We are regular visitors to this property and have consistently been impressed with both the quality and setting of the cottage as well as the experience. This is truly one of, if not the best VRBO destination we have ever visited--anywhere!
The mermaid house is magical! Sat on the deck at sunrise and sunset! Absolutely fantastic! House is cute and comfortable! Watching the tides ebb and flow soothed my soul! Had visits from at least 10 different kinds of birds! Love it! I highly recommend this location!
Amazing location and super fun rustic boat like feel on tamales bay in pt reyes. Host was helpful and house had everything we needed including a hot tub with the best view around!
We love staying at the Mermaid House. It’s very comfortable, well-appointed, a great location, quiet, and easy access to a couple great restaurants in Marshall, Point Reyes Station and the National Seashore.
Astounding view. You are staying over the bay, it laps under the house. Incredibly tranquil. Wonderful hot tub. So close to Pt Reyes with all the chill vibes, cheese, and good bread you could possibly want—and a great bookstore. I don't even like oysters and I would 100% return.Super comfortable bed. Great living room and deck to hang out. Also, host was incredibly kind and responsive. Karma!Tip: print or screenshot the check-in instructions as there is no cell reception once you are 10 miles out.
We had a wonderful stay and was both rejuvenating and reinvigorating - and all that we wanted to "get away" from it all. All amenities, views of the bay, proximity to cycling, hiking, kayaking, restaurants - all were perfect to enjoy Nature's Bounty. Owners are wonderful and responsive. Beautiful Nautical Home with great vibe.
This is a beautifully maintained bay front cottage. Gorgeous views, great/comfortable furnishings, and close to Hog Island Oysters! The hot tub is also perfect for two and a wonderful way to wrap up the day. Close to lots of good trails, kayaking and eye-popping drives. It truly is a perfect getaway!
As usual, Karen was very welcoming and informative on check in and out procedures. We were there over Christmas and much to our surprise there was a fully lit and decorated tree to welcome us along with Christmas decorations around the house. It doesn't get any better than that!
This was our second time at the Mermaid House and it was just as lovely and comfortable as the last time. Sitting on the deck watching the sea lions and otters playing in the bay and listening to the waves while you have your morning coffee truly cannot be beat. Or maybe it can only be beat by doing the same thing from the hot tub with a drink in hand - it would be hard to choose but luckily with the Mermaid House you don’t have to. I hope we’ll be back again soon!
We spent a fantastic week at the Admiral's quarters. Swimming and paddleboarding from the dock, soaking in the hot tub, enjoying the view from the deck and the house. So much to do nearby. Great meals at the Marshall Store and Tony’ Seafood. And cooking at the house worked well.Karen was a responsive and helpful host. We look forward to coming back.
Everything was perfect. Great location with easy access to all of the things that Marin County has to offer. Quick and effective communication with the owners. Top notch all around.
Stayed here multiple times over the years and this is among the best consistently of all those VRBOs we've experienced. Absolutely first class property, location, and hosts. It simply doesn't get any better short of owning the property yourself! On second thought, having owned a VRBO rental for 20 years, renting this property is better than owning one!
Securing the property was easy, the owners provided very clear information, and the place was as advertised. It poured the entire time we were there but the house was a cozy place to ride out the storm.
From the moment we walked and saw the sparkling water so close and the fabulous ship decor we were in total delight for our stay! We discovered convenience after convenience in the kitchen. Peet’s Coffee, our favorite, was right on the shelf! The kitchen had everything we needed, dishes and cups so coordinated. Such detail for renters is truly appreciated !Questions were answered promptly, check in information complete and clear, as well as directions for fireplace and hot tub .Our stay in the Admiral’s Quarters could not have been any better !
