"We had a very nice time at the Orr's Cottage. Beautiful area, and a 45 minute drive to Portland where we had amazing meals every night. We had lunch every day down the road at Morse's Cribstone Grille where we had the best lobster rolls we've ever had - and killer cocktails as well.
The cottage was clean, roomy and very well stocked up with kitchen items, towels, pillows, linens, lawn chairs, games, puzzles, etc. Beautiful kitchen! Had we been there longer and weren't so set on so many Portland restaurants I would have cooked a few meals there. The hard water was not a big deal at all. I grew up with well water and just because it has a mineral smell to it (smells like pennies a little) doesn't mean it's dirty. In fact, my skin and hair felt better from the water there than after showering at home in Boston city water.
The house was a little musty smelling when we arrived but as soon as we opened windows and turned on fans it was fine. It's a humid area so maybe the house would benefit from a dehumidifier in between guests when the windows are closed.
There is no longer satellite TV, just an Amazon Firestick so you can access Netflix and Hulu. It was a little hard to use and would freeze during movies sometimes. The WIFI worked great though.
The Orr's and Bailey's Island area is stunning and offers ample hiking trails and walks (Cliff Walk, Devil's Back, Giant's Stairs and Bowdoin Coastal Studies center are all highly recommended). Everywhere was dog friendly and our pup could be off leash the entire time. We saw blue herons and deer in the yard, and heard owls at night. Overall a perfect vacation. We hope to return to the same cottage next year."

"A great home and excellent communication with the owners. This house worked out perfectly for our family. It is very comfortable and cozy. Perfect location for our kids who love to go to the pier to fish. We enjoyed using the lobster pot a few times during the week getting our lobsters locally on the Island. We used the fire pit for smores each night. My son used one of the great bikes that were available. It was very nice to just have to bring our clothing, personal items, and food for the week. Once again you are dealing with lovely, down to earth owners of this property. Thank you Christine for allowing us to use your home!"

"The house was much nicer than expected...not a cottage but a beautiful, year- round home with 3 BR, 2 1/2 BA, beautifully appointed with gorgeous artwork and furniture. Gardens galore with impeccable landscaping right down the water to the most serene setting with hammocks, chairs, fire pit...perfect spot. If you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing vacation in paradise, this is for you. Bring your camera! Lilliana is an AWESOME lady, who was so friendly and accommodating. Couldn't ask for more! Will recommend this to friends, for sure...also, close drive to the LL Bean and other great stores for a little retail therapy! 😊"
