Bij de renovatie van de quinta is rekening gehouden met duurzaamheid; het huis is zelfvoorzienend en wordt warm/koel gehouden door een warmtepomp. De accommodatie is rolstoeltoegankelijk: de ingang is breed en het huis heeft geen drempels. Ook de tuin en het zwembad zijn gemakkelijk toegankelijk. Het zwembad is geopend vanaf mei tot in oktober. Deze woning maakt deel uit van een complex van 3 woningen en het zwembad en de tuin worden gedeeld met andere gasten.

Het huisje is fijn, de locatie is prachtig en de eigenaren zijn geweldig. Hadden we een normale vakantie gehad, dan waren we al dik tevreden geweest, maar we hadden een medisch ongeval helaas. Ellen en Hans hebben ons/mij met raad en daad terzijde gestaan, waardoor een crisissituatie behapbaar werd en de kinderen ook toffe verhalen hebben over de vakantie. Btw: vloerverkoeling is zoveel fijner dan airco!

Casa designada como T3 mas um dos quartos é dentro do outro o que acabamos por ter de dormir 2 casais dentro do quarto o que deixa de haver privacidade. O proprietário da casa está-nos a controlar o dia todo. Dentro da casa o cheiro a esgoto é abundante, fora a água da casa que cheira a esgoto. Não permite visitas de outros familiares a casa.

Hartelijk ontvangen door de eigenaars Ellen en Hans, die ons stonden op te wachten. 2 dagen eerder hadden ze reeds geïnformeerd naar onze aankomsttijd. Hoewel de aankomst tussen bepaalde tijden valt, zijn ze hierin heel soepel, zolang ze maar op de hoogte zijn. Het huis is zalig. Heel koel. Helemaal zoals op de site beschreven. Het ziet er in realiteit beter uit dan op de foto’s. Alles is heel hygiënisch. Er zijn lakens, handdoeken en keukengerei voorzien. He is mooi gerenoveerd en heeft toch zijn typisch Portugese stijl behouden. Het is een mooi en proper zwembad, goed onderhouden door de gastheer die altijd in de weer is met het onderhoud van het terrein. Hij maakt regelmatig de vuilbakken van de gasten leeg. Verder is er op het terrein een pizzaoven en barbecue die door de gasten gebruikt kunnen worden. Er is hout voorradig voor de oven. Dit alles ligt in een mooie tuin, ook weer mooi onderhouden. Er is een maximum van 20 mensen op het domein, waardoor het er heel rustig is. Het domein ligt aan een grote baan, maar daar heb je helemaal geen last van. Rondom liggen grote velden vol kurkbomen. Leuk om er een wandeling te gaan maken. Het gebied is niet zo toeristisch, waardoor het er erg rustig is. Er zijn wel enkele leuke bezienswaardigheden. Je zit op een uurtje van andere toeristische steden zoals Evora, Lissabon,... Verder weet Ellen heel veel te vertellen over dingen in de buurt en ook wat verder. Zo hebben ze ons een heel leuk en heerlijk restaurant aangeraden: A Ribeira. Wij vonden het een aangenaam en rustgevend verblijf. Bedankt Ellen en Hans

We hebben met ons gezin en heerlijke tijd gehad. Het huisje was prima, met een geweldig mooie tuin en een heerlijk groot zwembad, bijna voor onszelf! Ellen en Hans zijn zeer hartelijk en behulpzaam en geven goede tips over wat er in de omgeving te doen is. Er zijn leuke dagtrips te maken naar bv Evora en Setubal (aanrader!). Ook weten Hans Ellen leuke restaurantjes aan te bevelen. Het is er heerlijk rustig, dus een fijne plek om even helemaal bij te komen.

Casa do Forno. Poor house, lovely pool and garden, almost non-existent wifi. Disappointing.

Cold, dark and with a strong smell of damp was our first impression of this property. On arrival (Sat.) we were met by a pleasant young woman, who spoke no English and who took away the voucher with the owner's telephone number (my oversight, should have made a copy). The hob had three gas burners and one electric plate: there was no way to light the gas (we don't smoke) and the electricity to the plate was turned off at the socket with a key. We spent a cold and uncomfortable first night partly due to the unusually poor weather for June. Next morning (Sun.) I tried to send an e-mail to Belvilla to get a phone number but there was no wifi in this property. I had to stand outside the house next door but one to get any reception, fine if the weather were nice and it was daylight. We did eventually find the owner's numbers in the house. One was unobtainable the other went to voicemail and I left a message. We bought some matches so in the evening we lit the wood burner. In the bathroom the shower ran hot and then cold and the water did not drain properly. There was a crack in the sink and the cistern was very noisy. The towels had seen much better days. The indoor furniture was old and some of it was broken. The wardrobe in the rear bedroom had no back in it and no handles on the doors so we had to be careful not to close them fully, the wardrobe in the other room smelt strongly of mould. The outdoor furniture looked new and of good quality but we did not use it because of the weather. On Tuesday morning we had a visit from the owner, Joanna, who had not retrieved the voicemail. She denied that the property was damp but on our return in the evening the fire had already been lit and two space heaters had appeared. We did not see her again. We heard from Belvilla later that day. The gardens and pool area were lovely and well maintained. The house is well situated in a rural location but close to a fast and noisy road.

happy holidays

A very calm and beautiful place to rest, in the middle of wonderful surroundings and for the kids to enjoy the big and baby swiming pool. Warm, friendly and available owners, Helen and Hans, that we had fun, specialy the girls. The house is simple, practical and confortable, tipical from the style of the region, with all necessary to make meals or wash close. the outdoor space with the trees that give a good shadow on very warm days arround the swiming pool with a cool drink. perfect. A big barbecue and wood oven is waiting for beautiful and tasty meat from the region or also a good fish on the grill. A place that our family advises to all. Still, maybe air conditioning in the houses would be a plus. Thank you Helen, Hans and family for making our holidays better. We will be back for shore.

Très bon accueil, belle prestation.

Déchargez vos valises et allez vite vous rafraîchir dans la belle piscine. Helen est accueillante et se soucie de votre bien être. Vous pourrez même vous faire votre propre limonade!(les citrons ne demandent qu'à être cueillis!). La maison est fraîche naturellement, hormis le lit en mezzanine ( il y fait une chaleur étonnante!). Nous sommes (4 adultes et 2 enfants) très contents d'y avoir séjourné, y retournerons sans aucun doute et le conseillons à une famille avec enfants! Merci encore à Helen et son mari pour l'accueil et la gentillesse!

Die Außenanlage Garten, toller Pool für uns alleine, Liegen, Obstbäume waren sehr schön und erholsam Bild auf Webseite war nicht die Wohnung, sondern der Wasch- und Werkraum, Bilder der Wohnungen selbst von innen waren nicht vorhanden, aus gutem Grund, da die Innenräume nicht den Erwartungen und Standard entsprachen - Beispiele - bei Ankunft fanden wir in den Schränken schmutziges Geschirr (verbrannte Essensreste) der Vormieter vor - Wohnung nicht gründlich gereinigt - noch sehr viel Staub auf Stühlen, Möbeln, Fensterbänken, Spiegel - im Bad Schimmel an Wasserhahn, Duschstange schief, Spinnweben in den Ecken - im Schlafzimmer Leintücher mit Löchern, 1 Bettuch zerrissen Matratzen darunter teilweise angerissen 1 Nachttischlampe mit Wackelkontakt Steckdose aus Wand herausgerissen/ heraushängend - Wohn/Essbereich über Esstisch alter Röhrenfernseher hängend, mit schmutzigen Kabeln herunterhängend - funktionierte nicht, da Antennen und Stromanschlüsse aus Wand herausgerissen waren - allgemein Wohnung kann einfach sein, aber sollte sauber sein, was hier nicht der Fall war Möbel alt und verstaubt (auch Sofa), Wohnung war innen ungemütlich, außen schön.
