  • Great Stay, Dog Friendly

"I'm just finishing up a lovely stay at Litch's Place. I've stayed in a lot of house rentals over the years, and this is definitely one of the nicest. The house is either new, or newly remodeled, it is in fantastic shape. The decor is very tasteful, it has everything you might need and is very pet friendly. I usually travel with my dog, and I've noticed that a lot of places say they're pet friendly, but they're really more pet tolerant. First thing I saw when we came in was a clean water dish on the floor, just waiting to be filled, so I knew this was a welcoming place. The house is kind of ridiculously clean (wish mine were as nice), the beds are comfy, there is a large yard for the dog to explore and it's very quiet. I had a minor problem during my stay (smoke alarm issue) and Marcia had it fixed immediately. She provides a very useful binder full of local information. Portland it an easy 20 minute drive away. Really, you can't do better in this area."

  • Beth and Mike from Pittsburgh

"The cottage was charming and the pictures don't do it justice. It has been beautifully remodeled, and decorated. The location is fabulous! Just a short walk to Higgins Beach. I've made many trips to the Portland area over the last 40 years and this may be my new favorite place. So much to see and do nearby....we went to an adorable lobster shack on Blackpoint road and ordered steamed lobsters to go! We would definately return to the cottage!"

  • Can't wait for next year!

"Visiting Scott and Laura's lower goose island home is a wonderful family retreat providing the best of both worlds- an island escape with proximity to Freeport. In addition to relaxing in comfort at the house, we enjoy walking the trails, kayaking, fishing and scouring the rocky beaches for treasures at low tide. Daily swims off the dock continue a longstanding Maine family tradition and our girls love trips (in the rented whaler) to Paul's marina in Brunswick to get ice cream and penny candy. In past years we've also taken the short boat trip to Peary's Eagle Island state park and 'take out' at harraseeket lunch 'n lobster. The animated seals at Grassy 'seal' Ledge are a riot and the birds are a treat to watch. Osprey, eagles, eider ducks, terns, cormorants, gulls, great blue heron, egrets and even a couple of loons welcomed us this year. Speaking of welcome, Laura and Scott are wonderful hosts, happy to share this slice of Casco Bay life. We look forward to first day 'sundown' dockside conversations and lobstering with them at week's end. The house is beautifully crafted and thoughtfully appointed with three bedrooms that work well for our four adult-one teen- two children family. The kitchen is outfitted with a gas refrigerator and stove and a full range of cookware and utensils. With cozy accommodations, a generator available for charging electronics and decent cellular service, this isn't exactly roughing it! The 'composting toilet' and outdoor shower give you the option to tell your friends you were. :) We love it here and look forward to our visit each year. Highly recommended."

  • Comfortable house very near the charming lake

"We spent a pleasant stay in that house wish is spacious with a large sunny living room and comfortable bedrooms. We was a bit disappointed of the view due to big trees on lakeside then we could see very few of the landscape. Nevertheless the large terrace was very relaxing and we could use the wonderful barbecue. We didn't use the hot tubs (too durty) but we made a lot of very interesting visits all around the Sebago Region ( Portland, Bath, around the Sebago lake, and LL Bean in Freeport of course!...). It is a good location for visiting the Maine, so nice!"
