NEW Modern Wine Country Farmhouse IN THE HEART OF THE WINE TRAIL! WATEFRONT!

We were looking for a place to be together and the house was great. The kids enjoyed the pond and kayaks. Was nice to be secluded yet close enough to attractions.

It's hard to summarize what an amazing weekend we had at this house. From the minute we pulled in past the horses,came up the hill to see this beautiful home, and the private lake we were anticipating playing in.

The inside of the house did not disappoint either....the spacious kitchen with large dining table with plenty of room for all....and the view! We had plenty of room to spread out in this home. Played games in the family room area...watched movies in the TV room....

The beds were very comfortable and the showers were done well.

So many details thought of...extra hooks, plenty of soaps, extra TP, garbage bags, nice pans, dishes and glasses galore.

Also very tastefully decorated. Not overdone so it feels crowded...but just right.

We played on the water all weekend...loving the floating dock and kayacks most of all. We walked down to see the horses often. A few of us also enjoyed early morning runs in the beautiful country side.

Man...we miss this place already and can't wait to go back!!

There are so many wonderful things to say about this place, so I will try to get them all down in one review.

First, I booked this Farmhouse to house everyone that was showing up to my surprise engagement to my Fiancee. I had a million different question, and Brian was able to answer all of them! Then, because it was a surprise engagement, my fiancee and I needed to arrive early so that she could get ready without the group arriving to spoil the surprise. NO PROBLEM, Brian had things ready to go, and was a HUGE HELP! So things started off on a great note!

Next came the trip, When we first pulled up to the house, we were in awe of the beautiful private lake, with a nice sandy beach equipped with kayaks and even a paddle boat! We stepped inside to a big new kitchen that was ready and stocked to handle all our cooking needs. We had a large group and were able to cook all the meals we needed. All the furniture, beds, couches, tables all brand new and in great condition! The house has central air which was awesome because it was 100 degrees outside, but we stayed nice and cool.

Outside the house there is a huge deck, with patio chairs, and a tables that allowed us to sit out and look over the hills and down onto the private lake! The View in the morning is unmatched in Southern Illinois! The fire pit is no joke either. We had our whole group fit around the fire pit easily, with room to spare!

An added bonus was that 200 ft from the house is a small stable with a horse and even a couple mini horses. Very Cute, and really just added to the overall feeling for the

cabin!

As soon as we arrived, we had smiles on our faces, and I don't think we stopped smiling and laughing the whole trip. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived, and by the end of the trip we couldn't help but to talk about the next time we would be able to gather at the farmhouse again! The consensus was that we would never be able to stay anywhere else in SoILL, because it just would not be able to compare. We are a picky bunch, but not one person had any negative thing to say, or even a small criticism for that matter! This place is just perfect!

I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot more I could say, but all I can say is book this place right now! You will not be disappointed!

I was looking for an open, secluded place for my brother's bachelor party to get him out of the crazy day to day routine. I couldn't have gotten luckier to find this place...it genuinely exceeded my expectations of what was available. The area was beautiful, fishing was great (we caught bass and bluegill all weekend), and my brother was able to get out to great trail heads a few minutes' drive from the farmhouse. The property owner, Brian, was beyond accommodating and helpful. He came out on Friday evening to make sure we had everything we needed, he went to extra lengths to get us extra air conditioning units (even though central air was more than enough), an extra grill for our larger party, and patio chairs for around the fire pit. Had a nice talk with him about the history of the place: built in 1865, and it had all the feel of a farmhouse, but it was completely updated with new furniture, appliances, and we had kayaks (1 and 2 person), a paddle boat, and a floating dock all at our convenience. We were out on the water all day Saturday and had a great time. I definitely would recommend this farmhouse to anyone (families, couple's getaway, bachelor and bachelorette parties) looking to do any number of things in the beautiful area: whether you plan on just hanging out on the property or heading out on the wine trail or Giant City or Shawnee trail heads. Brian, can't thank you enough for everything. Truly a memorable weekend - couldn't have had a better time!

I brought 9 students and two advisors down for a leadership retreat, this place was absolutely perfect. The space was set for the number of us as well as beautiful for pictures and many other activities we had plans for.
