Amazing getaway for our special trip!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had the most amazing stay at this gorgeous place. It was a perfect size for the two of us to enjoy our wedding and honeymoon stay while visiting the beautiful things Acadia has to offer.

We arrived on Thursday and met Mary and Tom. They are so sweet and gave us many great suggestions on places to check out and food to try. When we walked in the place, we were greeted with a nice basket with snacks and a bottle of champagne. (Such a sweet little addition) The place is clean and has everything you might need for your stay.

We got married on Friday in Acadia on Sand Beach. At the end of the day of our wedding, it was so nice to know we were able to come back to a quiet comfortable place where we would be spending the following week for our honeymoon. It definitely felt like home quickly after getting all of things into the house. Many evening we saw deer walking in the back yard off the porch and enjoyed the fire pit and looking up to endless amount of stars. Another thing we enjoyed was being outside of the busyness of the main Bar Harbor area.

We would recommend this to any couple looking to stay and visit Acadia. Tom and Mary are so kind and thoughtful. They have a beautiful place that we were lucky to have had the opportunity to stay there.

My husband and I stayed in this beautifully cozy space for our honeymoon week while exploring Acadia

  • 5 of 5

Mary and her husband were very helpful to us for whatever we needed. They offered us their kayaks for the week and helped us secure them on the roof of our car. They told us about a great kayaking spot where we ended up getting to see a bald eagle. They were available for questions as needed and sweet. The home is very clean and tidy. Still smells like wood.

We loved the quiet surrounding the suite we stayed in and enjoyed the firepit and landscaping outside. The home is less than a mile from great local businesses with groceries and awesome sandwiches. Also an amazing restaurant named Red Sky.

We found this home as a perfect getaway from the busyness of Bar Harbor and also had an amazing lobster benedict at Grumpy's which is also about a mile or less away.

Thank you dearly Mary!

The simplicity of good design really matters and this place proves it.

  • 5 of 5

The simplicity of good design really matters and Manset studio proves it. This small space manages to magically offer six separate environments to enjoy over the space of a two car garage. I could read my book on the deck, in bed, at the desk or on the couch or at the kitchen counter. This studio is appointed with high quality accessories. There were great little touches like high quality hand cream, soaps and q-tips for guest use. I really appreciated having real cotton sheets, a cotton blanket and a nice quilt to sleep in and not some cheesy polyester fabric in a clashing pattern. I loved the botanical garden fine china and not having to eat off of some plastic ugly design that made me cringe. The owners were especially considerate in leaving a welcome gift basket of wine, cheese and crackers and OJ and milk and tea and coffee for the first morning. I loved being on the porch and doing yoga overlooking the field in the mornings. Everything seemed clean and new. Despite this being attached to a home we couldn't hear the owners except for when their garage door opened. The location off the main road was very quite and we could see millions of stars at night from the deck. It was a great place to come back to at night or to hang out in on a rainy day. The only (tiny) down side was that the internet couldn't be accessed from the bed cubby and that there was a slight moldy smell from the carpeted interior stairwell. Overall this is a cosy, well designed and tastefully appointed studio and we were really grateful to have found it and to have stayed there.

Fantastic place to stay on the quiet side of MDI!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful week staying at the Manset Studio! It's a beautiful and cozy apartment, and we really appreciated and made good use of the kitchen space. The owner, Mary, is very sweet and helpful, and was always available to answer our questions and help us with whatever we needed. The studio is just a short distance from Seawall and a couple really excellent oceanside trails. We were here late in the year and most everything is "closed for the season", but there are some gems that make coming here this time of year the best possible time to come! Be sure to check out Beal's Lobster Pier in SW Harbor for fresh-off-the-boat seafood. Even when the restaurant has shut its doors, fresh seafood can still be bought at the end of the pier. We were lucky enough to be here at the beginning of scallop season, and they are excellent! Also, McKay's pub in Bar Harbor has excellent food, drinks, and ambiance for very reasonable prices! Apart from that, having the entirety of Acadia to ourselves in the off-season is about as good as it gets! Thanks for everything, Mary, we would most definitely stay at the Manset Studio again and can't recommend it highly enough! ~Alex & Yoko

Cosy and practical!

  • 5 of 5

Great customer service! A nice basket of goodies was waiting for us when we arrived. Mary and Tom are very helpful in providing info about restaurants (Thurston's for lobster, The Common Good for popovers for breakfast). The kayaks they provided us were put to good use! We went kayaking four times at Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor, Pretty Marsh and Bass Harbor. The studio is clean, spacious and comfortable. We had a great time!
