Welcome to "Baerfoot Doral Cottage," a charming 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom sanctuary nestled on a tranquil wooded lot within a quiet cul-de-sac in Bethany West. This home offers the perfect balance of peaceful seclusion and coastal convenience—enjoy an easy bike ride to downtown Bethany or hop on the local trolley, which stops nearby every half hour.


Coastal Convenience: Includes one residential parking pass for the town of Bethany Beach and off-street parking for up to six vehicles.

Perfect Quiet Beach Weekend

House was perfect for what we were looking for. Close enough to walk or take the trolley, but far enough away that it allowed privacy and peace. Would definitely stay again!

My husband loved the back porch. Each area had their own AC, which was nice. Comfortable and easy access to the beach (1 mile walk but we had the parking pass, so it was easy to get close). And there was a beach and downtown trolley. Very organized. Great subdivision with pool and workout center.

Check in/ check out was easy.1st Choice communicated very well and provided a nice welcome package with essentials.The property is comfortable and cozy. The location is very convenient to everythingAs someone else memtioned i would update info regarding pool passes as it was a little expensive for 5 guest passes.Not suprisingly, because of the wooded location, there are a lot of ants. If you leave anyting sweet on the counters expect a swarm. The Terro ant killer i found under the sink worked well.

We Enjoyed our week in Bethany

Convenient location in Bethany West. Comfortable house, all beds were comfortable and kitchen was reasonably stocked with essential cookware. The only bathroom with a tub is upstairs, and there is a spiral staircase.

Property had plenty of space. There was an ant problem that was quickly taken care by management. Curb appeal would be so much better if landscaping was improved. The location is great and neighborhood is nice and quiet

Needs Work

This house is in desperate need of upgrades in every room. Kitchen, floors, walls, beds are all very old and in poor condition. Day 1 we found ants in the kitchen and contacted the property manager but they never sent anyone to take care of it. Lots of spiders in the bathrooms. Paid the fee for linens but we had to make all the beds then strip them at the end of the week ourselves. Location was good. House is in a quiet neighborhood and just a short drive to the beach, restaurants and shopping. Kids enjoyed the community pool and riding the trolley.

Bethany- 2024

Enjoyed the home. Had a continuous battle with small ants on the counter and some cabinets. Noticed that they were climbing up the outside of the house too. Suggest perimeter ant control be applied periodically. Removal of some of the saplings along the edges of the driveway would allow easier access in/out. Would recommend monthly cleaning of gutters- we endured some heavy rainstorm due to the hurricane and the water just went right over the gutters because they were plugged full of pine needles. One day we encountered a downy woodpecker knockin' on the exterior.... Sent him (her ?) packin'!!! Enjoyed our family time. Thank you again for your hospitality. Gordon & Sally Scott

Summer Vacation - Family

Communication was through property management company. Communication was most effective through email and phone, not VBRO messages. There were ants in the kitchen, small black ants; we have experienced this before when staying in a home in Bethany in the woods; but situation not preferable. Carpet may have been cleaned....hard to tell because there are stains, so didn't care to walk around on it with bare feet. Bathrooms clean, bedrooms clean. Queen beds were wonderful, new mattresses. Twin mattresses old, not great on comfort. Had kitchen necessities we needed. Outdoor shower great. We had seen an older version of the house on VBRO therefore did not bring correct sheet sizes and pool pass info was not accurate....BUT property mgt. company took care of right away and lent us sheets at no charge. All in all, loved the stay. Location is great for kids riding bikes and walking to Bethany. Loved the beach parking pass that came with house!!! Nice back screened-in porch. Thank you!

Great space, great location

I enjoyed that the property wasn’t incredibly close to the beach, but if you bike it’s perfect! If you wanted to walk, you could…. Or go park beachside. You don’t deal with beachside noise at night, it’s quiet! Lots of info in the home for food and getting around town. Has everything you need in the house to cook(bring your own food of course) very clean. Slight smoke smell, very faint, might have been previous renter who maybe smoked on the porch.

Overall a good stay

The location of the house was awesome! The neighborhood was cute and quiet. The outdoor shower was a big help when we came back from the beach with the kids. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. They had lots of paper products, blankets and pillows. During our stay a dining room chair broke because it was very old and had been glued several times. When we talked to the rental company they apologized and did not attempt to charge us for the chair. Overall the house was clean and in a good location.

Queen beds were comfy. Screened in porch was nice. Ceiling fans were great! The outside was a mess - from the street, it was the least appealing on the street. Branches, over grown, loose step. Having to wait until 4:00 to sign in and then check out was at 10:00 - you really paid for a day you couldn't use.
