Alfama with Private Patio & Barbecue
If you're looking for an authentic stay in Lisbon’s historic center, this is your place! This comfortable ground-floor apartment sits right in the heart of Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest (and liveliest) neighborhood. Here, winding alleys echo with the sound of fado, sardines sizzle on street grills, and every corner tells a story.
- Living Room
Cozy and functional, the living area features a sofa bed (suitable for 1 adult or 2 small children), a TV, and a glass dining table for three. The front door opens directly onto the street, putting Lisbon’s daily rhythm right at your doorstep.
- Kitchenette
Tucked behind rustic wooden beams that add charm and character. Fully equipped with a 2-burner electric stove, oven, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, and coffee machine. Ideal for prepping breakfast or a simple dinner after a day of exploring Alfama’s winding streets.
- Bedroom
Fitted with a comfortable double bed and connected to a small dressing area with a mirrored built-in wardrobe. This leads to a private inner patio, a rare find in Alfama, complete with a barbecue for relaxed meals under the sky.
- Bathroom
It was fully renovated and features a shower, toilet, and sink.
Why stay here:
✔️ You are in the middle of Alfama, very close to the train/metro station and only 15 minutes away from the airport. Sleep where the city sings, cooks, and lives.
✔️ Walk everywhere: viewpoints, fado houses, traditional restaurants, and the Tagus River are all within a short stroll.
✔️ Ground-floor access with a private patio — a unique bonus in Lisbon’s old town.
✔️ Perfect for solo travelers, couples and small families seeking local flavor over tourist gloss.
Good to Know:
- Festival Season (June): During the Santos Populares, Alfama transforms into a huge street party with music, dancing and grilled sardines well into the night.
- The entrance opens directly onto the street, so occasional pedestrian and neighbourhood sounds should be expected.
- This is a ground-floor apartment in a historic building and its layout is more enclosed than a typical upper-floor flat. There are no conventional windows: natural light reaches the front of the apartment through the glazed entrance door and the rear through the patio access. As a result, the apartment may feel darker and cooler, particularly on overcast days.
