Âmago do Centro Histórico Unesco, Entre a Alta Universitária e a Baixa da Cidade

The name "Casas da Cerca" (Houses of the Fence) is associated with the location and physical structure of the property, sharing a wall with the Convent of Santo Agostinho, dating from 1593, which currently houses the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra. Two houses with unique characteristics can be joined internally, but they constitute autonomous units. The first house, number 8, has a bedroom with a double bed and an extra single bed, a large open-plan living room overlooking the kitchen and dining area, and a bathroom. The second house, number 10, has a bedroom with a double bed, a living room, a separate kitchen, and a bathroom. Both are located at the top of the building, where the wooden roof itself provides shape, texture, and light to the spaces. In both, the living room has large sofa beds, and in the case of the living room of number 10, a single bed is built into a piece of furniture.
