In the department of Gers in the heart of the Madirannais vineyards, VIELLA is a small village that offers many services (doctor, supermarket, tobacco-press, pharmacy, bakery, municipal swimming pool). 25 mn from MARCIAC (Jazz festival), 45 mn from VIC FEZENSAC (Salsa Festival), 45 mn from PAU and TARBES and 1h30 from COTE LANDAISE.
The destination of the country of d'ARTAGNAN and its musketeers is known for its rich heritage and its gastronomy with among others its foie gras, duck or goose confit, Gascon pastis, floc, Armagnac and its wines.
To these culinary riches is added an important built and cultural heritage, made of bastides, castelnaux, monuments and museums.
In summer, the GERS is also festive with its many events. MARCIAC Jazz attracts an audience that goes well beyond the department's borders. Fans of classical music will feast with Armagnac Musical Nights in several cathedrals of the department.

High summer in the french Vineyards

At arrival we were offered a standing reception in the kitchen with cold tapwater from the refrigerator with home-made ice cubes. As we kindly declined, we immediately got a house tour with extensive explanation of all cleaning duties and which cleaning agent to use for what purpose. The cooker was wrapped in alu-foil, so was the oven and the outdoor cooker, so they could not get dirty. The owner visited regularly to check if the pool was well maintained, which we did of course. Two previously mended lawn chairs gave in again unfortunately, which I reported to the owner when she visited once again, but the owner knew the seats are old and actually should have been replaced already. So no problems! On the Saturday of our departure at 8:00 AM we left the house cleaned and did not want to wake the owners, who live in the house next door, as they had worked all week and deserved a longer rest on Saturday. Marie-Pierre, thanks for a beautiful and learn full holiday!

très belle semaine au calme

Nous avons passé une superbe semaine au calme dans une jolie maison pleine de charme. Nous avons passé d'agréable moment au bord de la piscine. les proprietaires sont très sympatique et la communication fût parfaite. nous recommendons vivement cette location. Un grand merci !!!
