Beautiful Stay

Upper Vobster Farm is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places I have visited. As soon as you step food on the grounds, it is evident that every detail is taken care of and the stillness of the place just welcomes you to let go, unwind and take a rest from your day-to-day. A very beautiful stay, I would whole heartedly recommend and will definitely be back.

Simply the best accommodation

A lovely short vacation outside Bath

We stayed at Upper Vobster Farm for a few days over half term. It was a lovely peaceful place, where my son was able to help feed the animals every morning (special thanks to Adam for this) Room was clean, well maintained and perfect for our break. Ideal for trips to Longleat Safari, with a few nice local restaurants (Talbot Inn and Royal Oak). Highly recommended

A Stunning Location And a Fabulous Stay

Every detail said 'you're special - you deserve our utmost care and love' from the beautiful fresh flowers, the pristine cleanliness and the comfortable beds to the soft white robes and thick towels, I felt like I was wrapped up in love. Then there were the views and the most beautiful scenery and historical farmland to explore. A beautiful stay and I'd recommend it 100%.

We had a great stay at a great location. The countryside is beautifull and a lot of the surrounding sounds are nice and sound familiar. The location is pratical for day trips in the region. In half an hour to one hour we arrived at our destanation for the day. Ideal for us.

Best place in the world to stay!

This is one of my favourite places in the world to stay. Every detail is taken care of from beautiful bath linen, to fluffy towels and a fabulous well stocked kitchen with all the basics - tea, coffee, scrummy chocolate biscuits etc. thank you Tricia and Micheal it’s such a treat to stay .

Valley View is a lovely spacious and very supportive home, whilst away from home. Huge windows which offer a delightful view of the valley below as well as the surrounding area that has beautiful walking paths and gorgeous scenery, which were enjoyed each day.

So welcomed by our host/manager Natalie. Loved the room with the sun shining in on a cold autumn afternoon. A beautiful clear space with stunning views of the countryside Everything you needed in our kitchen. Hot showers . Warm towel rails. A robe was a beautiful touch. Meeting other guests. Exploring the farm. Finding beautiful places to sit and enjoy the landscape and all the farm animals like chickens, sheep, ducks, geese, dogs. Certainly would recommend to others who would like a farm experience and a deliciously restful holiday. Also delightful for families with young children as each day they could help with feeding of the animals. 5 +

Luxurious

This holiday farm destination is highly recommended. It was spotless and provided all the equipment needed, including a dishwasher. A luxurious bathroom and sumptuous bedding added to the comfort of our stay. Bring earplugs though as the rooster rises very early. It is perfectly located for travelling for various days out, including Bath. Great service, lovely people and a welcoming hello from Toby, the dog.

A weekend in rural Somerset

We stayed in Valley View for a weekend only. We arrived early, planning to stroll around the beautiful grounds until check-in. Very fortuitously, we were able to check in early. Everyone we met could not have been more welcoming. The accommodation was exactly as presented on the website. Exceptionally clean and cared for. We had such a relaxing time. The location is so very lovely, the views are wonderful.

Stunning accommodation, spectacular views, grounds and an amazing team.

I spent three nights at Valley View. Every need is catered for and very responsive team. The room was spotless, light, beautifully furnished, dressed with super comfy beds and tremendous views. The grounds with so many paths to weave through and explore, woods, ponds, fields, wild flowers and animals. Lara, the gardener attends to the grounds beautifully. Then there are the animals, fabulous hens, ducks and lambs. Upper Vobster Farms is renowned for the attention to detail in every room, everything thought of, including delicious home cooked curry on arrival. Thank you Natalie. A restful and enjoyable stay.

Nothing short of amazing!

We had an absolute fantastic time at the farm. Our host Micheal was very accommodating and was an all around gentleman. The facilties were in perfect condition and the rooms were very clean. The room has a fantastic view - the pictures don't do it justice. The animals were a definite highlight of our stay. We got the chance to feed the animals twice everyday. Our daughter loved it! This is a perfect spot whether you are a solo traveler, with a partner, or with kids. Highly recommend it.

Very pretty accommodation in beautiful surroundings

Upper Vobster Farm is a gorgeous, peaceful place to stay just 10 minutes drive from the arty town of Frome. We were treated to the Valley View room as we needed a kids bed as well. This is a beautifully decorated room with a separate little kitchen area, that looks out over the lush countryside and property of Upper Vobster. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space so you can unpack and feel at home. Natalie was a lovely, friendly and helpful host, very welcoming and warm. And Adam was a great source of information and help when it came to feeding the animals every morning. This was a big drawcard for the kid. All up, if you love the sound of roosters in the morning (which I do!) and the large expanse of the English countryside in a well-maintained and clean property, this is the place for you. Highly recommend.

The most glorious farm break away

I booked to stay in Valley View with my husband and two children (10 and 2) for a few days, well needed break. From the moment we booked the information we were provided with, about not only the venue itself but also the ongoings within the area such as restaurants, pubs, tourist attractions etc, was so so incredibly helpful. Any queries were always answered promptly. On arrival, as we drove through the gates we felt like we had hit the jackpot. It is located in a quiet, yet convenient, area and the scenes were absolutely breathtaking. You are welcomed by the natural noises of the farm and it is almost indescribable - It was simply fantastic. Beautiful walks, conveniently placed benches on route, stunning lake scenes ( bring your walking boots :) ) We were able to help feed the chickens, sheep and ducks in the morning and pick our own eggs which was just delightful. My daughters confidence has grown as the animals were so friendly and my son has come back home feeling like the David Attenborough of Upper Vobster Farm. The room itself was spotless and modern with really comfortable beds and pillows. The kitchen had everything you needed from a spoon to a soup blender! Everyone was so friendly and everything about our break was faultless. We will be booking to go back in the summer (if there is availability!).

Valley View - An amazing stay in the Somerset Countryside

An amazing view from our cottage - very relaxing and extremely comfortable stay - a very special place warm , friendly and welcoming hosts - excellent heating, sleeping, showering and kitchen facilities at Valley View. easy access to Bath and surrounding villages .. our 3 year old grandson’s excited remark was that he loved to visit wild places with the farm animals .by which I think he meant it was beautifully remote & in the Somerset countryside We hope to return soon - it is definitely in our top 10 also thank you for your very easy to use information guide, maps etc and all the signposting & communication before our arrival.

Fabulous Stay - Glorious Scenery

Heaven on earth

We have just stayed in the valley view suite and found it absolutely gorgeous. The standard and quality was the best with stunning views and furnishings that have been sensitively chosen. To have a separate kitchenette was an absolute bonus. The feel of the room left us wanting to stay longer to absorb more of the feeling and ambiance of the Farm. We can hand on heart recommend Upper Vobster Farm for a restful and revitalising break.

With my parents we look after 55 acres of land in the Somerset countryside. Growing up at the farm since 1991 over the years we have restored the buildings and the land back to its glory, so now guests can enjoy all the farm and area has to offer.

Upper Vobster Farm is a beautiful country property lovingly restored and created to help you take a rest from the stresses of life. There are so many pressures around us that take away our space and time. Upper Vobster Farm is somewhere where you can allow yourself to have a moment to be yourself again. We have 55 acres of land, including a 6 acre wood, which is a nature conservation area and preservation area for birds of prey. Nature, the woods and the sounds of the birds will make you stop in your tracks and feel the magic around. As well as the buzzards, kestrels and red kites you may well see the resident kingfishers on the stream or by one of the lakes, or hear the woodpecker at work in the ancient oak tree.

As our guest you are welcome to enjoy all that we have to offer. There are wonderful walks, places to sit and time to be. From the buildings the land slopes down to a stream in the valley below. There are two small lakes with damsel flies and dragonflies, one with a beach with logs and rocks to sit on that also harbours a large number of newts and the other one which is near an old stone bridge that leads you on to the old drovers way. But please remember that playing in or by or with water is what children like best and it is your responsibility to make sure that they are supervised by an adult at all times.

You’ll find a flock of North Ronaldsay rare breed sheep, pygmy goats, various ducks which live in their own castle, many varieties of hens and other wildlife. Grasses and wildflowers are abundant in summer, bluebells and wild garlic in spring and numerous fungi in autumn. Winter frosts leave an enchanting feel to treasure when you’re all wrapped up and can come back to a warm fire.

Set in 55 acres of Somerset farm and woodland to explore, with a 6 Acre Ancient Wood with Bluebells and Wild garlic in Spring. Come and join us feed the animals in the mornings, book the fire pit to be out in nature, allow your body to settle sitting by the pond.

We are close to Longleat, Bath, Frome, Cheddar Gorge and many other Somerset attractions. Babington House is just around the corner.

And whilst here you can still work and keep up with the world as we have dedicated fibre internet upto 100 Mbps.
