Cottage with private pool

The “Casa de Castel Rei” (carefully restored farm house) is located in the north of Portugal, on the edge of a green valley overlooking the Citânia de Briteiros (set of ruins of an important settlement inhabited for over 2000 years). Located at the far end of the village, it brings together unique conditions for family holidays with all the tranquility. In the village has small supermarkets, confectionery, restaurant and pharmacy. The property is at a distance of 5 km from Caldas das Taipas; from Guimarães and Braga 15 Km; Peneda-Geres National Park is 40 km away and Porto and its airport are 55 km away.
House with two floors- At the common room level, kitchen, wc of support to the ground floor level. On the first floor is the bedroom area, 1 suite and two bedrooms with full bathroom support. Rooms overlook a full-length balcony with mountain and village views. In the surrounding garden of the house has several tables of support and meal as well as a barbecue. The garden is approximately 4,500 m2 on several levels and with various environments. On a higher level you will find a private swimming pool in a wooded environment, allowing all the tranquility.

Delightful, characterful property in amazing grounds and setting. Stayed with are 2 children and their partners and made great use of the facilities - everything you could wish for in the kitchen, fabulous lounge area (always nice and cool), so many areas for al fresco dining … the list goes on!

Heavenly

The house exceeded all expectations, especially the outside space, pool and gardens. The views are superb and we enjoyed the variety of places we could sit to view the surrounding countryside and sky. Very well equipped kitchen and BBQ which was above average for a holiday let. Our host was extremely helpful and her recommendations for local food and activities was fantastic. Did not want to leave after a week.

Beautifull house and garden

Perfect house for a relaxing family holiday. The location is perfect to visit Porto and other city’s in the region. We need much more than the two weeks we already spend to see everything. When you want to relax just take a swim, read a book at the balcony or somewhere in the garden. You can have lovely dinners outside. Lígia is a perfect hostess with great information about where to eat and what to do.

A WONDERFUL VACATION HOME/GARDEN/EVERYTHING !!!!!

We stayed in Castel Rei for three unforgettable weeks, the house is very, very cosy, the bedrooms/bathrooms upstairs are nice and clean with a beautiful view, a full equipped big kitchen with a expresso machine, washing and dishwashingmachine, it has 5 terraces and 4500 m2 of garden,with beautiful flowers everywhere, a true paradise......a lovely saltwaterswimmingpool, with a seperate shower and a washroom. Guimaraes and the surrounding little villages are very nice to visit, there are enough supermarkets in the area, and wonderful restaurants who serve the Portugese dishes also. Porto is for sure a place to visit, if you don't want want to walk too much, take a boattour, or a hop on, hop off bus, there's a lot of history everywhere. I must say that we are still homesick, we miss the silence, the serenity, and sitting outside with a glass of Port or wine. we definitely want to come back next year !!!!!!!!! also thanks to you, lovely Ligua !!!

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in der Casa Castel Rei! Ligia ist eine tolle Gastgeberin, sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, sie hat tolle Tips für Ausflüge und Restaurants! Das Haus mit seinen vielen verschiedenen Sitzecken ist sehr hübsch, die Terrasse im 1. OG hat einen herrlichen Ausblick, sie war - neben dem schönen Pool - unser Lieblingsplatz! Das Haus liegt perfekt für Ausflüge nach Braga, Guimarães, Porto, ans Meer und in den NP Peneda-Geres! Sehr zu empfehlen!

Belle propriété, difficilement accessible

Idéal pour se reposer loin de tout. Manque de commerces approximite . Tres beau jardin, maison sombre et manquant de confort, tel que éclairage dans les salles de bains, escalier raide pour accéder aux chambres. Suggestions; pour les voyageurs arrivant par avion et tard l’après-midi, un petit panier comprenant du cafe, sucre etc serai le bienvenue

Des constats ci-dessus, c'est avec tristesse que je constate que la Casa de Castel Rei n'a pas répondu à vos attentes. Je le regrette profondément car, bien qu'il s'agisse d'une situation exceptionnelle, j'aurais beaucoup aimé que cela ne se soit pas produit. Les commentaires des clients sont toujours les bienvenus pour moi, car ils servent toujours de base pour améliorer ce qui peut être moins bien, pour l'avenir. Cependant, c'est avec une certaine étrangeté que je lis des commentaires tels que; manque de confort, mauvais éclairage dans les salles de bains (qui sont toutes extérieures avec des fenêtres sur le jardin), etc., des opinions personnelles que je respecte, mais qui, à mon avis, ne reflètent pas la réalité de Casa Castel Rei, pourraient donner à leurs lecteurs une idée erronée de la réalité. Cette plate-forme contient des photographies intérieures et extérieures, une description de la maison concernant ses espaces, son emplacement, ses installations, etc. qui sont réalistes et vrais, je suis donc désolé qu'ils aient été moins agréablement surpris. C'est avec grand plaisir que je les ai reçus et ce fut un plaisir de les rencontrer.

Stunning house in beautiful surroundings

The property was exceptionally stylish inside and out; it was very characterful and well equipped. The house was perfectly situated in peaceful countryside but with easy access to Porto and other interesting towns, villages and the National Park. Ligia could not have been more helpful. I would highly recommend this place.

Super schönes Domizil

Ein schönes Haus mit einem wunderbaren auf mehrere Ebenen verteilter Garten. Um das Haus und im Garten verteilt gibt es mehrere schöne Ecke zum gemeinsamen Entspannen. Leider ist es Nachts recht laut, da in direkter Nähe viele Hunde untergebracht sind.

Foi um prazer recebê-los. Muito obrigada pelo seu comentário. Lamento o barulho causado pelos cães que não permitiu o devido descanso . Acontece que infelizmente alguém alugou um terreno perto da casa onde colocou cães abandonados. Esta situação, ilegal, está a ser resolvida com as autoridades locais, pelo que a todo o momento será solucionada. Obrigada.
