Awkward layout of home and misrepresentation of facilities

Positives: Very clean, well equipped kitchen and beautiful backyard, though unsafe for young children due to koi pond. Negatives: Contrary to listing, this home does not allow you to use the washer and dryer nor the fireplace. Although it has three bedrooms, it is functional only for a single family with small children or two related adults as in order to use bathrooms, you must go through either one or two of the other bedrooms. The bathroom adjacent to Master Bedroom and second bedroom does not have toilet and therefore you must go through the third bedroom or downstairs for a toilet which is awkward and lacks privacy for those sleeping in other two bedrooms at night time. The one full bathroom is "en suite" and lacks a door i.e. only has a shower curtain separating the bedroom and bathroom, offering no auditory or olfactory privacy. Sheets on Master Bedroom bed does not fit the bed, resulting in curling mattress or not using the one provided sheet for that bed. No dishwasher machine soap, no towel or towel rack in downstairs bath, very poor lighting in downstairs bath. Inadequate hot water heater for a three bedroom/6 person house which required waiting 20-30 minutes between each person's shower. In total: this house is overpriced compared to other VRBO properties in this price range and dysfunctional in layout.

Architektenhaus, 2km vom Stadtzentrum Brügge

Sehr schön und individuell eingerichtetes Haus in einem schönen Vorort von Brügge. Tolle, offene Küche, mit guten Elektrogeräten und einem großen Gasherd. Sehr gutes WLAN und drei riesige Fernseher, zudem schöne Duschen. Die Einrichtung ist allerdings schon ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen, und ein wenig „verwohnt“. Die Küchenutensilien waren etwas preiswert und passten nicht zu der insgesamt gehobenen Ausstattung der Küche. Gestört hat uns, dass das Haus bei Ankunft nicht sauber war und die Gästetoilette im Erdgeschoss sehr stark gerochen hat. Zudem sollte man Waschmaschine und Trockner nicht benutzen, obwohl explizit im Inserat als Ausstattungsmerkmal angegeben - das passt nicht. Unser Tipp an die Eigner wäre das Putzpersonal auszuwechseln und dringend die Gästetoilette zu renovieren. In dieser Form ist das Haus nicht den Preis wert, der hier verlangt wird. Ein großer Dank an Steve, der sehr schnell auf unsere Anfrage reagiert hat und sich sehr kooperativ gezeigt hat.

Kurzurlaub im tollen Haus!

Sehr schönes Haus in ruhiger Lage, dennoch zentral gelegen. Die Einrichtung des Hauses war sehr schön, mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Beide Schlafzimmer verfügen über ein eigenes Badezimmer, wobei eins ohne WC ist. Hier muss man immer ins Erdgeschoss zum Gäste WC. Was auch etwas störend war, der helle Boden im Küchen/Wohnbereich. Da war jeden Tag fegen bzw. saugen angesagt 😁 Ansonsten ein tolles Haus, schöner Garten.... Alles was man braucht war vorhanden.

Brilliant Bruges Base

A special home with all the facilities you would expect. Very relaxing but only a short bus ride into the city centre. This home comes highly recommended. In addition to Bruges we also visited Ypres and Ghent. A lovely break and as for the waffles....

Maison très sale!!

La maison était très sale, les lits avec pleines de tâches jaunes, de la saleté partout sur le sol, n‘importe les pièces, des petites bestioles mortes par terre un peu partout, toilettes crades avec une collection d‘arraignées, encore le roulot vide de papier toilettes de celui d‘avant, toilette même sale ... Dans la cuisine tous les utensiles devaient être lavés avant de pouvoir les utiliser ... Vraiment dommage car si la maison serait entretenue elle serait vraiment belle mais nous c‘est sur on y retournera pas. le jardin était également très négligé ce qui nous forcait à rester à l‘interieur si on ne voulait pas d‘ab Faire le ménage. Les photos ne reprennent pas du tout la réalité de la maison. Après en avoir averti la proprio la seule réaction qu‘on a eu c‘est qu‘elle a demandé à sa femme de ménage et que celle-ci lui a répondu que c’était propre et qu‘elle nous souhaitait encore un beau séjour. Pour nous cela était inacceptable comme réaction.

Uniquely different property.

We are a family of 4 with 2 grown up children. We all enjoyed staying in the house and feeding the fish was a real treat. The only downside is the unusual arrangement of bedrooms and bathrooms. The master bedroom had one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in, but did not have access to a toilet, if you need to go in the night you either have to go downstairs or through another 2 bedrooms to use their ensuite, having said that we managed and it did not spoil our enjoyment of the property. We visited Bruge, using the local bus service, we hired bikes and rode to a local village called Damme along the canal. We also had a days visit to Ghent a very beautiful city. On the day we hired bikes we decided to drive into Bruge, we found it very easy and cheap to park at the railway station where you can also hire bikes from a shop located between the carpark and the station. We had a great time and would definitely use the same property again.

Wonderful Place for Holiday with Family

The home of Kathy and Steve is fantastic! We were warmly greeted at the door and the positive feeling lasted the entire time in the city. The space is immaculately clean fully equipped with everything you need and in a beautiful area. Two spare bedrooms make it perfect for a family of 5 or two/three couples. Walking or biking into town is a snap. There is a grocery stores within a 5 minute walk, 2 minute drive. The outdoor seating area is a great place to rest after a walk from town or a 50km bike in the country before you head back out for the night. If an early am walk or bike is in your schedule, you can be in the countryside in 5 min. For our family, it was the perfect place to stay to enjoy the bucolic City of Bruge as well as pastoral country setting just outside. We highly recommend it to everyone. When we return to Belgium, we will stay here again.

Busstop voor de deur is perfect. Erg genoten van het huis en Brugge. Mooie tuin erbij. Echter niet geschikt voor 6 volwassenen vanwege gedeelde slaapkamer voor 4 personen. Slaapbank is geschikt voor kleine kinderen

Sehr gepflegtes Haus mit viel Charme

Ein wunderbares Haus, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr gepflegt. Viel Licht, eine tolle Küche, gute Betten und ein wunderschöner Garten mit Formgehölz und Koi-Teich. Wir haben uns bei gutem wie bei schlechterem Wetter sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Lage ist sehr gut, ein ausgesprochen ruhiges und blumiges Wohnviertel, man erwacht morgens am Vogelgezwitscher. Tolle Ausflüge in allen Richtungen sind an einem Tag schnell zu erreichen. Sehr unkomplizierte und unglaublich freundliche Vermieter.

Leuke plek

Stunning!

Modern, minimalist and very comfortable. Every need catered for including a log fire. The gardens were a joy, its only sad that we needed a little more warmth outside to enjoy them to the full. The owners were welcoming and charming. Easy transport links with a bus stop outside to the centre and the railway station. We spent a day in Brussels, going by train and it was so easy. All in all a great week and this home comes highly recommended.

Almost perfect

Very pleasant and comfortable house and nice owner ( Kathy) We had An unpleasant smell in the secundary Bathroom which was a shame. Bus stop in front of the house and good garden to bring a dog.

Excellent vacation location

Wonderful house, well equipped. Kathy and Steve were extremely helpful and accommodating. The house is located steps from a bus stop- quick ride into the old town. We also walked into town- takes about 25 min. The house's atmosphere is open and relaxing. After a long day of touring Bruges, it was great to come back to the house and relax. Diffidently our choice for the place to stay on our next visit.

Modern architecture at its holiday best!

What a fantastic house! Comfortable and cosy to come back to after a day cycling, wandering round Bruges or visiting the beautiful beach at De Haan. Bring your bikes as it's super cycle friendly here and the cars make way for you. Kathy the owner is extremely nice and helpful with any questions or help you may need. The house is really well equipped from a very comfy master bed to the lovely shower and comfy sofa. Shame there isn't more uk channels on the TV for the evenings once the kids are in bed. Bring some DVDs. All in all though, rent this house.

A lovely place in wonderful land

Flanders are a fantastic land of art, history, chocolate and great beers. This confortable home has a personal style and it is complete of everything you need! at least in our week, heating was not necessary, and in any case, the fireplace would have been a good alternative.

Wow lovely house loved our stay

We've just had a lovely week in this house. Obviously somebody loves this house and treats it like a home. It's in a nice area just outside of Bruge. As others have said, it's easy to get into Bruges from this nice and quiet residential area. 10 mins tops in the bus and 5 mins in a taxi. We loved Ostende beach which is less than 30 mins away. We will be back. Thank you for sharing your home. Ps the garden is wonderful and we loved the fish!

A comfortable stay in a beautiful house

The property is well maintained and unique in the way it is designed. We are a family of 5 adults and found the place very comfortable. Kathy is quite accessible and helpful. The property is close to the Bruges City Center.

Very good starting point for visiting Bruges

Charming ambiente with good interior. Complete tools for cooking and eating. We found at our arrival a very well prepared and clean house. When we met Kathy we received very frendly explanations to the accomodation and how to get to Bruges centre. Thank you very much. We will recommend the house to our friends.

Amazing place to stay :)

This property is modern inside and we felt at home straight away. You only need ur passport and credit card to stay as everything is provided for you in the House. Well thought out property rental. Amazing bed and big tv. Lovely garden. Bus stop right outside and 2€ each way to centre and taxi 12€ home. Perfect. Will definately be returning for the winter markets too.

This property is designed by Architect Degeyter. A well known architect that has designed beautiful houses in Flanders in the 60's. This house has a lot of charm and is a real eye catcher. Big enough for a small family and small enough to have a cozy feeling and homey atmosphere. The house has been completely renovated in May 2016.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Even though you are still in Bruges, the house is located outside the city center and let's you enjoy the great benefits of a beautiful garden with a lounge corner. Also pets are allowed and have there own outside doghouse. Also free private parking in front of the house for 2 cars is a huge benefit in Bruges. If you wanna leave the car in front of the house, it is very safe and the bus stop is right in front of the house with busses every 15 min that take you downtown in 10 min.
