Family Europe Vacation

Our family spent two days in Lyon at this location. It’s was perfect for what we needed. Centrally located, easy walking to all the great restaurants and sites to see. If we ever come back to Lyon, we would definitely book again!

New Year's Eve Stay

This location can not be beat. We could easily get to everything we cared to see and had such a wonderful view from the apartment window. The apartment is beautiful with everything you need. The spa bath is a dream. Highly recommend.

Beautiful view of the square

Instagram worthy view makes this a beautiful stay for a night or two on the way through Lyon. Be aware of the flights of stairs if you might have any difficulty with them, but they were ok for us. Didn’t notice much noise from the square and the facilities were all excellent. As with any washer/dryer you might encounter while travelling, this one takes a very long time to dry your clothes, but it was very useful to have in the middle of our long journey across Europe.

A cocoon in the midst of a busy area

We were lucky to book in the cooler months. But, because of a previous review, the owners did install two fans. The apartment was great,for two. More than that would be a squeeze. And while kitchen, which we only used for breakfast, was well,provisioned, a sharp knife would be nice. Well decorated and comfortable. Very clean.

Great apartment, poor stay

Responsive host and beautiful apartment. Master bathroom is lovely and the kitchen was great - also appreciated the washing machine. Unfortunately there’s no AC and the apartment in late July was unbearable - we had to leave early and pay for a hotel on top of the apartment. I also agree with the reviewer who commented on the area; I didn’t feel entirely safe in the back alley where the entrance to the apartment is. I also felt uneasy walking up the 4 flights of stairs in a dimly lit interior. Once in the apartment it’s fine…other than the extreme heat.

We are sorry that the heat made your stay uncomfortable, despite the presence of an air cooler in the apartment. We understand that in the middle of the day, this may not have been enough, and we are thinking about additional solutions to improve comfort. Regarding security in the surrounding area, it is a neighborhood that is usually quiet, but we understand your feelings and will review the lighting in the common areas to make access more pleasant. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in better conditions.

noisy, hot & dirty - great view though!

We left our stay early because the heat, noise and smell were unbearable after several days. The cause: No HVAC which requires opening the windows in the late evenings to try and get some cooler air. The problem: The boisterous, raucous and smoke filled bar tables beneath the window. Every day we couldn't leave the apartment soon enough and dreaded returning. Add to that, and this was a temporary (though every day of our stay) the narrow 80-100 steps (four flights of stairs) were getting plastered, painted and sanded and thus dusty and a bit choking. So it was an active worksite and filthy. Saint Catherine which has the entrance door is full of bar goers at irish pub, hip hop pub, goth pub and more. Wasn't too bad going past the crowds of smokers each night to get into the building, but it felt unsafe at times. Proximity to Parc Terreaux was good. That parking garage is very very nice and 25 Euro a day. The central location of this apartment is very convenient and made walking to Vieux Lyon, Croix Rousse, Lyon Museums wonderful. Great restaurants and shops within a few minutes as well. The view from the apartment is romantic and wonderful. Beds were OK and bathroom very nice. The owners were fairly responsive (usually within 30 minutes) But all that stated, it was a terrible experience, because of the heat, noise and horrendous air quality. As very seasoned global travelers who use VRBO frequently for our family, the HVAC issue makes this a minus 10. Never again.
