views are ever-changing: watch the fog roll in or out, watch the tides transform the vista, watch bald eagles, herons, and lobster boats ply the coves. (On a more practical level, all the necessary amenities are here, including a washer/dryer.) The deck is perfect for peaceful dinners overlooking the water. The neighbors are not just friendly but welcoming to visitors, while also being respectful of your privacy. The true Maine spirit here."

"What a beautiful location! The house is perfectly located in a quiet and scenic part of the island. Very low key and friendly people, too. We were lucky to gather here with our 2 sons for a quick family re charge, from our busy professional schedules. We had a nice dinner at the Inn, and also, enjoyed going into Portland for eateries, Sonny's, Empire, and Becky's diner... and The Portland Museum of Art. I would suggest to pay close attention to the ferry schedules, if coming by car, as you have to line up, in the car lane, well in advance of your scheduled passage, because of limited capacity for the cars. Not too bad of a situation, off season. I would caution you on the loft sleeping area, as the access is quite steep, up and down. I would suggest you to bring sheets and towels, for easy departure at the end of your stay.
The bikes did need some attention, so, bring bikes, because, it is an ideal place for riding."
