Hermosa casa justo en el río Susquehanna! Impresionantes vistas al río desde las ventanas frontales. A poca distancia de Capitol, Midtown Scholar Bookstore, Broad Street Market, Strawberry Square, Whitaker Center. Casa luminosa y luminosa con interior actualizado. Somos minimalistas en nuestra decoración, por lo que no tenemos mucho desorden. Pero creemos en tener artículos de calidad y valor. ¡Cada artículo decorativo en nuestra casa ha sido elegido cuidadosamente y nos trae mucha alegría! Edredones Amish hechos a mano en todas las camas. Hermosas vidrieras. Obras de arte locales y originales en toda la casa. Una alfombra persa en la sala de estar hecha de tintes naturales y comprada a través de una organización de comercio justo. 2 terrazas al aire libre donde puedes relajarte y comer. Un patio al aire libre de la cocina. También nos encanta desayunar en el verano en la mesita afuera de nuestra puerta. Hablando de desayuno, nos encantan las rosquillas y los rollos de canela a solo unas cuadras de Broad St. Mercado. Somos miembros de la fe menonita, lo que significa que no se nos permite tener un televisor en nuestro hogar. Sin embargo, no queremos imponer nuestros valores a nuestros huéspedes, por lo que brindamos WiFi gratis, así que traiga su computadora portátil y sus dispositivos para obtener su tiempo de pantalla. Nuestra familia disfruta hablar, caminar y jugar juntos. Tenemos juegos de mesa y libros en la casa para su disfrute. ¡Disfruta del aire libre! Simplemente camine afuera y comience a trotar, caminar y andar en bicicleta a lo largo del río. Sabemos lo difícil que es encontrar alojamientos similares en hoteles donde los grupos puedan pasar tiempo juntos. Historia: La casa fue propiedad por 35 años. por un profesor de psiquiatría. Ambos somos profesores también, de biología y ciencias políticas. ¡Esta casa es un gran lugar para relajarse y descansar del trabajo!

Beautiful location on the river for walks and views. The fact it was a halfway point between western NY and southern VA made it a perfect place to meet for Thanksgiving. Most of our family enjoyed an Escape Room and we all enjoyed Indian Echo Caverns. Our catered Thanksgiving meal was very good from Simply Turkey and the kitchen was very accommodating for food and meals we brought along. A few minor things to note: It would have been nice to have a heads up in the hosts review about shower body soaps and shampoos not being provided. There was a fire place, but no instructions as to whether it was functional or how to use it. Overall, it was a house we will consider for a future visit, hopefully in warmer weather, so we can take longer walks and enjoy the many decks.

It is charming. Fantastic view of the River and sunsets and close to the town. We walked everywhere. The house is quiet and plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and bathrooms. I would stay there again.!!

Great Stay!

The property was exactly as described, but roomier than anticipated. The furnishings were clean and comfy. The temperature was perfect. The house was well-provisioned. Communication was quick and helpful . The neighborhood was very friendly!! We would love to come back!

The bed I slept in was very old. I could feel the individual springs in the mattress. Several cupboards needed cleaning especially in 2nd flr bathroom. I didn't think about taking pictures. We had 3 vehicles that came. Parking was impossible. We were all 2-3 blocks away from the house. Some boards on the deck of 2nd floor outside in the back were rotted so we didn't even bother using.

college graduation weekend.

The river house gave us a great place to gather to celebrate my daughters college graduation. There was plenty of room to spread out and to gather. I would prefer more chairs on the top deck so we could have sat out there when it was warm out. It was easier to bring an extra chair or two out front for the sunset over the river, but the street noise could be loud at times...

Overall, it was an historic home with a wonderful view of the river. We enjoyed watching the sunsets together. Enjoyed the rooftop patio, although couldn't get the twinkling lights to turn on. Loved that cupboard doors were labelled and it was a great atmosphere. Check-in was easy and owners were awesome with the level of detail they provided.On the not-so-positive side, it smelled musty so we bought some air fresheners. Parking wasn't the most convenient, especially during the week before 5 pm, and wasn't close for unpacking. We were a bit concerned about the neighborhood - homeless people and others wandering around, looking in the windows. Make sure we were always with someone else. The road noise was SO LOUD, it was deafening and made sleeping difficult. To compound that, the beds were not comfortable. The double on the second floor slanted so much, I was afraid I'd fall out. Definitely need to upgrade the beds.We had a great weekend together and appreciate the owners.

Was a very nice antique 3 floor brownstone. Plenty of room in this full size home for the whole family. Stocked kitchen. Lots of childrens toys allready there for the kiddos. Owner was extremely fast with communication and very eagar to make our stay as plesent as possible. Was a nice quite neighborhood. Had some small issues but nothing major at all. The wifi and a air conditioner needed some tinkering to get going which i was more then happy to help them out with while they were on the phone with me. Just incase someone on the elderly side is looking into the rental they should consider the home has a ton of stairs and the mattresses are not the best for ones with sensitive backs as most the beds were a little on the wornout side. Otherwise everything about the stay was very acommadating and well worth the price range. Was very nice to have the owner so immediately contactable and be such a pleasant person to deal with as you dont have that a lot of times from my experience.

Ideally situated across from the lovely Susquehanna River and in the heart of Midtown Harrisburg, this is a terrific spot to visit. The hosts were very responsive and helpful.

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!

We stayed for the weekend of the Pump Muster & this house was PERFECT! Walking distance to everything & our 1 year old absolutely loved running from end to end of the house & all of the toys! The rooms are spacious & super clean! We will definitely be staying here again!

Amazing location!!

Could not ask for a better spot- just a few blocks from the amazing public market, movie theatres, restaurants… You do need to consider the parking, but it’s not a huge deal. Beds are comfy. No frills, but a nice, clean place.

Great Downtown Experience

Wonderful time staying in such a unique home! We never even found a need for tv and didn’t miss it a bit. There was so much to do and so much to explore. Our kids were fascinated with how different this house was from what they’ve seen. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Great space and conveniently located

The property was immaculately clean and very well appointed. My friends used it as a central location while we were attending a convention in Harrisburg and is served us really well. The only small ding on an otherwise really perfect property is that parking is tough. This isn't the owner's fault of course but it's worth mentioning that if you're commuting by car you will need to carefully check all posted signage.

Charming home close in to town

Several friends and I were in town for a wedding and had a great time here. The place is clean and inviting. Everyone was comfortable in their bedrooms and there were also multiple outdoor spaces. We had a couple of wedding related events in town and we were able to walk to all of them. The house is located across the street from a river and so we had a pleasant walk along the river into town. One member of our group is a runner and she enjoyed running along one side of the river to a bridge then back along the other side to a second bridge. Check in was straightforward and the house had the amenities we needed (towels, hairdryer, etc.).

Dissappointed but since we were almost never there, it really didn't matter as much as it might of.

We were disappointed by the advertising and disclosures after you had our money (with a no refund policy) that would have most assurdly not been something we would have chosen. We were greatly disturbed by the three story situation, the terrible parking problem and the incredible level of traffic within five steps of the front door. The decorating description was embellished..

We were not impressed.

Even though description on web page is accurate, it does not tell the entire situation. First, the place was very clean and appreciated. The description identifies all the amenities but fails to mention that there is no TV or radio in the townhouse. The furnishings are spartan to say the least. The living room furniture consisted of a couch, an older wicker lounger and two leather recliners; no end tables or coffee table. Access to both decks described in the listing was through a window that had been taken out and a door put in in it's place, with a high step built to reach the window threshold and one to reach the level of the decks on the outside. Furnished linens and towels were of mediocre quality. We rented this after a previous reservation had been canceled by the owner at the last minute and we already had made plans to take our grandsons on a trip to Gettysburg and surrounding area. We ended up having a good time with them but were disappointed in the overall spartan conditions of this rental. The relatively inexpensive cost for this rental is appropriate, however, we just feel that there needs to be full disclosure of the true nature of this rental so that renters are aware of what to expect upon arrival. Location in Harrisburg was great.
