Gate opens to the sea

The back gate opens to the sea with a sandy Beach very close by. The outdoor porch is covered and ideal for relaxing. We would stay again at this seaside home in a very quiet area.

Great secluded ocean front place

After transitioning from a small intown condo in Polignano a Mare, we appreciated the indoor living and property space of this private home. Of course, being steps away from the Adriatic Sea and close to Otranto was a huge plus.

Otranto family vacation

We were pleased with the location. Gorgeous cove and beach nearby. We had problems with locals not allowing us through the gate on arrival. Our casa flooded in 3 areas during a severe storm. I would recommend this VRBO for location and view. There are steps to the bedrooms which was not ideal.

The beach access & beach was fabulous as well as the outdoor seating areas rating if 10 out of 10. The indoor areas are lacking…. The kitchen did have basic necessities like dish towels & pot holders. The master bedroom was fine but the 2nd bedroom & bathroom smelled musty / mildewy and the bathroom needs remodeling. One of the clickers to open the gate didn’t have batteries & I couldn’t find any to replace them so each couple could not come & go from the property without the other. Indoor accommodations rating 5; 2nd bedroom & bathroom rating 2.

Although the location was great and the garden beautiful, inside the house was not well representated by the pictures and seems lot bigger on the website. More importantly, the check-in was done through electronic box and it seems obvious to us that the house has not been open for weeks. They were a humidity smell that was very unpleasant and was still there after 48 hours. We decided to leave half way through our stay.

Lage ist super - aber …..

Das Haus ist extrem in die Jahre gekommen. Den muffigen Geruch bekommt man auch in 14 Tagen mit intensiven Lüften nicht raus. Kleiderschränke deshalb nicht nutzbar. Küche mangelhaft ausgestattet (Tassen, Gläser, keine Gewürze vor Ort, nicht mal Salz und Pfeffer). Geschirrschrank ebenfalls muffiger Geruch. Das Haus ist höchstens mit 3 Personen nutzbar. Das zweite Doppelbett steht zu 3/4 im Durchgang zum Einzelbett bzw. WC/Dusche. Duschen sind sehr klein und eine davon mit defektem Duschschlauch. Kein Wäschewechsel nach einer Woche, auch keine frischen Handtücher. Waschmaschine ist in einem Abstellraum und nur in gebückter Haltung nutzbar. WLAN Verbindung sehr lückenhaft. Wirklich sehr schade. Einzig die Lage mit direktem Zugang zum Meer (Steintreppe mit felsigem Zugang), die direkte Sicht auf‘s Meer vom Gartentisch aus und der kleine Sitzplatz in Meernähe sind wunderschön. Kleiner Sandstrand kurze Strecke zu Fuß erreichbar. Meist auch sehr ruhige Umgebung.
