The Grapefruit House is an old mill of the 19th century located in a beautiful, quiet position in Castelli, a small medieval stone walls village only 5 minutes drive from the famous Garlenda Golf Course and 10 minutes drive from the sandy beaches of Alassio and Laigueglia, where there are lots of restaurants, bars and nice shops.
It's 5 minutes drive to Villanova d'Albenga, a medieval town with shops and a well stocked supermarket.
It is located in a strategical position as you can either spend the day at home in the quietness of its beautiful garden enjoying the swimming pool or going to play golf or tennis available in the surroundings.
Alassio is very near and it’s the ideal place if you like shopping, or staying on the sea.
It is famous for its beautiful beaches and its transparent sea.
Albenga is also near and offers beautiful medieval churches and very good restaurants where you can enjoy the typical Ligurian cuisine .
The property is in a very quiet place, surrounded by beautiful olive groves that produce a very good olive oil.
During the day you can swim in the beautiful swimming pool , or idle around in the garden enjoying the quietness of the beautiful hills surrounding the house, relax in the hammocks, or play ping pong on the big professional ping-pong table.
As an alternative you can go and play golf in the beautiful Garlenda golf course that is only 5 minutes' drive from the house.
In the summer evenings the quietness of the place is amazing and staying at night in the pool area looking at the sky full of stars is really an unique experience.
It's the perfect place to spend a holiday with your family and a group of friends, enjoying great meals prepared in the bbq area .

I am Italian and live in Milan. We discovered Garlenda because we are golf players and decided to rent a small apartment in Garlenda Golf Club to spend our summer holidays. After some years we discovered the nice medieval village of Castelli and fell in love with the Grapefruit House that we bought in 2006.
We refurbished the House in 2007. After one year we built the swimming pool, refurbished the bbq area and built the studio apartment under the pool.
One of our favorite sport is golf and Garlenda Golf Club is the ideal place to play also during the winter. In Liguria autumn and winter days are often very pleasant, with mild temperature that may vary between 12 to 21 degrees .
Another of our favourite hobbies is the vegetable garden located on the highest terrace of the property where we grow tomatoes, zucchini, aubergines ,potatoes, etc.
We love very much our place because there are many pleasant trails on the hills where you can walk and or ride your bicycle looking at the beautiful landscape around.
In the surroundings there is also a tennis club with about six tennis courts and a riding
school near Garlenda Golf Club.
I like very much Villanova d'Albenga the closest medieval town where there are many restaurants serving the typical Ligurian cuisine. We like very much Italian wine and there are some interesting wineries in the surroundings.
Another place close to Castelli that's one of my favorite is Alassio, where there are many beautiful beaches and many nice shops.
Laigueglia is another nice town on the coast near Alassio. From Alassio you can reach it
in about 20 minutes 'walk along the sea.
In my opinion the place offers a lot of possibilities to do many different pleasant activities. Another asset is that we it's near to Milan and and we can spend here just a weekend.
It's the right choice for an unforgettable holiday with your family and your friends.

I have decided to rent my house because I think it's a place worth staying to have a nice rest and a good time after working hard , far from the confusion and noise of big cities in the quiet of the beautiful Ligurian landscape. It's an experience that I wanted to share with other people.

The house is surrounded by beautiful olive trees, is not isolated because it's in the small medieval village of Castelli. It's in a strategic position as it's near both the Golf Club and the tennis Club. Then Alassio is 5 minutes’ drive from the house and in 10 minutes’drive you can reach Albenga, a very nice medieval town on the. There are many sport activities that everybody can do in the surroundings . In the area there are many typical restaurants where you can taste the Ligurian food and wine. It's the ideal place for a quiet vacation with your family and friends.
It's possible to rent only the bbq. area, where there are 3 bedrooms with their private bathroom and the swimming pool, in case you need a smaller place to spend your holiday ( this area is suitable for 6 people)
