Detta är en underbar, rymlig, traditionell radhus vid havet, byggd i en tid då rika Edinburgh-familjer också köpte ett hus vid havet för att svalka på de varma sommardagarna.

De breda trappuppgångarna ligger över 3 våningar, plus en mezzaninivå, en funktion, särskilt den slingrande trappuppgången mellan första och andra våningen (Observera; de är lite för breda för standardtrappportar, så det kanske inte är perfekt för unga barn). Salongen är placerad på första våningen, som var för tidens norm, med 3 stora fönster som låter ljuset strömma in. Från översta våningen finns utsikt över Arthur's Seat framifrån och över Firth of Forth till Fife på baksidan.

Huset har genomgått en omfattande renovering till mycket hög standard och har 4 sovrum, salong, matsal, nytt utrustat kök, familjebadrum med jacuzzi, en toalett på varje våning, full gas centralvärme, högtryck varmt vatten system, nytt utrustat kök, sovrum med eget badrum, färsk dekoration i hela, WiFi, kabel-TV, video och DVD, strykjärn och strykbräda, hårtorkar, linne och handdukar. Allt du behöver i ett hus med självhushåll nära Edinburgh!

Perfect short stay.

Beautiful house to stay in. Everything you would need was there. Such a well equipped kitchen, comfy lounge and very comfortable beds. A few minutes walk from the beach. Local buses near by to explore the area. A perfect break away for a catch up with family. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Phenomenal from beginning to end

This incredibly charming house was ideally located in a quaint and perfectly located neighborhood steps, from the beach, amazing restaurants and shops and within a short commute from tourist, destinations. This was a perfect place for our once in a lifetime visit to the UK.

Great Stay at the Beach

Our family very much enjoyed our stay in Portobello. The house was great and there a number restaurants, pubs, stores nearby. Portobello provides a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh, but all of the iconic sites in Edinburgh are only a quick bus ride away. We would highly recommend this property and look forward to coming back in the future.

Amazing!

Every now and then you come across a place that is so amazing that you actually consider NOT recommending it to others just so you can keep it to yourself.This place is a slice of heaven. Comforable, cozy, clean with a full kitchen. Next to Portobello beach, which was perfect for morning strolls with Lorne rolls and a coffee in hand. Close enough to Edinburgh to do all the touristy stuff but far enough away to avoid the crowds.

Wonderful and will return for another visit

This place was in a quaint location. Super quiet and close to the beach. Very clean and spacious. Very well maintained and overall amazing. Kitchen was very well equipped! Manager was so nice and welcoming. There’s even a store a couple min walk away for groceries. Bus stop was a short walk also and a short commute into downtown Edinburgh.

City break - by the beach

Fantastic sized house able to accommodate 2 families The house was well equipped, we were able to access the house slightly early which was massive benefit after 7 hours of travel Parking was a bit tricky, but the proximity to the beach and overall quality of the accommodation more than compensated Grateful for the owners having us stay. Fabulous home

Very welcoming home on 3 levels. Was beautifully decorated with quirks and style but also very well kitted out in the kitchen. Great heating, hot water, relaxing lounge, great kitchen and comfy beds with lovely white linens.

A beautiful house with loads of charm and character, in an absolutely gorgeous town. Very clean and with everything we needed. Patrick was always quick to reply to any messages and friendly and helpful and the check-in was easy.Luckily we didn’t have a problem finding a parking space and they do seem to come and go throughout the day. Would definitely come back to both this property and to Portobello. Portobello is a very chilled place with a happy vibe and loads of very happy doggies on the beach! Loved it. Thank you.

Loved our stay

The house was great! We loved the second floor sitting room and the proximity to the beach. There was a delicious bakery very close by. Our flight was very delayed and we didn't arrive at the house until much later than anticipated and Patrick was very responsive to our plight. The only drawback to the house might be the parking but we used public transportation and didn't pick up our rental vehicle until the day we left,

I moved to Portobello from Edinburgh City Centre when I fell in love with what was then a very dilapidated house with a lot of potential. Having spent all my spare time (and money) on the house for 5 years, I got a job in Italy and had to leave it behind in 2010. Not being able to part with it, I decided on holiday rentals which have proven to be very popular.

Varför värden valde detta boende

It's a real home. Many guests have commented on that. This could be because of all the dedication and love that went into its restoration!

It's bursting with character and many original features have been retained or reinstated, along side modern twists with lighting and art.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

It's difficult to say what in particular I fell in love with when I first saw the house. It may have been the stairs and the light. There was a lovely feel to the place. The first floor living room with 3 big windows and original fireplace is a favourite, as is the wee room at the top with a view across the water to Fife.. Or the big bedroom at the top with a view to Arthur's Seat.

And I should mention the great community spirit in Porty. So many people will say hello, whether you know them or not and the High Street is full of great shops, bars and cafes.
