Boutique Three Bedroom Holiday Cottage in Conwy | Tŷ-Twr

For a stay in the heart of a medieval town, this boutique three bedroom holiday cottage in Conwy is the ideal accommodation option to explore this fantastic area of North Wales. Located within the town walls, Tŷ-Twr is a fabulous and unique property full of character and original features, only a short walk from the harbour and 13th century Conwy Castle.

A solid wood door with stained glass panel over opens into the deceivingly large property, set over two floors. Entering into the large lounge area of the Edwardian era house, the period features and style have been retained. An ornate fireplace with patterned tiles and wooden surround is the focal point of the room, with a mix of modern eclectic furniture and antique items. Two large fabric sofas, finished in lime green, sit across from each creating a sociable space to enjoy an evening. The walls of the room are painted in a muted shade of blue, with a picture rail and coving above in bright white. The tall ceiling features a decorative chandelier creating a classic look and feel. Wooden flooring and dark stained antique side units complete the room, contrasting beautifully with modern art and artisan décor on the walls.

A doorway from the lounge leads past the staircase and into the property's spacious kitchen and dining area. Decorated in the same colours as the lounge, a traditional theme continues with the original quarry stone tiled floor and dark stained woodwork. The kitchen units are finished in a bright white with wood effect worktops, built in electric oven and hob. With storage cupboards under and open modern shelving above the tiled splashback, there is ample storage space for those who are planning on cooking during their stay. A rustic wooden dining table with six seats available is located in the room, creating a wonderfully cosy and social space. Table lamps and fairy lights dotted around create a warm feeling. To the rear of the property, a utility room includes a washing machine which is ideal for guests who are staying a little longer. A door opens into a small back yard with a large outdoor dining table and bench seating. From the yard, there is access to a WC.

The upstairs layout of the boutique three bedroom holiday cottage in Conwy comprises of three generous sized bedrooms and two bathrooms. Sleeping up to six people, there are two double bedrooms and a twin making this an ideal property for groups or a large family. The larger of the two double bedrooms at the front of the property is bright an airy, with a large stained glass bay window overlooking the streets of Conwy, with views of the town walls. A thick pile carpet in a neutral colour, along with white walls make the room seem light and spacious. The room furniture includes a cosy lime coloured armchair that sits next to the bed, a large antique chest of drawers and two bedside tables with modern table lamps. Artwork features on the walls and chimney breast above a stunning period fireplace. The second double bedroom is located at the front of Tŷ-Twr, also providing views of the town through the large bay window. Decorated in a similar style, but with a blue theme running through the soft furnishings, this large bedroom includes an antique dresser and chair, side tables with modern lamps and a built in wardrobe. The twin bedroom located to the rear of the property is also spacious, with two single beds, an antique large chest of drawers and a side chair.

The main bathroom is a beautiful and bright room with an elegant roll top bath as the centrepiece. A patterned grey vinyl effect floor contrasts against the white tiles which run halfway up the walls - the upper half of the walls painted also in white. A modern three drawer unit provides ample space for toiletries and beauty products. A large mirror sits above the bath creating an illusion of a much larger room. It's the perfect bathroom for a cosy soak with a glass of wine, after a day out exploring or adventuring. A second smaller bathroom is located next to the main, including a walk in shower cubicle, WC and sink, which completes the upstairs layout.

What an amazing location, right inside the castle walls! No need for a car, we took the train. We cooked in when restaurants were full, and had everything we needed. Could not have had a more walkable location. Also, Ann was so warm and welcoming and had so much helpful information about the area!! She was the best hostess. She helped us make our stay 100% successful! We would stay here again in a minute. Highly recommend. Beds were comfy and the bathtub was divine.

Lovely stay in beautiful house inside the town walls

The owners provided everything you could think of to make it a lovely relaxing holiday. Even left a bottle of wine, some chocolate biscuits and some Welsh cakes.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

Ideally located in the heart of the historic town of Conwy, Tŷ-Twr is in a prime position to sample everything the medieval town has to offer. Stepping right out the property you're only a short walk from the town's many bars, restaurants, shops and attractions. Visit the magnificent 13th century Conwy Castle, a fortress which stands on a rocky outcrop overlooking the town and surrounding area. The castle was built by King Edward I of England during his reign, alongside the town walls which are 1.3km in length, much of which can still be accessed to walk along. The castle and town walls provide epic views of the surrounding coastline and the Northern Carneddau mountain range. Explore Conwy's picturesque harbour, or Quay, and visit The Smallest House in Great Britain which only has one small room downstairs and another upstairs. Grab an ice cream and watch the fishermen heading out to sea, or head to the famous Conwy Mussels Company to take home some mussels, renowned as the best in the UK. The town features many other historical attractions including Plas Mawr and Aberconwy House - at every turn there is more stunning architecture to be found.

For guests who plan to dine out, Conwy has a wealth of fantastic restaurants to suit all tastes. From fish and chips through to fine dining, Conwy has options to suit all. Fans of Spanish tapas should head to The Midland Tapas and Wine Bar, while meat lovers should reserve a table at Lava Hot Stone Kitchen - a restaurant where diners cook fresh meat and fish at their table on a hot stone. For fine dining fans, the newly opened The Jackdaw by Nick Rudge on Conwy's High Street serves some fantastic and creative dishes, in a fabulous setting. There are also plenty of drinking options in this small town, all of which are are only a few minutes away from your boutique three bedroom holiday cottage in Conwy. Many of these focus heavily on supporting local brewers and producers. For drinks in vibrant and modern setting, head to Bank of Conwy with its high ceilings and lively atmosphere. Wine lovers should visit Vinomondo - a wine shop and cosy bar on the High Street. The perfect spot for a relaxed drink in a traditional pub setting is the Albion Ale House, located only a few doors down from Tŷ-Tŵr. The bar and lounge areas are comfortable and cosy, and with a roaring log fire it's a great pub to grab a drink with the locals.

For those who wish to explore the surrounding area, Conwy is the ideal base for a number of walks which provide some great views. The Wales Coast Path runs along Conwy Quay and from here there are fantastic coastal walks in both directions. Head west out of Conwy along the coast path, and a twenty minute walk will bring you to the beach at Conwy Morfa - a wild and wonderful expanse of sandy beach which provides amazing views across to Ynys Mon (Anglesey) and of the Great Orme headland in Llandudno. Following the coastal path in the other direction leads towards Llandudno, providing a fantastic route across and along the Conwy Estuary and to the sandy West Shore beach. This is a stunning six mile walk that shouldn't be missed. Heading to higher elevations, there is a walking path from Conwy which leads to the summit of Mynydd y Dref (Conwy Mountain). This headland located to the west of the town is a beautiful spot with numerous walking trails which are a blaze of purple in late summer thanks to the heather that grows here. Lucky visitors might meet some of the wild Carneddau Ponies which roam freely in the area, and if not, the spectacular views are worth it regardless.
