Relax on the balcony and enjoy one of the most beautiful view's on earth. It is such a beautiful spot that many weddings take place right across the street at Berwick Park. Enjoy taking a walk along the path along side the ocean. Monterey Aquarium and the Outlets are a five to ten-minute walk. (Holidays are 3 night minimum) I have a "Beach Gear" section in the gurst room closest. I have beach towels, boogie board, bucket & shovel, beach umbrella, beach bags, beach blankets. Enjoy the beach!
The Beach House is decorated by an Interior Designer and has a feeling of relaxation and comfort. It has a Nautical and Beach theme. It has wonderful thick Egyptian towels and high count sheets and linens. The electric towel warmer is great especially in the Winter months. The fireplace facing the oceanview is a perfect place to enjoy a book. It is a true place of relaxation.
It has a full kitchen with all of the latest equipment. If you cook, you can enjoy the best views in Monterey or if you go out, there are wonderful restaurants walking distance to Cannery Row.

Loved the house- the linens need to be updated- we had beach towels for
the shower, the wash rags were stained and the bedsheets keep coming off the bed, I had to keep remaking the bed through the night. Other than the linens it was great house.
I tell my cleaner to put out the blue & white stripped towels because I like the nautical look. Yes, they are a smaller beach towel. My husband and I are on the larger size and use beach towels at home also. In the linen closet right there in the hallway I have over a dozen or more bath towels that you could of used. I will talk to my cleaner about putting on tight sheets. I have at least 10 sheet sets also in the linen closet. I stayed in my place two weeks ago and bought all NEW Walsh rags because someone took all of my wash rags. I don’t know where you found the stained one but they are all new ones now.
Great place. Great view. Perfect!
I brought my bike and rode most mornings right from the house to 17 mile drive. When we needed to go into town it was a nice 20 min walk. Trader Joes was also close (6-10min drive). Sally was also a good contact, she helped us with some logistical issues that ensured we got what we needed.
Thank you! Come again.
Great location walk across street to ocean. Nice ocean view
Relaxing accomadations comfortable beds
Amazing location, comfy beds, but missing a few things
I would give this 3.5 stars but that’s not an option, unfortunately!
Here’s what I LOVED about the place:
The beds were very comfortable! This is important because I hate spending money on uncomfortable sleeping arrangements, but these were great.
The style is eclectic but you know, it’s kind of fun. People complain about the “stuff” but honestly it’s no big deal and the couches/dining chairs are so comfy.
The location is AMAZING. Love the balcony, love hearing the waves all day and night, LOVE being able to walk all over. I mean - it’s hard to beat the spot!!! I would stay here again just for the prime spot!
Sally was a pleasure to communicate with during our stay and answered promptly. She even accommodated us when we wanted to borrow the aquarium passes a little longer! Thanks, Sally!
Parking on property - so glad!
The kitchen was good, but lacked a few basic things like dish soap for hand washing dishes or oven mits for the oven. Also, only provided a couple of coffee filters (and no Keurig which I know is not necessary but these days is almost all you see. No biggie though, just a heads up). The kitchen is sort of tough to navigate with the drawers not really organized well, but it almost had everything we needed.
Here’s what was odd and could’ve been better:
No bath towels - the only towels we found were older beach towels. It was weird because we had four people staying there but each bathroom only had one thin beach towel and we had to hunt for other towels for showers.
No bath mats or wash cloths which was a bummer.
No curtains over windows. It would’ve been nice in the bedrooms to keep the porch lights out at night.
Each bathroom only started with half a roll of toilet paper so be prepared to have to pick some up right away or bring some.
Table was sticky upon arrival and didn’t feel thoroughly cleaned.
Overall we would stay again and would come prepared with what was missing (as far as supplies go). Thanks Sally!
I’m sorry some things were missing. I have a recorded inventory of 12 wash rags and 12 bath towels. Oven mitts were in the left drawer of the stove. The linen closet had four bath Mats. I don’t have “curtains” I have Hunter Douglas pleated shades (which I use to sale) and are excellent window treatments. I had sent my cleaner $50. For supplies the week before but I guess he didn’t make it to Costco. I will talk to him about that. I’m disappointed with the three star rating.
My husband and I have rented houses for about 20 years on Carmel Pt and Meadows some for twice the price of this. This is our first time in PG and wish we'd found Sally's house sooner. I need to tell you just for context that I have terminal cancer so this was my last trip out to Carmel. Thank goodness we found Sally's house, it couldn't heal my body, but it healed my heart and soul
Ok, first off let me correct some inaccurate critiques from earlier guests:
1) the couch is not "covered in dust" This is a lovely denim couch that has sun faded (actually looks pretty cool, think your fav jeans) and the "dust" is just tan fabric fade.
2) the shower curtain rod is NOT rusty. It's a design in the metal. Geesh If you're going to criticize it's nice to be accurate.
Ok, location. The location is a 10!! I was able to be comfortably ensconced on the denim couch surrounded by windows looking across the street and a narrow park to the bay where I could happily watch otters swim by, often with seagulls trying to steal the otters' lunch. My husband also spotted whales toward the horizon. This is the best view we've ever had. Yes, there is a street out front and there is traffic, but it's really not bad, at least it didn't bother me and noise can bug me. On weekends it's busy and I expect busier in the summer, but it wasn't bad for us at all.
I got my husband to go on rambles (hard to do when he's worried about me, but I insisted) and he gloried in short walks to the Aquarium (maybe a mile?) along the great shore side path. In the other direction is the beach at Lover's Point as well as restaurants in both directions.
There are stairs to access the condo, but after that it's all one level. Two porches that are so nice.
Ok, true confession: our decorating style is kind of minimalist Zen. Sally's style is different. So we just pretended that Sally was our fav sister and was giving us her house for a week. Because this looked like someone's home vs the typical more "corporate" rental home it ended up wrapping itself around us like a comfy blanket and we had the best rental experience in 20 years.
Good things to know: Unlike almost every other rental Sally has lovely throws on each couch. The furniture is very comfortable, the bed is wonderful. Bottom line, it's a very homey place in a location that is just wonderful. Plus PG is a fun town to explore. Lots of great shops and Passionfish nearby, a great restaurant.
Thank you for the nice review. It was a pleasure having you. I hope you can return one day. I’m do glad you enjoyed your stay.
We had a great time staying here. You can not beat the location and view! Loved getting up in the morning and walking along the trail and up to Lovers Point in the morning. It's also a short walk the other direction to the aquarium and Cannery Row. Out last day there we actually never used our car as we could walk everywhere we wanted to go.
