Besondere Unterkunft in vielen Belangen

Zunächst mal zu den Schwachstellen: Insgesamt waren wir nur mäßig zufrieden. Von einem "Loft" kann man nicht wirklich sprechen. Es ist einfach ein Mini-Apartment mit einem Raumtrenner - und viel zu klein für vier Personen. Im Badezimmer kann man sich kaum umdrehen, die Küchenzeile reicht für die allernotwendigsten Dinge. Sehr abenteuerlich ist derf Zugang zur Wohnung. Der führt über einige (ziemlich unsichere) Treppen und mehrere Türen bis zur Wohnung. Muss man aber wohl akzeptieren, wenn man in der Altstadt von Lyon untergebracht ist, da dies hier typisch ist. Man sollte es nur vorher wissen :) Die Wohnung selbst sit eigentlich recht schön - wären da nur nicht die vielen kleinen Mängel: Sofa und Bett sind wirklich ziemlich dreckig und durchgelegen, auch das Badezimmer dürfte mal etwas Renovierung vertragen ebenso die extrem einfache Küchenzeile. Internet funktioniert gut, der Fernseher ist so antiquiert, dass wir ihn gar nicht erst probiert haben.Zu den Vorteilen: Die Lage ist schon besonders - so im Zentrum der Altstadt, das ist selten. Allerdings ist das Auto ein echtes Problem. Es gibt zwar Parkplätze an der Straße vor der Wohnung - aber die sind horrend teuer. Die Aussicht auf Lyon ist dafür ebenfalls besonders. Zusammengefasst: Für einen kurzen Aufenthalt zu zweit reicht es. Für einen echten Urlaub, in dem man sich IN der Wohnung auch wohlfühlt, fehlt leider so einiges. Allerdings ist die Unterkunft auch (zumindest in unserem Fall) auch recht günstig gewesen.

Stay in Old Lyon

The location of this property is amazing with regards to tourist attractions … 10-15 minutes walk to the Basilica and Roman Amphitheatre, and less then 10 minute walk to dozens of restaurants!!! Our only disappointment was that the sofa in the living was quite dirty; otherwise the apartment is perfect for visiting Lyon.

If you are under 30 years old and are in good physical shape you’ll be able to climb the steep and treacherous walkway to get to and from the apartment. After entering the double gated entrance and lock box key you'll be faced with 3 sets of stairs to get to the apartment. Inside is a table, four chairs, a couch and a queen mattress on a flat floor base. Old discolored towels you may not want to use, no bath soap or shampoo and 1/2 roll of toilet paper. To top it off a shower door that is not connected to the frame and must be strategically maneuvered to open and close. This was very unsettling. We were happy the morning we left. It was not a pleasant experience.

Un séjour très agréable

Nous avons pu visiter Lyon depuis ce logement agréable et bien placé dans le vieux Lyon entre la cathédrale et la basilique. Les bon conseils de notre hôte ont été les bienvenues.

Cozy Spot in Perfect Location

I had a great stay! The location is great—right in the heart of the city, close to everything. The place was clean, comfy, and had all the basics covered. The host was friendly and communicative. It was a perfect, cozy spot to come back to after exploring the city. Highly recommend!

Amazing Place!

This was by far one of the neatest places I have ever stayed. We loved the town and to come back to such a great flat was icing on the cake. Highly recommend.

Très bien situé

Appartement charmant, parfaitement refait à neuf et conforme aux photos, parfaitement situé pour découvrir Lyon à pieds. Attention cependant aux marches pour accéder à cet appartement, si on ne souhaite pas faire un grand détour par la route, je ne le recommanderai pas à tout le monde.

Great Lyon Getaway

I had a fantastic two weeks staying at this property to explore Lyon and the surrounding area during the Rugby World Cup. The apartment was clean, well appointed, and Laurent and his wife were very friendly and responsive. Vieux Lyon is easily accessible via several different stairways, the road, or the funicular.

The apartment was everything that i expected.

The apartment was excellent. In Old Lyon, so a very old building with huge character. Great location. Met some wonderful people in Lyon. A very beautiful city.

Appartement très bien situé

Difficile d’accès mais une telle vue se mérite ! L’appart est fonctionnel et les bons plans de Laurent appréciables… Petit bémol sur les matelas qui ont un peu vécu mais nous avons passé un très bon week-end.

Do Not Stay Here

I realize this is a business for Laurent and I hate writing this bad review but you need to understand the lack of quality of this rental. First, it is located in a totally filthy building with rat traps, month old piles of pigeon feces, no lighting in the hallways combined with steep flights of stairs of 24 and 19 steps. You come home from dinner and have to navigate your way up 3 floors thru uneven footing. And there is absolutely no access to food or drink on the hill where the apartment is located. You must walk up a very steep climb or walk down over 300 steps to access Vieux Lyon and then either climb back up those stairs or take the Fernicular to the top of the hill and then walk down a very steep hill. And if you have a car, parking is a significant challenge. The landlord is a very bad communicator and unresponsive to complaints. We brought to his attention the problem with lighting in the hallways even after one of us fell on the steep stairs in the dark and received no response. Finally, just about every morning of our stay starting at 8:00 am, demolition work was ongoing beneath us in the building that shook the floor and walls of the apartment for 3-4 hours. This property should NOT be on the VRBO market in its current condition or without full disclosure of the isolation of its location and challenge with accessing what Lyon offers.
