Villa 400m2 with swimming pool and 35000 m2 garden
The neoclassical residence resting within 35000m2 of meticulously designed Mediterranean gardens in Agia Marina was initially built in 1893. Declared a cultural monument by the Greek Ministry, it has been fully renovated to serve the highest of nowadays standards while at the same time preserving the essence of another era. Same nostalgic theme permeates the interior which consists of a study, two bedrooms, one bathroom and a master bedroom with en suite bathroom on the first floor, as well as two additional bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor. Also on the ground floor is the living room adorned with a central fireplace and two dining spaces, one of which overlooking the 120m2 swimming pool, all supported by a fully equipped kitchen.
The garden has been designed in such a way as to provide a beautiful relaxing atmosphere for a carefree vacation.
The blue color of the sky reflecting on the swimming pool comes in contrast with the evergreen of the large open lawn areas surrounding the villa. This serene painting also includes a small chapel dedicated to St. Fanourios, surrounded by century old olive trees, willow trees and blooming roses. In fact there are several sitting spots around the house fully equipped with outdoor furniture, including a gazebo where one can let go of worries and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings.
While exploring the gardens, populated by indigenous plants and flowers setting up a colourful pallet, guests are also welcome to taste over twenty different fruits and vegetables such as strawberries, peaches and apricots depending on the season, all produced within the estate. Close to the house, mostly masked from common sight by jasmine and wisteria bushes, is the basketball/tennis court, in case someone prefers to mix relaxation with some sports activity. Finally, for those renting a car, two parking spots are available in the underground garage.

Why MAIRY SKYLAKAKI chose Ilida
I loved this place since I was a child because of the beautiful scenery the sea and the beach offers, the calming and peaceful environment and the variety of fruits in the garden. I also like the atmosphere of the traditional house and the ability to visit so many interesting places all around without wasting time.
What makes this Villa unique
The place has an unbelievably beautiful architecture, a refreshing big swimming pool, tennis and basket courts and the small church that someone can enjoy a deep meditation. The house offers a stunning view of the surrounding area from the terrace and various spots in the garden. There is also a small patch of forest trees where someone can enjoy the cool breeze during the hot days in the summer.

This property is everything and MUCH MORE than the pictures show. To start with the garden is full of fruit trees and you can walk around in the morning and pick up fruit for your breakfast - oranges, figs, plums, peaches, apples, pears, grapes.... The house is big and could easily accomodate our family of 8. The pool is the cleanest and one of the nicest pools I have seen! The on property caretakers look after the property and the house and Katia was like an angel looking after our every need (I wanted to bring her home with me). The tennis/basketball court was in good use even though it was so hot. The owner Mairy is very welcoming and if we had any concern she took care of it immediately. She checked on us daily to make sure everything was as we wanted. This property is like staying in a luxury hotel of your own!! I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a relaxing holiday or get together with friends of family - perfect paradise !!! Thank you Mairy, Katia and Vasili!!! Hope to be back one day !!
Absolutely our of this world
We had a marvelous stay in this amazing house. Mairy was a very thoughtful and gracious host. The house was well equipped and our family had a wonderful vacation.
The pool is amazing and picking fruits from the large orchard was great. The beach is ten minutes away and Olympia is very close. We had a large group and were all comfortable. Our children spent their time in the pool and the large garden and had the time of their life. The AC In August was a welcome addition. But what really made a difference was the house manager Katia and her husband Vasili who worked really hard on a daily base to keep the house impeccable. We felt so welcomed and lucky to be there.

Awesome luxury villa with style
The most luxurious holiday home we have ever rented. Built in 1893, the villa is spacious, impeccably renovated, air-conditioned, and furnished with style; the adjacent pool house is cozy, the giant pool just wonderful even with natural shade for the sunbeds around noon. Several terraces for different views and hours (sea view above the trees; incredible sunsets!). The underground garage keeps your car quite cool even during the heat of the day. Pick your own fresh fruit from the orchard for breakfast, enjoy the vast carefully manicured green garden, play tennis or Basketball at night (floodlight) or simply relax. The caretakers living on the premises in a separate building do an excellent job with the garden, pool and house and are very helpful with everything (thank you Katja!). It makes you feel like a landlord on your stately estate - "Otium" like an aristocrat at your villa in the countryside in ancient Roman times.
Situated in a rural quiet area with mostly local Greek summer tourists, it´s only a short drive or walk (less than 1km) to a choice of marvellous not overcrowded fine sandy beaches (our favourite: Belvedere) and many cozy Greek tavernas, but you might also prepare dinner in the villa yourself.
For the cultural minded, nearby ancient Olympia and the medieval crusader´s castle Chlemoutsi will be a must-see; the Kyllini peninsula is a very scenic hilly area; even a day trip to the islands of Zakynthos or Kefallonia is an option.
The owner Mairy, a decent elegant lady from Athens, is professional and fair (rental Agreement), polite, friendly and accomodating, welcomed us in person upon arrival, explained everything and kept in touch as needed for making our stay so enjoyable. Just awesome - unforgettable, thank you so much!
