About the property

2 bedroom, 2 bath golf cottage on 15 fairway plus free kayaking

Golf Cottage #5 is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath (plus blow-up bed) located right on hole #15 fairway

Our golf cottage unit #5 is one of our 4 properties at the Lake of the Ozarks and sits right on #15 fairway and next to the Old Kinderhook tennis courts and swimming pool. It's brand new on VRBO as of 2017 and very similar to our other properties and in the same area of the Lake.

2 of our properties are located at the Old Kinderhook Resort and the other 2 are located at the Sugarloaf Vineyard about 1.5 miles away.

Here is a summary of our 4 properties:

Old Kinderhook Golf Resort Cottage #5 (this is the one you're currently looking at): 2 bedroom, 2 bath

Old Kinderhook Golf Resort Cottage #4 (VRBO listing ID 652761):

Sugarloaf Vineyard Chardonel House (VRBO listing 456930):

Sugarloaf Vineyard Norton House (VRBO listing 456932):

All 4 properties have full use of the Sugarloaf lakefront picnic grounds and free kayaking.

Please check out all 4 properties especially if you have larger groups or reunions!

Our new to VRBO Old Kinderhook golf cottage (unit #5) is a 2 bdr, 2 bath that sleeps 4 (plus a blow-up bed in the living room),

Stay at the Old Kinderhook golf cottage and enjoy some of the finest golf in Missouri (Ranked #2 in the State), play tennis, relax by the pool, go fishing off the pier, boating, swimming, hiking and other amenities at the Resort. Or try your 'feet' at OK's new outdoor ice skating rink which then doubles as sand volleyball courts in the summer!

If you have a large group please consider combining your stay with our sister properties across the road at the Sugarloaf Vineyard. As part of the Sugarloaf Rental community you enjoy free kayaking (you can choose from singles or double kayaks) and use of the Sugarloaf Park Lakefront property. This property has a breathtaking view of the Big Niangua arm, very calm water and fabulous for kayaking.

The Golf Cottage at Old Kinderhook boasts a large master bedroom with a king bed and a second bedroom with a queen bed. Both bathrooms have that nice cedar scent from the natural cedar ceilings. The living room has a 55 inch flat screen and the bedrooms have flat screens as well; satellite TV and free wi-fi. There is also a blow-up bed that can be used in the living room and the living room couch is also very comfortable with 2 recliners.

Fish from the Old Kinderhook marina, catch some crappie and grill them on your cottage charcoal grill! Or, skip the grilling and enjoy fine dining at the Old Kinderhook Trophy Room restaurant or casual dining at the Sugarloaf Vineyard nearby.

Do some bird-watching or score a few birdies of your own on the magnificent, Tom Weiskopf designed golf course.

You'll have easy access to the Lake via the Old Kinderhook Marina for boating or choose the quiet lakefront at the Sugarloaf Vineyard property for kayaking and fishing.

There is a state park nearby called Ha Ha Tonka with an underground spring that expels 2,000,000 gallons of water per hour into the Lake and you could spend an entire day at the Park exploring, swimming or fishing. There are 7 wonderful hiking trails plus the ruins of a 1930's "castle".

No matter what your perception of a perfect vacation is, you won't be disappointed with the relaxation and serene feeling you will have when you leave this refreshing property!

About Barb Morris

Owners are Ward & Barb Morris who moved to the Lake in 1985 and raised our 3 children in one of the most beautiful locales in the U.S.! Barb owned and operated several Lake area restaurants over the past 27 years and enjoys the fine art of cooking and especially, pairing food with wine! Ward takes weekend breaks from his Computer Consulting career to tend to over 1500 grapevines on the property and looks forward each fall to harvest time

Barb Morris purchased this cottage in 2017

Why Barb Morris chose Camdenton

This property is across the highway from Ward & Barb's home and was purchased to expand the VRBO offerings to include a golf course community home but can also enjoy the serene location and amenities of our other 2 properties located at the Sugarloaf Vineyard.

What makes this cottage unique

We fell in love with the quiet side of the Lake and especially the Niangua Arm tributary with it's amazing wildlife. During the month February you can often spot as many as 700 great white Pelicans feeding on Lake fish for as long as 2 weeks as they migrate. This actually inspired the name of one of Sugarloaf Vineyards wines; the White Pelican, a dry white Chardonel. Other birdlife includes the great bald eagle, blue herons, egrets, seagulls, hawks, owls and host of other. And of course, several deer like to walk through the golf course at dusk and dawn. It's a great getaway couples setting, or for a small family or, combined with the other 3 Sugarloaf Rental properties, great for reunions or to get away from the city.

Perfect location and immaculately clean!

  • 5 of 5

This charming little cottage was perfect for a weekend getaway! Very peaceful, quiet and relaxing which is exactly what we needed. The restaurant, facilities and activities at the lodge were great and so was the hiking at HaHa Tonka state park just down the road. Would definitely visit again, next time in the summer so we can experience Barb’s winery as well.

We had a wonderful time!

  • 5 of 5

We came down for 2 nights to attend a family wedding. The cottage is beautiful inside and perfect size for us and our two young boys. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms were very nice. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We will be coming back for a few days in the summer and this will be where we will try to stay! Thank you for sharing your cottage with us!

As advertised!!!! Clean, great location, and accommodating

  • 5 of 5

Finding a property that will accommodate our entire family (4 legged friend included) that is clean, updated, and in a great location is hard to find. This home had it all! Our daughters started each AM with a walk around the golf course with our dog, followed by breakfast at the trophy room (short walk), and then an afternoon of ice skating with hot chocolate around the fire. Can’t wait to come back when it’s warmer to enjoy the pool (right next door), the golf course, and the tennis courts. I have not see another pet friendly VRBO at the Lake as nice as this.

Awesome property with beautiful view

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at the Morris propertys many times over the years and they are always extremely clean and comfortable. They are a delight to deal with! This resort is awesome - esp in the winter when the kids can ice skate. Highly recommend!

Very nice relaxing atmosphere.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was very nice and accommodating for two couples. When going the end of OCT, you are always dealing with Mother Nature and this time Mother Nature won out with the cold temperatures. Planned on trying out the kayaks but temps were about 30 degrees too cold so did a distillery tour and hiked in Ha Ha Tonka State Park. Enjoyed one evening with wine and pizza at the winery which is always a treat. Will certainly be back again to do some golfing, kayaking, more hiking, and just plan relaxing.

Beautiful place!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cottage right on the course! So much fun & relaxing to sit on the deck, sip our drinks and watch the golfers go by. The deck is huge and no matter what time of day there are sections to sit in the shade or the sun. It’s conveniently located near the pool and tennis courts. We like to BBQ and there is a nice gas grill on the deck. The inside of the cottage is well appointed and has a granite kitchen counter and granite bathroom vanities plus very nice cedar ceilings in the bathrooms. The beds are very comfortable and the living room couch has two reclining sides that recline almost horizontally; great to relax and watch the 55” TV! I know it’s pet friendly but you would never know it as it’s so very clean and fresh. I could have stayed on the Kinderhook property all day as there is so much to do but the little gem was just across the highway at the Sugarloaf Vineyard where we enjoyed the winery and the use of our two free kayaks by the Lakeshore picnic area (and a great firepit there as well!). What a wonderful getaway and we will definitely be back! Thank you Ward & Barb!

Kayaking at Sugarloaf Vineyard is a great way to get out on the water and relax and see the wildlife.
