Imagine a bright, luxurious, and comfortable houseboat with a huge deck. Now imagine yourself on it. Surrounded by glistening water, gently swaying in your hammock outdoors, unwinding after a day in the hustle and bustle of the city. Feels pretty amazing, huh?
Moored on Java Island, the top floor of our boat (note: the lower level is occupied) offers the perfect setting for exploring and relaxing. Watch the sunrise on your left and the sunset on your right; enjoy the glorious harbor views, the sun deck, the BBQ, the books, the good coffee, the private sauna, or simply the whole houseboat experience. You can even join the locals for a refreshing swim in the IJ River.
Our redesigned steering cabin (35 m²) on the top floor—where you’ll be staying—is your ultimate ship experience in Amsterdam. It features a bathroom, an open-concept bedroom with a queen-size bed, and a bright living room surrounded by windows. The stunning sun deck offers yet another space to enjoy the nearly 360° harbor view and is ideal for relaxation and having a BBQ. The kitchenette is equipped for preparing light meals (note: no stove). Various appliances are available, including an oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, egg cooker, Nespresso machine, and mini-fridge.
Tea and coffee can be restocked upon request. If your stay exceeds 3 days, extra towels will be provided, and hammam towels are available for use in the sauna. The independent B&B upstairs is private and the ideal retreat for 1 or 2 guests (no more). You have your own entrance, and you’ll be our only guest. Note: the downstairs area is currently occupied.
Whether you need a helping hand, like to have a chat, or prefer your own company, it’s all fine with us. The B&B upstairs has been open for a few years now, and we’ve welcomed guests from all over the world—avid travelers, boat enthusiasts, architects and designers, coaching experts, and entrepreneurs. We just love having you around!
Read the reviews—or even better, come see for yourself. We can’t wait to welcome you onboard and make your stay a truly memorable one.
As is typical on ships in general, it’s worth noting that not all areas of the Somoya have standard ceiling heights*, which is why the studio may not be suitable for very tall people!

Dreamship Somoya officially complies with all the regulations for a B&B on a ship in Amsterdam.
