About the property

Book your late summer beach vacation and early fall fishing trip today!

This beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath pool home overlooks the canal leading to Alligator Harbor and the Gulf -- a perfect spot for fishing, canoeing, or kayaking. The home is located on a quiet dead end street with plenty of room for the kids to play in the yard.

With boating access from your backyard, beach access just steps away, and a gorgeous private pool just outside the door, it's no surprise that many guests return year after year.

The beautiful 16 x 26 foot salt water swimming pool surrounded by a large open deck is the perfect place to spend the day swimming and sunning. The water is usually still warm enough to swim through mid-October. Outside is a hot/cold shower to wash off the sand and surf when coming in from the beach.

Free standing ice machine provides roughly 10 lbs of ice daily. No more trips to the store for enough ice to take to the beach - fill your beer cooler and you'll still have enough ice for cocktail hour.

Two huge screened in porches with ceiling fans, and ocean and bay breezes make sitting outside in the summer delightful. Four huge sliding glass doors on each corner of the house give the home a wonderful cross breeze in the spring, fall, and winter when it cools off. Fantastic views in all directions.

Free wireless internet, cable, and Netflix avail on all 4 TVs including big screens in the living room and master bedroom. Ethernet cable available for high speed gaming access and movie downloads on your Apple TV or game system.

Public beach access is a block and a half from home, and we provide a fishing cart, coolers, and kids wagons you can take to the beach, as well as two adult beach cruisers. With only 4 public beach access points along Alligator Drive, location is everything!

Start each day with breakfast on the front porch and a walk on the beach hunting for shells. Then hit the hiking trails in Bald Point, grab a camera for birding in St. Marks, go shopping in Apalachicola, or visit the Gulf Specimen Marine Lab & Aquarium in Panacea. After a swim and sand castle building at the beach, wrap up the day with a dip in the pool and cocktails on the back porch at sunset. Pick up some local seafood at Mineral Springs in Panacea, starting with their fish dips for an appetizer, then steam aquaculture clams and shuck some oysters right from Alligator Harbor, and toss your catch of the day on the charcoal grill.

Breathe in the aroma of blooming flowers and pine scented salt air, and let Alligator Point work it's magic on your soul.

Let ''Bottoms Up'' be your next family vacation paradise.

About Linda Burns

Linda grew up on Lake Michigan, and graduated from Michigan - Go Blue - and 25 years ago worked as a commercial fisherman in Hawaii. Currently, she produces commercials, TV series, and independent features in Atlanta. She's a member of the Producers Guild of America and Film Fatales, and sits on the executive boards of Georgia Production Partnership and Atlanta Film Society, running their prestigious PA Academy training bootcamp for entry level filmmakers. After spending 5 months in Alligator Point a few years ago shooting a documentary on commercial fishing, she realized life is too short so she's doing more of what she, casting a net, and telling southern stories. J.D Taylor works as a Director and 1st Assistant Director, and is a member of the Directors Guild of America. He just completed 6 seasons of MTV's hit series Teen Wolf, the first season of Valor, and worked on Stranger Things. He grew up just around the corner in Shell Point and in Tallahassee, graduating in the first film school class at Florida State University. As a story teller himself, he's drawn to the amazing characters, culture and history of the area, as well as the natural beauty of the pines running right up to the gulf. He worked at Barnacle Bill's in Tallahassee for years and has the oyster shucking scars to prove it! Both are thrilled to own a home in Alligator Point and share it's beauty with others.

Why Linda Burns chose Alligator Point

Linda and JD have been vacationing / fishing in Alligator Harbor and the surrounding area for over 20 years and renting a home along the same canal in Alligator Point for almost a decade. As avid fishermen with their own small boat, the idea of their own home with a dock on the canal was too good to pass up. And with a pool and those gorgeous porches, they jumped at the chance to own their own little piece of paradise when Ms Faye put this on the market. JD loves to fish, but Linda really loves to fish, harvesting enough seafood every summer for the entire year. If she's not too busy casting net for shrimp, catching mackerel for sashimi, smoking trout, fighting red fish, scalloping and harvesting crabs, she might just finish her documentary. And one day might start Linda's Fish Camp! This little part of paradise is the best stress relief they know...just driving over the bridge from Panacea to Alligator Point you'll feel the change happen. Alligator Point is magical, from the sandy beaches to the pine trees, and they love sharing the magic.

What makes this house unique

Alligator Point is an incredibly quiet and visually stunning place along the "Forgotten Coast" of old north Florida. If you're looking for all night parties and pandemonium, keep driving west to Panama City. If you want to get away from the crowds and shake off the stress of life, you've come to the right spot. Great for fishing, kayaking, scalloping, hiking, birding, and more...or just doing nothing. And after a long hot day of fishing, hiking, or paddling, that pool, which is one of a kind, is the best thing going on the point. Grab some dinner or drinks at the tiki bar, then kick back and enjoy the stars from the pool deck or porches. With minimal to no light pollution, you'll see the milky way and billions of stars on a clear night. Nothing like a late night walk on the beach to recharge your batteries and fill your soul.

Covered dock for your small boat. We fit our 17.5' Key Largo V hull perfectly. Very low and winter tides can leave it sitting dry in the mud, but it's flat, so we've never had an issue. Just mind the very low tides. Or if you prefer, a boat ramp is 3/4s of a mile toward the marina, although we prefer the ramp at the marina which is about 2 miles away.

What a wonderful home and great owners! We had to evacuate for a tropical storm and Linda was fantastic about getting us information before, during and after. The home is adorable and the pool was awesome to have when the waters were still too rough from the storms! We will be back!

Great location!! Reasonably priced!!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our "Bottoms Up" vacation house! It is very close to the beach, about two blocks and you're there. Alligator Point beach is beautiful and not overly crowded like so many Florida beaches can be. The pool was great too and Linda has lots of nice cushiony lounge chairs around the pool. We also enjoyed going out to their dock and setting the crab traps out which are provided by Linda. Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes and all the comforts of home. Also loved having the ice machine for extra ice whenever you needed it. Linda is very personable and friendly and will answer any questions you have. Great stay, hope to return soon!!!

Nice, quiet place to vacation

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed having our own pool, and the beach was convenient, too. The house is so cute, with everything you might need. The ice machine was nice to have as well. I loved reading on the screened in porch. Linda is so helpful with any questions one might have. We would enjoy visiting again someday!
