This was our first of three stops in Puglia and an excellent choice. Location was perfect to explore Bari, walking distance to everything, including the central train station where we easily rented a car when we left Bari. Apartment was as described, no issues.

Great stay in spacious apartment

My friends and I had a great stay in this spacious apartment in Bari. The location of the apartment was perfect. Bars nearby and close to the old city and the beach. The view of the sea from the balcony was amazing!

Fantastic apartment with beautiful views

Two of the three bedrooms have balconies overlooking the sea. The apartment is very clean with well appointed bathrooms and kitchen. There is also a washing machine.

Beautiful view, lovely apartment

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful apartment in Bari. Francesco and Valentina were great to interact with and were quick to respond to messages. If we had one critique, it would be to have a second double bed in the room with the ocean view versus the twin beds. Outside of that, it was clean, well appointed, convenient to many areas, and the views were stunning! Grazie mille, Francesco!

Perfect family spot for our Bari visit

Traveling with friends. This place was perfect. It was nice enough that we wanted to buy it but it’s not for sale. The fact that it belong to the grandfather makes it even more special to be in a family home location was perfect. The restaurants were right below our balcony, thank you again for a perfect stay

What an amazing apartment and location. My friends and I met up in Bari for a week long stay. The building is directly across from the ocean. I took walks every morning before embarking to all of the amazing towns nearby. Also, so convenient to walk to restaurants and shopping. We spent a few days enjoying Bari and our apartment. Very spacious apartment, well equipped kitchen, laundry and comfortable.Francesco was always responsive to emails and very helpful and kind.Also, there is an elevator for easy baggage lift.I say… stay here! Nona’s House

Great spacious apartment. AC worked very well. Location was ideal with lovely view of the sea. Downstairs is a cafe that is open most of the day and night for a quick bite, coffee or cocktail with a sea view. Great restaurants in the neighborhood as well; we recommend Le Due Aquile. Owner was gracious and flexible with our arrival and checkout time. We would most definitely stay here again. The space lived up to its name; it felt like a warm hug from Nona. Thank you again! :)

My husband & I had a fabulous time, we loved the apartment, it was so much better than what we had expected, everything you could want is so close & the list of information & recommendations that Francesca & Paola leave for you is so helpful. Wonderful classic style apartment with a seaview

We loved staying at the apartment. It was beautiful, spacious and had everything we needed. Paola did a wonderful job explaining where everything was and how all the appliances worked. The teenagers who usually like to lock themselves in bedrooms took a liking to the living room, and spent a lot of time there, which they called “The drawing room” just like in a period drama. They appreciated the grandeur of it and the view. We loved the location which apart from the sea view was walking distance to restaurants and shops and old Bari. We are partly Italian, so we recognised some of the Nonni lifestyle, especially in the kitchen. Thank you we had a wonderful stay in Bari.

Exactly what we hoped for, and more!

We were fortunate to spend a wonderful 18 nights at “A Casa dei Nonni” in September/October 2024. Aside from all the great amenities we found it just a special space to spend time in. It is spacious and bright with beautiful views of the sea. It truly felt like a home away from home for us and we would go back in a heartbeat. We miss it already. The immediate area is so vibrant with lots of activity, kids taking sailing lessons, people out walking along the sea or enjoying the bar and restaurant below. Both the building and the area felt very safe at all times. We were even treated to fireworks several nights which we could watch from the balcony window. It is a great location for exploring the Murat and a comfortable walking distance to Old Bari or to the train station. We were able to use it as a home base and took numerous day trips on the train to small towns up and down the coast. This was our first visit to the Puglia region and we fell in love with the area, the food and the people. Being able to stay in this apartment added greatly to the success of our trip. Staying there was an experience in itself. Thank you Francesco for sharing it with us.

A Seafront Haven

This property is beautiful in all ways. It has beautiful ocean & marina views from 2 balconies, one off the largest bedroom & one off the sitting room. The latter has a small table & 2 chairs. From the interior of these rooms & the other bedroom that faces the ocean there are the same lovely views. The kitchen & third bedroom look out from the other side of the building & include balconies which are utilitarian (hang your laundry off the kitchen balcony) rather than view-oriented but are nontheless pleasant for light & airiness. Interiorly the firnishings are very attractive, comfortable, spacious and elegant in a historic fashion. This is a very livable & enjoyable home away from home. It is extremely well-located, not only for being on the waterfront, but a relatively short walk from the Old City and close to restaurants & bakeries. A great coffee shop was right below our balconies. The most wonderful aspect of our visit were Valentina, who manages the property & is a treasure of hospitality, & Francesco, the owner. Both of them greeted us late at night when a landslide complicated our arrival to Bari. We were tired & disoriented, yet there they were with welcoming smiles & explanations of everything in the house. Paola, the owner's daughter, in the meantime kept in contact with us as the train schedule kept changing. They all were wonderfully accommodating. The information book they prepared has lots of valuable information, including groceries stores.

die Wohnung liegt optimal am Rand der Altstadt, ist sehr großzügig, mit wunderbaren Blick. In Bari kann man ausgezeichneten frischen Fisch und Meeresftüchte kaufen oder im Restaurant essen.Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, mit 5 Flammen am Gasherd. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

A Peaceful Apartment

It was not a good start for us. We had arrived outside the apartment building but there was no one there to greet us and nobody answered the telephone number given on the VRBO site. I emailed the host that we’d arrived. We had an anxious 20 minutes before he arrived. Putting all that aside, we spent an enjoyable 12 days and nights in Bari. The apartment is historic and huge, light and bright, and filled with books and interesting paintings. The furniture is not that comfortable, and the big bed is rock hard which some people may like. The apartment has wonderful views of the Adriatic, and there’s a lift. It’s located in a buzzing place full of restaurants and bars, but is so quiet. Bari Centrale for the trains is a 20 minutes walk. We did day visits to Polignano A Mare, Lecce, Ostuni, and Matera. The local beach Pane e Pomodori is a short walk along the lungomare and free to use. Bari new town with the gridiron layout has some wonderful old buildings which speak of a rich past. Bari old town is amazing and so are the cakes! Our favourite eating place was Taverna Verde, and for a nightcap down to La Biglietteria. We would stay again.

I’m sorry to hear you say that, Paul. We spoke frequently through the Vrbo app and despite the train delay and late check in, I asked you to let us know when your about to arrive because we needed ten minutes to reach the apartment. I just got a text that you were outside the door. At that point we rushed as fast as possible, literally living around the corner has not been so long. As for the calls, I am very sorry but we have not received any, I will verify through the app that everything is ok. Best, Paola

"Come stare a casa"

"A casa dei nonni" rispecchia perfettamente l'annuncio e anzi lo supera. L'appartamento, al secondo piano con ascensore, è molto spazioso, ordinato e pulito. È fornito di qualunque comodità, compreso aria condizionata, lavatrice e lavastoviglie. Il proprietario ci ha fatto trovare tutto predisposto per permettere un soggiorno perfetto, come la vista che si gode dalla camera da letto. Sicuramente se dovessimo ritornare a Bari ci torneremo.
