Check in was amazingly simple. Great location and easy access to get to the Centraal station and the city walking (5 minutes). Loved everything about the place.

Compact but central

Compact but ok for three of us - steep stairs if you have issues there. Galley (the correct term as it is a boat!) is moderately equipped- good fridge/freezer. We just enjoyed flaking out at the end of a day of lots of walking. No TV if that is your thing. A great place to stay for first visit to this city. Host very good with communication.

Amazing experience in an exceptional location!

We truly enjoyed staying here! Casper was communicative and made the check-in process easy. We had everything we could need at the boat and could walk to anything easily.

Great Location

Studio unit on the house boat was clean and well presented. It was cosy with 3 adults in it, more suitable for a couple. Location made up for it, easy walk to central station and main attractions. We enjoyed our stay here.

Great location and cool experience!

My friend and I stayed on Casper's house boat. It was clean upon check-in and Casper is around if you ever need anything. Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a cool experience and great accommodations.

Good Spot

Easy and convenient location to red lights, museums and shopping. Stayed in this solo but could accommodate up to 4, though would be best for 2. Casper was accomodating and helpful. Would stay here again.

Exploring Amsterdam

The location is this is great if you are planning on using public transportation. It is a very easy walk to Central Station for the train to the airport, trams to museums, or just a walk to Chinatown and many local places to eat. Casper had coffee and tea ready for our use as well as an equipped kitchen which allowed us to make breakfast each morning before heading out. The pictures are very accurate of what you are renting!

BUDGET ACCOMMODATION AT LUXURY PRICE. CONS Dirty - Mouldy bathroom tiles, cobwebs on ceiling, dirt splashes behind bin, dirty shelving, Disrepair - rusty portholes, detritus/twigs on sky light, bathroom door unsecured, wardrobe sliding doors dont slide, wardrobe is crooked Uncomfortable - very small, (approx 17 sq m including beds and small kitchen/dining area). Dark - daylight came from small portholes , mostly obsured by other boats as it was in a harbour. Duvet was too small for the bed. Duvet covers were cheap polyester. Duvets were cheap and the pillows were lumpy. The bathroom door did not lock. There is wooden picnic bench outside the property but the entire outside area is untidy and overgrown so we had no wish to use it. PROS Good location, wifi and very good communication from hosts. The host visited us when we complained and cleaned the bathroom tiles and ceiling cobwebs which helped but did not address all our concerns. Being in the houseboat was quite a depressing experience made worse in the knowledge we had paid nearly 2K Euros for 5 days.

It’s a sufficient place to stay, a good location, and the owner is lovely, but you have to climb up and down stairs that are almost like a ladder to get to your room and there is NO view whatsoever. It’s a barge, not really a houseboat. We are older, and wouldn’t have rented if we had known you couldn’t see out and ladder climbing was involved!

What you see is what you get and nothing else

Casper is attentive and helpful. Boat is in a central location. The accommodation is one room with a bathroom. Only very basic amenities, coffee and toilet paper, no soap or shampoo or milk. I would not want to stay here in Summer as there’s no outdoor area to relax. The room has portals but absolutely nothing to view. The heat was good. I think we overpaid for what we got.

Great location, cool experience

Casper is a helpful host/owner. He had a great list of recommendations and showed us around the property when we arrived. The studio was nice and a great location to the train station. With a Vrbo, I expect to rent the whole place, just be aware that you’ll have a neighbor that you share a front door with and that the owner has an adjoining door they stays locked. I never felt unsafe but didn’t feel like this was spelled out on the description. The original listing mentioned a hot tub twice, when I mentioned it he said he didn’t realize that was in the description and quickly updated it. It was a warm weekend, and don’t get great cross breeze, but there were fans available. Pictures are accurate, location is good, owner is helpful, just make sure you’re reading reviews.

Terrific location...

Very close to Central Terminal...easy walk to just about everything. Casper was very accommodating - easy to work with. Boat is small but comfortable; has all you need to enjoy your stay in Amsterdam. We would definitely stay here again if/when we return to Amsterdam.

Cozy houseboat centrally located

We had a very nice few days on the houseboat. It is small and very cozy and equipped with everything you need. Especially nice is the seating area directly in front of the boat. The location is ideal, only 10 minutes walk from the main station and by bike you are also in 10 minutes almost everywhere. Last but not least: Casper is a very wonderful host. Definitely recommendable - and we will be very happy to come back!

Der Vermieter hat auf Wünsche sofort reagiert. Leider haben wir die Unterkunft nicht sofort gefunden, da es ein normaler alter Kahn war und keine Hausnummer oder Hinweis auf Vermietung zu finden war. Ein Blick auf die Gracht durch das Bullauge (siehe Bild) war uns verwehrt, da neben uns ein verrosteter Kahn direkt neben uns lag. Wir gucken also im Abstand von 30 cm auf eine Schiffswand. (Es gab auch knatschende Geräusche durch die gegenseitige Reibung der Kähne).
