This was the perfect place to stay for our daughter’s wedding weekend at the nearby Strauss family home. Nestled right up against the picturesque Tomales Bay, it had everything we needed to enjoy a magical weekend.
Nice weather, great views, private, casual but comfortable. We will stay again.

Liked: Check-in, location
We stayed here for a weekend and it was very mediocre. The place smelled really stale and was pretty dusty, there was some cobwebs, and it seemed like the cleaner just put some fresh towels out and that was all. There is no washer/dryer which was fine, but also no stove either, a coffee pot but no coffee beans, no hair dryer, or any other amenity that I am used to at vacation rentals. Also, what we actually had access to was an attached unit on a house which was not clear in the posting. The bed was really small, like Full sized maybe and my husband and I barely fit on it. I would say this place is more suitable for a single person. The one pro is that it is right on the water and the view from the deck is pretty.
As usual my annual trek to Joe’s Studio for my salt water fix was perfect. Perfect location to explore to the north or south. Cold, foggy and windy Friday night but cozy duvets and the fireplace made everything just right.
Nice little place to get away if you dont mind the home owner being there in the main house.

Hey Kevin, thanks for taking time to write this review.
Just to be clear, Saturday morning there was an area-wide electrical outage, which Kevin complained about.
The owner dropped by for a short time midday Saturday to check on things.
Occasionally one of the two owners will stay overnight in the main house (the blue waterfront building you see in the photo gallery). Studio guests rarely even know when they are at the house.
The property was double booked and we had to find an emergency place to stay on a Friday night for the weekend. TOTAL NIGHTMARE!

This was an unfortunate incident due to the system letting us all down. We worked together with her and were glad she was able to find another spot within a few minutes.
The property was perfect, loved the location. Robert was great

Jerri communicated well during the booking process and throughout her stay.
She left the place in excellent condition.
We'd be happy to have her return.
Site was better than anticipated overall. Kind welcome, nice outdoor space, and more than adequate indoor space. We were, overall, appreciative of the experience.
This quiet, private studio has been recently remodeled and is located directly on the bay. A beach to walk on and decks provide ample seating to enjoy the outdoors. Extremely clean and the owner has added many amenities to make it comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked and the fireplace is wonderful.
Great place! Missing a cork screw, a pot with a lid, for cooking, a light in the hall, instructions for using the bungee cord on the trash can
Otherwise we loved the space, peaceful and easy

Hi Sandy, thanks so much for taking time to write this review. Sorry you missed seeing the kitchen items you needed.
Return trip to Joe’s. Loved it last summer, so we came again. We love the peaceful vibe. Watching the tide move in and out. The fog creep and the sunsets. Perfect!
This studio is amazing. It is very cozy and comfortable. It had everything that we needed. It is right on the water. My kids loved that they could play with sand anytime they wanted.
This studio is larger than expected and has a good layout! Very private feeling even though attached to the main house! Stunning views off the private patio (though the lowtide can be stinky!)
Rob was communicative and easy to reach! Would stay here again no question!
Joes studio was fantastic. The small studio had everything you need, including a huge selection of dvds to explore after a day spent outside. We rented kayaks and only used them once - the kayaking is superb but the house’s location was so perfect we just wanted to stay there all day. There were so many birds to watch. Including an osprey nest we could watch all day while wading in the bay. This place is so peaceful and quiet, and the deck and patio were perfect every hour of the day. The price is also much more affordable than other places in the area, but the studio had every basic need covered.

Why they chose this property
This property has been handed down within the same family for quite some time. It is the original site of the historic Bleu Baie Tavern. Bleu Baie Lane was originally the narrow gauge railroad bed that transported dairy products and logged trees to SFBay and then to San Francisco. Prior to the need to build San Francisco this area was home to the Coastal Miwoks for thousands of years. Bleu Bay Cove is the permanent home to Great Blue Herons, Snowy White Egrets and numerous other types of shorebirds and waterfowl.
What makes this property unique
Serene and peaceful waterfront property with sandy beach access at low tide. The cove is used for collecting shells, swimming, fishing & launching kayaks/canoes. Within a few minutes drive of County/State/National Parks, Nick's Cove Restaurant, Hog Island Oyster Company, The Straus Family Farm (popular wedding venue), The Marshall Store, Tony's Seafood Restaurant, The Marconi Conference Center, Point Reyes Station and Point Reyes National Seashore.
