Welcome to a unique thatched-roof house on Åsen, perfectly situated between Sejerø Bay and the Kattegat. Built nearly 200 years ago, the house is a gateway to the past, beautifully restored with modern comforts. Here, you can truly feel the breath of history amidst quintessentially Danish cultural icons such as Madam Blå and the old wood-burning stove.



Inside, the house offers a charming combination of historical aesthetics and modern convenience. The cozy living rooms, furnished in the style of a farmhouse parlor, are complemented by modern amenities such as a ceramic stove and an air-to-air heat pump. The new bathroom with underfloor heating and a well-equipped kitchen ensure a comfortable stay, while the first floor entices with a fantastic view and a cozy loft for the children.



Outside, a large, lush garden awaits, still capturing the essence of an old-fashioned country garden with gnarled trees and cozy nooks. Spend the evening by the fire pit or on the terrace with a homemade pizza from the wood-fired oven. The garden invites you to relax and socialize under the open sky. In the field behind the house, there is a large shelter offering the most stunning views of the Kattegat and Hesselø.



In the old days, the road outside the house was just a gravel path. Today, it is the main road to the Odden-Aarhus ferry. Traffic noise is therefore unavoidable, but on the other hand, there is a bus stop right outside, so it is easy to get to and from the location if you don’t have a car.

The area around the house is rich in activities and nature experiences. Go fishing for garfish and sea trout in the Kattegat, or enjoy a walk along the beach to Sonnerup Forest. Local specialties can be enjoyed in Odden, where you can visit Birkemosegård for organic produce, Tir Bageri for freshly baked bread, or Havnebyens Kaffebar for a good cup of coffee.
