As the name might lead you to expect, Les Jardins d’Emmanuel (JAR) is distinguished by well-established gardens in the front and the back. Even the walk to the best viewpoint on the property takes you past fan palms and other green shrubbery. Inside, the luxury rental property is the epitome of old St. Barth style.

The decoration has a timeless simplicity and a generosity of space. The rooms are large and uncluttered, outfitted with comfortable, functional furnishings. Throughout, the feeling is calm. It is a home where the focus is on the nature outside, both the gardens in the foreground and the one-of-a-kind views over St. Jean Bay in the distance.

The center of Les Jardins d’Emmanuel is a living area with ample seating and a television. A separate office allows you to concentrate if working is part of your time on the island. The living area is connected to the large, well-equipped kitchen and the indoor and outdoor dining areas. Note that in the style of the past, this central space can be cooled with wide-open doors and ceiling fans, but it does not have air-conditioning.

The living space opens onto the terrace, which is mostly covered and serves as a second, open-air living room. Beside the main pool there is a separate, smaller pool for cooling off or enjoying a drink. Beyond the terrace is a gazebo with hammocks and a group of chairs around a low cocktail table.

The two bedrooms are on opposite sides of the living area. Each one is spacious and has a king-size bed and an ensuite bathroom. These are equal in size, and both have air-conditioning as well as ceiling fans.

Les Jardins d’Emmanuel is conveniently located in Lorient, close to St. Jean. It has a large parking area.
