About The Owner

Two couples with adult children own this property which we bought in 2006. We have 7 grandchildren (ages 1 - 16) who love coming up here. I am a native of Colorado and believe that this is one of the best areas in the state as it is only one hour from our Denver home, but is central to 5 ski areas for winter use. We can tell you about our favorite sledding hills and cross county skiing/snow shoeing areas. It is also gorgeous in the summer and has the full amenities of biking, hiking, fishing, and all the activities which Summit County offers.

The Owner purchased this house in 2006

Why The Owner chose Northwest

We sometimes pinch ourselves for finding what we think is the perfect location. We have easy access to I-70 and 5 ski areas!! We are just a couple of blocks from Main Street, but are in a nice area with great neighbors. We can walk anywhere, are right by a great park, a beautiful creek, access to the bike path, and have a view!! Frisco is just a delightful, charming and friendly town.

What makes this house unique

When we bought this house, it already had mountain ambience with the pine cabinets and pine trim. We worked hard to decorate it so that you would feel very comfortable, could relax, and not worry about 'fussy' accents. My parents owned a rental vacation home in the Rocky Mountains for 20 years prior to us buying this home, so we know what we needed to do to accomodate our guests. We take a lot of pride in our home and are just hoping you feel blessed here and that your 'soul' is refreshed and restored. There's just something about the privacy of a home (vs. a condo) and having a two car garage where you can safely store your skis, bikes, fishing poles, or ??? We have never had a negative comment from a guest. We are starting to get repeat guests.

Stayed here for 3 nights while 1/2 of our party was skiing and the other half was enjoying Frisco. Good space, easy access to downtown and to highways for the slopes. Owner was very attentive and helpful (no help was needed, but they did check up and make sure we had entrance instructions, even let us know when cleaning was done in case we could check in early).

comfortable vacation home

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect house for me and my husband and our adult children for a family vacation. There are two bedrooms upstairs and two bedrooms on the first floor so we could spread out. Lovely living area with large dining table. Kitchen had everything we could possibly need. Enjoyed a cozy wood burning fire as we enjoyed family time watching a DVD from Redbox as the snow fell outside the large picture windows to the deck. Fully equipped, comfortable and in a great location. The owners are caring and responsive. You won't go wrong and at a great price for the location.

Had a great time

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time to stay at this house. We had such a great time the first time that we chose it again when we came back to Colorado for our family ski trip. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. The hot tub and fireplace was so nice after a long day of skiing. The owners are very easy to work with. Everything about this house is welcoming and inviting.

Cozy and Charming Rental

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home in Frisco, CO. The place is even more lovely than the pictures portray. The rooms are spacious and inviting. The hot tub on a cold starry night was just fabulous! It is ideally located, with just a short walk to the quaint main street of Frisco. The owner is quick to respond to correspondence and extremely helpful. It was a perfect home away from home. Highly recommended! We cannot wait to return.

Great stay and skiing in Frisco - February

  • 5 of 5

Arrived in Frisco during a snow storm (which was welcomed) and got the house to easily drop off all our luggage so we could proceed to get our ski rentals. The owner went out of their way to help accommodate our group of 11 with an extra cot for sleeping arrangements, which made all of our guests stay more comfortable. The house also had a few extra pieces of skiing gear if by chance you forgot a hat, some socks, or even a ski jacket.

Nature: Scenery around the house is amazing, with view of the mountains and rivers running through the town. We weren't lucky enough to see, but when we awoke after a snow and went in the front yard we found gargantuan moose tracks and one of the neighbors confirmed our suspicions.

Heating: The main living room of the house proved to be difficult to heat without the use of the fireplace, which at first we were very cautious about using (being from Texas and unfamiliar with electric heaters), but soon learned to use it with the help of the directions provided by the owner.

Transit: Some of group finished skiing early and were able to shuttle to within walking distance of the house using the Summit County Transit buses. Also, one member in our group shuttled all the way from Denver International Airport and made it to the house easily; so one could enjoy a trip to this house using only public/private transit. We did not see any ride sharing (uber/lyft) options in the area, but they're not needed as main street is down the street.

Garage: One of the main reasons we chose this house was for the 2 car garage. After your done skiing you don't want to unload your car, pulling into the garage and leaving your gear in the car is the way to go (just make sure you bring in your ski boots). Also, the garage has ski racks for upright storage, and has a small little desk if you need to do any tuning on your boards or skis.

A little about the area: We've chose to come to the Summit County area for the second year in a row for a ski trip, and it was amazing both years. Frisco is uniquely situated in between some of the best Colorado ski resorts, with minimal drive time to each (<30 minutes). We chose to go to Copper Mountain for 2 days, and the historic Loveland Ski Area for another. There is great food in Frisco, we ate at Salt + Bread, Silverheels, Backcountry Brewery, and Mountain Lyon Café in Silverthorne.

I'd stay here again!

  • 5 of 5

For Christmas 2016, I took my family (9 of us) to Colorado for a ski trip. With 4 bedrooms there was plenty of beds for everyone. We enjoyed the use of the hot tub almost every night. We made use of the wood burning fireplace every night. When they said all the wood you would need, they weren't kidding. The garage had stacks of clean dry wood. No brushing snow off their wood pile. Smart! Christmas Day was blistery so we didn't ski. We walked a few blocks to town, found a place that was open and had drinks and food. The walk was short and even though it was snowing and blowing, we enjoyed it. I would recommend staying at this house!
